I think Big sam has a great chance in that market at 14's.

Beat Cardiff 2-0 at the weekend plus two winable games coming up.

Away to Newcastle isn't as daunting as it once was and finally they have a gimme at home to Stoke.

Another good spot

Max was too punchy, there are more runners than I thought but v comfortable with £50 at 5-1 on the Urbane Chilean.

Arsenal 2.44 now, Fen 3.2 and sporting index still insist it's a choice of 2 game. Don't think I've ever seen such a discrepancy before

do you want to be on Fener?

is that the discrepancy? 3.2?

In the cricket it's flat and Woakes and Kerrigan have got marmalised by Watson

Rogers 21* and we need him out

Australia will win this Test, the wicket isn't going 5 days

Gloomy about Swann as Harris will be chaos later on on a worn wicket, gloomy abotu Clarke unless we can get Rogers soon

No they really aren't good, and Turkey isn't the place that people picture out of Midnight Express. Arsenal were way too big at 2.75, and are now about right. Just the spread firms haven't moved their prices so are now miles out. Selling Fenerbache at -0.1 is obviously a max

5-1 def a good price, nice find.

I'm not sure that those who have games on the 1st won't come into the reckoning though.

Isn't the motm announced a few days into the following month? I doubt the panel would ignore liverpool thumping united 5-0 on the 1st for example.

Quite like Rodgers at 20-1, good record against villa away plus if they can beat united at home i'd make him a near cert.

It is announced on Friday 5th September

If it includes points gained on the Sunday 1st September games? Logically it shouldn't but I would be guessing

Often the best each-way bets are in 16-20 runner races where the bookmakers go 1,2,3,4 places.

We all get very excited (and rightly so) when bookmakers bet 8 places on golf events with 160-runners, but just because these 16-runner races come along all the time we mustn't forget to get suitably excited.

The first race at York is a great example. If you simply divide the best price on odds-checker of all the runners by four you'll find that 16/16 times the figure you have is bigger than the place market on Betfair.

That should be enough to get us to strap our betting boots on. Now throw in a draw advantage that helps to rule out many of the runners and we really MUST have a bet.

I want a low drawn horse that will stay the extended 5f and which comes into this in form. I like relentless gallopers that stay on.

I want the price on Oddschecker to be pretty close to the current Betfair price.

I like Bogart, Barnet Fair and Lady Gibralter but I prefer something drawn lower.

I quite like Goldream but you do have to forgive the last run.

I'm having just one decent each-way bet and it's Demora at 12/1 with Ladbrokes, Hills, Corals and others.

For those that can bet with Skybet the 11/1 with 1,2,3,4,5 is even better.

I'm hoping arsenal will come in loads so I can lay.

I know it's a huge cliche but think that atmosphere will be a big leveller. Everybody mentions how tough it is to play in that ground.

And English teams i often think are way too short away to teams from 'lesser' countries.

Problem is all the Arsneal negativity will probably make them more of a bet than a lay-like the example above.

Hate it when I have to go full circle from my initial thoughts-esp being a spurs fan, but as always price is king.

Watford v Forest preview

I fancy a couple of speculative ones in this game which I will put forward for discussion.

A feature of Watford's games against Bournemouth and Reading is that they have started poorly, and come back with blistering 2nd half performances.  I normally never play this market, but I'd suggest the Forest Watford FT has a greater chance of coming in than the 28/1 on offer.  Small stakes obviously, £3 or something but this is definitely a live runner given that Forest are also full of confidence and will, I expect, be playing to win the game.  Add to that Watford's still rather chaotic defence and ability to score bucketloads of goals and we have spot of value at 28/1 imo.

The other one is Gabriel Angella to score at any time at 8/1.  The centre back is a real menace from corners - scored once against Bristol Rovers and twice against Bournemouth.  He also had a good scoring record at Udinese.  The only negative against this one (and indeed the first one) is that Forest have yet to concede this season, but Watford will offer them a lot more problems than Huddersfield, Blackburn and Bolton have so far.  Against small stakes here - maybe £7 so we have £10 of interest on the game.

They have been backed from 2.8 into 2.4 after drifting all week- thy are probably around their price so if you ever wanted to lay it would be now as hard to see how can get too much shorter. The 2.7+ was madness as Fenerbache aren't very good and i think all the stadium/atmosphere stuff is way over factored in these instances.

In my preview that is Forest to be winning at Half Time and Watford to be winning at Full Time which is 28-1.  Think it is only in one place, but 25-1 freely available.

Agree 2.7+ was big.

I'm hoping to lay nearer 5-4 though, 2.4 i'll just leave it.

I'd agree with you in terms of most places in regards to the atmosphere, just not there.
