I opened my Racing Post, laid it on the carpet, and have set Sammy the Spider to work.
He'll be no good on the place pot. Too many legs.

It is a 16-runner race. Obviously I totally understand that it COULD go 15-runner but it is 16-runner.
I could just as easily as looked at the 17-runner 4.55. It shows the same thing. Yesterday we looked at a 17-runner race and found the same thing.
If the fact that sometimes 16-20 runner handicaps sometimes become 15 runners is your argument for why the value in them is a mirage then I am disappointed too.
Anyway, like I said, I'm busy trying to get bets on and I should be happy that there are people who aren't playing in these races. More value for me.
Really there isn't any point in continuing this, if you won't accept that the betfair prices that you would use for your "arbs" are shorter because they will always pay 4 places.
Enjoy your day.

Hi bud,
Must say, that spider analogy cost me a coffee, & a new keyboard. Bet my spider is a bloody ice cream.
Enjoy.
I was liking you until the CBB bit.

I think we have a free bet with BetFred. I think Smarty Socks looks a good home for this in the 3.05. The horse has been a bit unlucky recently and is drawn well. It looks a good each way bet, but we may lose another runner, and each way is bad for free bets, so on the nose it must be at 12/1.
Whilst in BetFred I noticed they are doing the Hills type offer again. No harm in covering some bases, as they are best priced on Venus Di Milo at 9/4 in the 15.40 and the Lucky Kristale in the 14.30 at 3/1. Suggest £25 each.
Thank you.

Not averse to Smarty Socks - Hugh Taylor horse I note. Would say that the low draw not so great for this hold-up horse.

Welcome Malty sir! Bring on CBB, been bored the last couple of nights without any BB to watch.
Sure you know the drill by now, that it's tradition for new threadites to post their top five tipsters, with a line on each. You may not include Tikay as an expert tho.

Smarty Socks does get a mile but for me he's a good few pounds better over 7f. Also, he's quite likely to miss the kick, which isn't good from stall 1, and is a bit too high in the weights. Not for me this time.

I missed the 3/1 Lucky Kristale, it is now 11/4 best, & 5/2 BetFred & many others. Pushed for time, so took the 5/2. Permission granted to shout at me.

Ebor Saturday,
Recommend Ted Veale, win bet £20 @ 12s with 32 red. Seems the draw of 17 will suit!
1M 6F EBOR H/CAP (10%): Interestingly for a long distance race the draw appears a key factor with 7/9 York* winners coming out of the highest third of the stalls (*Run at Newbury in 2008). All winners carried 9st 4lbs or less. All last raced 13-60 days before. Draw L11%;M11%;H78%.
Horse finished well last night, and appeared to me to have plenty in hand at finish. wouldn't be too worried about the quick turn around, following the trainers recent feat of having a horse win 3 times at a festival in a week. Appears to me to be a classy animal, and most definitely worth taking the 12s available. Trainer may well have plotted another classic raid across the water. With f berry booked, suggest he has great chance!

Does anyone know what the best draw to have is at York in the Ebor? Havent got my racing post to find this info, but I see Ted Veale is drawn 17 on Saturday. It appeared to me that he would most definitely appreciate further, and had a lot left in the tank after his win last night. He has been cut from 14s and is now 8,9,10-1 generally with one company having it at 12s. I cant suggest it is value to the thread at that price without knowing effect draw has, though I am on anyway at 16 from a few weeks back!!
I don't think it matters so much over the longer distances.

No need to shout, swings and roundabouts, sometimes you beat me, sometimes the others. We always get the best odds guaranteed anyway.
