I have had a look at the Welsh Open Golf (thanks Adz).

The field looks a bit weak with the top Europeans in the US this week, but that shouldn't stop us betting.

The basic maths of these bets are either we are getting 6 places when we should really be getting 4, thus losing a few percent on the win part, and more than making up for it on the place part;
or that we get very close to Betfair and get 5 places instead of 4, thus we barely lose on the win part, but gain an extra place on the place part.

BetVictor bets

£15 each way Francesco Molinari (22/1)
£7.50 each way Victor Dubuisson (50/1)
£7.50 each way Danny Willett (50/1)
£5 e/w Raphael Jacqueline (66/1)
£5 e/w David Howell (80/1, yes he is still playing and has managed a handful of top 10s this year)
£5 e/w Filipe Aguilar (100/1)

Ladbrokes, Tote, Betfred, Sportingbet, or William Hill

£5 e/w Kiradech Aphibarnrat (66/1)

If any price has gone, don't bet.

True, but we beat Betfair on that one and get five places which is probably one more than they should.   They tee off soon, so maybe it is getting a bit late to put bets on.

Not me, my sectionals out of Trap 1 are lightning fast.

They are all ON, details incoming. Some of them may not even be misclicks.

Does Ringo still do the narration?

(Ask your mother, kids. Boy do I feel old!)

Not quite. His stint finished in 1986.

I don't do chess photos on Fred these days, but I thought you might like this one, as it's quiet in these posts momentarily.

This was taken yesterday in the semi finals of one of the biggest tournaments in the game: the world cup. We have Mr Kramnik and Mr Tomaschevsky and a man on the left doing something only familiar to chess players:

ITM Cup (it's egg-chasing in Oz).

Cantebury -16 (vs Waikato) at 10/11.

Available with lots of firms. No real Betfair market but roughly 4/6 -15.5.

Suggested to me by a good judge who says Waikato have made 9 changes since last week and should be -20+.

 Starts at 8.35.

 £55?

Is this how a pro punter operates, up at some ungodly hour scouring the world for an edge, any sport, any country, any time? Impressive stuff. Punting used to be Saturday afternoon in a Terry Downes shop.

Must say, I could easily be confused by....

should be -20+

We really are apprentice degens, betting on RU in Australia at 0830 on a Thursday morning.

Thanks Neil, & good luck us.

£55 @ 10/11, Wm Hill, Canterbury (-16) over Waikato.

ON

29 Aug 2013 - Canterbury v Waikato - 80 Minutes Handicap

Canterbury (-16.0) @ 10/11

Stake : £55.00

Estimated Returns : £
