Trust me, it feels even worse when you had the first two in the Euro comp doubled up...and then you wait an extra 24 hours to feel the pain. Cry

It was Ladbrokes who reported Ian Black for Gambling to the SFA, seemingly the phoned him and asked if he was Ian Black the Footballer.

This was reported by a good scottish footballer journalist last week

Really not sure how that fits in with the data protection act or whatever is relevant in this case

An organisation or business which collects Data from a Client may ONLY use it for the intended purpose, & those details remain private between the Site & the Client. In the case of an Online Gaming Site, those "purposes" are easily defined.

We must not, of course, assume or suggest that Ladbrokes have acted improperly, we don't have such evidence. Journalists, of course, can & do get away with murder.
Ladbrokes restrict u because they don't like the colour of your money, then take away some promised bonus that u should be taking to IBAS, and journalists get away with murder?! Think of some of the stories and scandals that have come out through good investigative journalism before u tar them all with the fake sheikh brush. Ladbrokes can go with Ryanair in your list of companies doing a jolly good job

What Ladbrokes clearly acted properly on the footballer, and in line with their privacy policy.  The data protection act doesn't trump every other law and reporting possible frauds to the police would be high up on your list of exceptions.

2.1 We may collect and process Information, including sharing the Information with our third party data processors who process your Information on our behalf, including for the purposes of:

•preventing fraud, cheating and money laundering, ensuring compliance with our terms of use, reducing credit risk and protecting sports/games integrity, which may require us to disclose your Information and betting and gaming history to third parties such as the relevant regulator, gaming bodies, sporting bodies, financial institutions, agencies responsible for verifying age, the police and credit reporting agencies;

I'd say Jeff is right on the IBAS thing, I think it is perfectly fine for Ladbrokes to stop you taking these bonuses in the future, taking away those you have earned is a pretty shonky act.  I don't think that the ASA will be impressed with it either. Your right to do what you like with your money/accounts obviously.

Ladbrokes have taken away Fred's free bets?

Yup.

To save you going back 3 or 4 pages, they sent me a notelet. (My enboldenment).

We wish to advise you that we are restructuring our approach to bonuses, concessions, Free Bet refunds and Best Odds Guaranteed.

As a result a number of accounts, including yours, will no longer be eligible for bonuses, concessions, Free Bet refunds or Best Odds Guaranteed of any kind, effective immediately.

This restriction will be included in all future terms and conditions. All other terms and conditions remain the same and we sincerely look forward to your continued custom at Ladbrokes.

Please note any pending bonuses or concessions attached to your account have also been withdrawn.

Kind Regards

+1 to that, those Thai guys that seem to take it in turns to give their mates some gambling money should be next too.

Glad to see Dechawat Poomjaeng wasn't involved.

He seemed like a lovely bloke in the Worlds.
