I had a bit of a 'mare last weekend but there is a bet I like tomorrow. Calum Smith is the latest British Super-Middleweight prospect and has looked impressive so far taking out his last 4 opponents in the first round. He takes a big step up in class though against Patrick Mendy who is better than his 14-6-1 record suggests. Importantly he also has a great chin and has never been stopped in his 6 defeats. He is also awkward and difficult to catch cleanly.  They obviously think a lot of Smith to be stepping him up so quickly but I think this will be a tricky nights work and the 5/2 on Smith by points is too big. Recommend £30.

Bazza, should I get Tikay on the BJS by decision @ evens?

I no Fred is on Adam swift anytime try scorer but Ladcrooks have just enhanced Ryan hall to 12/1 first try everywhere else is roughly 8/1 would be nice to punish them after being robbed of the free bets

So let me get this right.

There is a player called Ryan Hall both for Leeds Rhinos and Leeds United, and both managers share the same name of Brian Mcdermott too?

Think we had him to score anytime tonight Smiley

Got very unstable internet so third attempt at this

The stayers ces trail at Newmarket tommorow is a fascinating race

3.40

At present Cosimo de Medici is as short as 5/1 for this, id be amazed if he isnt nearer 9/1 tommorow. Looked gone at the game before loving southwell last time but this isnt Southwell

Broxbourne perfectly solid

Eagle Rock not a stayer i like has had the benefit of easy leads the last two wins. However does stay and try so cant rule out totally

BROCKWELL 9/1 suggest £15 eway (365) progressive stayer, last run at Ascot can easily be ignored (shergar cup day jockey went to early at silly pace) shapes as if this marathon trip ideal and still unexposed compared to most of these

Other one i like is ORIENTAL FOX 12/1 betfred £10 eway

Still a maiden, very slow but seems to like the hustle and bustle of a big field. Last run harder to excuse but bred for a marathon trip (german through and through)

Wuth the 19 runners this is a decent enough eway heat.

CONFIRMATION ONLY

This is what we have;

3.40 Newmarket, today, both qtr odds first 4.....

Brockwell, £15 EW @ 8/1, BetVictor

Oriental Fox, £10 EW, BetFred

Daily Report

Profit on Month £624.31

Outstanding Bets £2836.90

Free bets to use - None

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=29

A net profit yesterday of £60 with a couple of long term positions ending in profit

The Boston Red Sox won the AL East. Originially the Red Sox was a cover bet for a position on the Rays to win. This looked pretty shrewd very soon after it was placed and last night, the Red Sox beat the Blue Jays 6-3 to win the division for a £200 profit less the £150 placed on the Rays

In LVCC2 the major teams all drew. With one game to play this meant Lancashire were Champions and Northants were confirmed to finish either second or third for an each way return at 20-1 for a profit of £40. Northants now need 5 points form their last game next week to secure promotion. Sweating them daily for five months, I've become quite attached to them, and I hope they make it, Not the worst 20-1 bet in the world!

In the losers column yesterday Ryan Hall and Wasps for -£30 combined

The end of September sees a number of positions close out

Going back to the Rays while we were all asleep a spectacular game played out. It took 6 hours 54 minutes over 18 innings - thats nine innings of extra time in the end. Ultimately a man called David DeJesus answered our prayers and hit a walk off run to beat Wild card rivals the Orioles 3-1

So, once again the Wild Card standings

Tampa Bay Rays    84    69
Cleveland Indians    84    70
------------------------------------
Texas Rangers    83    70
Baltimore Orioles    81    72
Kansas City Royals    81    72    .
New York Yankees 81    73

We have £80 combined on the Rays to wih the AL and then the World Series. We just need them to finish in the top two of these teams to give us a play off sweat.

In LVCC1 we also have a big sweat on Middlesex which is a £50 ew position at 7-1. Middlesex lost to Yorkshire yesterday and finished their games with 182 points

Sussex and Warwickshire have a game left to play next week and have 166 and 164 points respectively

If either win, Middlesex cannot finish third. If both draw, Middlesex are third. Sussex play champions Durham, Warwickshire play relegation threatened Derbyshire who must win to stay up. It is a maximum of 11 points for the draw

I am all for sweats but frankly Middlesex have disappointed a little in the second half of the season, lost a couple of games they shouldn't have and ultimately will probably frustrate us.

Still, we had a bet on Champions Durham to finish bottom, so its an inexact science!

In the Golf, I did a bit of research

Henrik Stenson's last eight tournaments he is -63 with 24 of 30 rounds in par or better with five top three finishes and a win.

With a bad wrist, the basis for the bet this week, he leads by 4 at the half way stage of the Fedex tour championship. We have three players in a match bet with him and one of those, Adam Scott is second at -6 so not a forlorn hope.

We may be depending on emerging star Jordan Speith to do the business. He's third overnight at -5 and we have a very nice looking £20 e/w at 33-1 for the weekend

A busy Saturday ahead. We already have positions in Boxing, racing and Golf and of course will be monitoring all our long term positions in football and F1 for tomorrow's report.

The Red Sox win the AL East. Isn't it odd that they all have goggles in the dressing room?

Thanks Tighty, & also well done on Northants. Also, for that remarkable cover bet on the Boston Red Sox, big thanks go to redarmi.

Even you must tire of all the daily reporting on the Baseball, with rarely a comment in return, but I fancy you rather enjoyed it.

Not done yet, either, we still have a great sweat going for them to win AL & World Series @ fancy prices.

Our Long Term posioions served us well yesterday, just when we most needed them. We ain't running too hot this week.

Today, it may all change though......

College football this weekend, Oregon have a bye before starting their in conference schedule for the season. Texas a & m are at home to southern Methodist who are the feature of a very good espn doc about corruption in college football in the 80's.

Any review maybe a little delayed on my end as I am off to watch notts at lords today, my first ever visit there!

I've got a ticket to the Villa-Spurs game on Tuesday in the carling cup. Was just saying yesterday I hope it doesn't go to extra time, as I have work on the morning.

Seven hours... People would be having hot dogs for lunch AND dinner

I went last year and I think Fred made a few quid on the over 6's market, as on arrival I noticed a short boundary one side. Smiley

Lords finals are fantastic....enjoy!
