Sarah Cawood was one of the presenters of The Girlie Show, possibly the most Nineties TV show of all time, as it replaced The Word IIRC. Also started the career of Sara Cox and a couple of other people I can't remember the names of.
The Girlie Show was a ladette-type programme and brought us the Spice Girls:
It's cleavage OR legs. Huge fashion faux pas that. Although, this was a different time, I guess...
So he was watching the same TV shite all those years ago as he does now?

Amazing how different Miss Victoria Adams looked, then.
Little did we know what was to come from them.

Just catching up with my admin after a busy weekend (ie reading every post ever made on Fred, as I have since day one!) and wanted to post thanks to u lovely chaps wishing me well/congratulating me after the GUKPT.
Sometimes I forget that everyone here is also a poker player as well as a sports betting ice cream or elder, it's like reading and contributing to Fred is what I do away from poker....not sure that's the message teeks wants on a poker forum lol.
Loved your report today Tighty, am on Desmond Decker in this NFL, let's gogogo
Nice one Jeff. The "sweat" would ordinarily belong on the main Poker Boards, but it seemed somehow more appropriate here, amongst "family". Rather you won it than anyone. (Except Thewy, vested interest & all that....).
The thanks to Tighty for his Report is really appreciated, too, the bloke really works hard on those, & they are a proper pain to do, as I know from having done them myself for a year.
All good, invest those winnings wisely.
I just had a look at your THM page, (yet to include your latest conquest), bit weird as I specifically recall the very first two entries on it. Marky might remember the 2nd one, too.

Here's a memory jerker for you. You look proper mean there.....
Congrats to Mr Kimber on a great result!
The Laddies cruise, what a trip that was. I can remember watching Jeff and Skalie playing the final onboard, but a lot of that cruise was very hazy, and it wasn't due to not sailing well
I'm sure that ship wasn't very stable, as I seemed to stagger around an awful lot...

I remember meeting Flushy at that tournament in 2005, some spotty posh kid trying to get me to play on Blue Sq...as if I'd cheat on Ladbrokes at the time lol. Were u also there Mr Tikay? Don't remember u from there.
Just looked at the result, remember the Swedish fella Hans Eskilsson who was third. He was a former footballer, had played in Scotland (Hearts maybe) and told me stories of when he'd come up against Gazza and how good he was. He always came and said hello all over the world and would tell me more footy stories, loved it, u didn't get that online!

Yup, I was there "working", but don't quite recall for whom, think it may have been Poker 425, which was the Wm Hill TV channel. I went there every year for 5 or 6 years straight.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Heads-Up_Poker_Championship
You won the World Heads Up in 2007 v a curly haired young man, bit of a David Gower lookalike back then, called Dan Carter, for those that don't frequent all of blonde he is "lucky scrote" on here.
The World Heads Up was a big thing then, but it sort of died when it left Barcelona.
They had TV coverage, too, best TV Poker coverage I've ever seen, Jon Shoreman organised it. He offered next door the TV Coverage one year for £750,000, lol!
One of the commentators was Paul "dotcom" Phillips, who I came to know very well. He kept the best blog ever ever ever, "extempore", which sadly ceased in 2009. Tighy & Tal would have loved that blog.

Omm mentioned his name, & it gave me so many memories.
I remember vividly his head movement "on the shot", which was a source of amusement, but he won a lot of Tourneys in the 90's.
He had a reputation for being surly with the Media, & I got a bit brainwashed by that, & took it at face value, not being aware that life had been so difficult for him. Later, I think he had bad back problems, too.

Tikay,
I would suggest you back Doncaster to beat Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, best price 13/5 with BetVictor, say £20?
I have commented before but Wednesday are truly woeful. They are playing only one recognised striker, there is no creativity and a key player at centre half, Antony Gardner is injured.
The players confidence is gone and Dave Jones seems to have lost them. They look like frightened rabbits in the headlights playing at Hillsborough.
I dont think the bookies realise just how bad they are. I know you will say the bookies know the results etc but 13/5 is excellent value. I think they have misjudged home advantage - there is no home advantage for Sheffield Wednesday right now.
By all accounts Doncaster are playing well and have Macheda from Man Utd up front who scored 2 in their last game and I believe its value.
I expect Donny's price to drop before Saturday.

My gut reaction is that it does look very big, Wednesday, by all accounts, are truly woeful at present, & yes, Dave Jones seems to have lost the plot a bit.
We have a few Donny experts on here who may have a view, too.
The only minor caveat is that this is a local derby, & so presumably, the form book goes out of the window a bit.
Good spot though, or it is imo.
Someone will doubtless remind me that the bookies know all this of course. Hoist by my own petard & all that.
Anyway, views anyone?

Circuit, yes. He used to practice remembering all the 5,6 & 7 word possibilities. (!). Was a Software nutcase, too. Very wealthy man I believe. Got banned by Harrahs/WSOP for insubordination.
He had children, Ivey was the first, & it changed his world forever, he doted on Ivey something shocking. His wife was quite a character too, she was best part of 7' tall, & very bright indeed.

Yeah back problems and also had a vertigo issue and some eye issue which was the reason he wore the sunglasses all the time. I always thought the biggest issue to his consistency was his grip. Looked like he was strangling a chicken out there yet he played with a fade! Weird...
