You'd think they would improve the online experience.........
26 September 2013 10:22
Betting company Ladbrokes has said that a poor performance in its online business will mean that profits for the year will be lower than predicted.
In what chief executive Richard Glynn said were “challenging” conditions, Ladbrokes issued its second profit warning of the year saying that, rather than the £27.5 million which it expected to make from its online arm, profits were likely to be between £10 million to £14 million.
Mr Glynn said: "Our digital earnings have been disappointing reflecting a lack of competitiveness in Sportsbook, lower margins than planned, and a greater disruptive impact than expected from the transition necessary to grow digital for the long term."
That Statement is near identical to every Statement they make every year, it's all very sad. That "transition to grow digital" has been in progress for over 5 years now.
Half the projected profits is prety dire in that line of business right now, which is booming.
The website is still a complete mess
I just cant fathom why somebody high up has not said look we need this sorting within a week without fail..
yeah - haven't placed a bet on the site since they moved to the "beta sportsbook". I clicked on a bet and nothing happened. Complained. Went back two weeks later. Same thing. So I withdrew what I had there and haven't been back.
Don't care if its my browser or laptop or cookies - its their problem not mine.
One thing though is that Glynn is the epitome of what is wrong in the world of CEOs - they get huge bonuses for quite simply doing their job and if they quite obviously fail - they don't even get the boot.

They just seem a bit shambolic. As well as the really bad website, when I had to cancel my bank card, they insisted I emptied my entire account of money before letting me change my card details. But then they refused to let me put the new card on because I had 2 ante post bets running. Then the money took about 3 weeks to get to my bank account (their target is 10 working days!). I spent some time trying to explain that I wouldn't be able to deposit for 12 months because of the ante post bets, they eventually relented only to effectively shut me down for backing the Derby winner.
Well done on the bonus, sir.

I managed to get a new account there recently for the first time in ages and was quite excited about it because I haven't been able to bet with them without using other people for a while. I was astounded at how bad their website was. It seemed like hit or miss whether my bet loaded into a betting slip there and trying to get a bet through often took 3 or 4 attempts. Was just an incredibly bad end user experience.

The guy who launched Blue Squirrel got poached to help improve Ladbrokes e-gaming division
He left after < 6 months because absolutely nothing he suggested was implemented.

Ha!
I just checked him on linkedin and he's back at Ladbrokes as "International Director & Group Strategy Director" over 12 years after he left!

PP offer money back (£100 max) on Superbowl if Broncos or 49s win*
£100 9/2 Seahawks therefore has to be value?
*PP reserve the right to exclude certain customers, so it would be good to know if Fred was excluded as it wouldn't be a bet without.....
