I think by my calcs we have 3x free bets, two from today and one from yesterday.

The 4.50 at Newmarket perhaps seems a place to look at with regards to using one of them. 9 runners and opens up at 4/1 & with mobile we have the offer of money back if second. I have used one of mine on Party Royal, personally don't think it's a bad place to use the free bet if we don't go on the favourite.

Obviously if the boss is awake that is!

But that horse is a little short (9/2) fir a free bet and bigger elsewhere (5/1).  It doesn't strike me as great free bet usage on the surface.  I'd tend to stick to those that Hills are best price on if I was punting.

Yeah - I wasn't putting mine up, but I think it would be a decent race to pick something out that is not one of the favs.

Fred is already on the Miami Dolphins to win the AFC East so not really a rec but more an observation.  Last week the Dolphins were slightly more than a 3 point favourite over the Falcons.    Home advantage in the NFL is worth about 3 points so effectively they are saying that the Dolphins are slightly better than the Falcons and so it proved with them winning by 4 points in a tight game.  This week the Dolphins divisional rivals New England travel to Atlanta and are a 2.5 point dog which says that New England are effectively a slightly better side than Atlanta.  From this we can surmise that overall the NFL betting market thinks the Patriots are a marginally better side than the Dolphins at the moment but if we look at the markets for the division New England are best priced 1/3 whilst the Dolphins are 7/2 with good old Paddy.  I think the Patriots should improve now they are getting Gronkowski back and more so when Amendola is back too but it is still too much of a difference imo.  Interestingly Pinnacle, whose punters are amongst the sharpest in NFL are only 13/5 about Miami.

Personally, I can see both sides of this, & I don't mind either way really.

For - they are fun, are +Ev, & help us tick over.

Against - they are time consuming.

Much like Fred overall, really.

Opinions from all who use thread welcome, & we'll make a decision in the next 2 to 3 days, one way or the other.

If we choose NOT to do them, & perhaps set up another thread, we'd need a volunteer to run the thread, as I can't cope with a seperate thread due to time issues, & I won't speak for Tighty &/or Mere, but I'd be surprised if they had the time to run two Spreadsheets. We could, of course, just stop doing them.

I think the point being made though is less extra spreadsheets and more they don't belong on a "tipping" thread because they "flatter" long term returns
