sure this will have been asked before or its totally obvious but....
is it better to take the extra each way place or to take the bigger price at 1 place less
example
belgian bill 40/1 bet365 with 5 places or 28/1 skybet 6 places
This one has been discussed before but I've given up working it out and now just do what Doobs says. He does some maths wizardry and I do as I'm told.
Interesting dynamic is in other sports. If you take Tiger Woods, personally, I think a lower price for another place in a major is a bad idea, as he isn't the kind of guy who finishes fifth in majors; it's all or nothing. Westwood or Garcia, different story.

Definitely 40/1, the extra place gets nowhere near compensating for the much worse price.

Did you do the maths on this on your maths thread? If not, would you bump and show us patzers when you get a few mins, please?

They never give you enough places for Westwood and Garcia.

This one is clear.
But you can roughly do it as new win part value through the worse price is roughly 29/41 = only 71% of the value of 40/1. The reduced place value is also 29/41, but you can multiply that by 6/5 for the extra place. But that is only 85% of the value of getting 40/1 over 5 places. So the 40/1 gives better win and place value.

Do you think Arsaadi from 11 along with Boonga Roo from 14 could make the pace for the lower/middle drawn numbers Chompy?
Very difficult to know with milers who#s got the best toe. In sprints you'd know who the out-and-out blasters are, but more of a guess at this distance. There'll be a few up there from various draws but Boonga the most likely leader for me.
Re: Haydock draw, there's rarely anything in it these days. If it's like a road I'd rather be high but otherwise any draw fine.

Got to do all these on will hill mobile as they are close to top price in all.
2.00 Berkshire at Evens
2.35 Kiyoshi at 5/2. We want Vorda to win, but this one is much shorter in the 1000 Guineas betting, so we should oppose Vorda today.
3.10 Sky Lantern at 2/1
One post, one acknowledgement, no thread clogging. One post, 100 moans, thread clogged.
If this is too much trouble this weekend then fair enough.
Hope Tikay's and Tighty's weekends aren't so bad.
Oi, Oi. First winner on the new thread. Berkshire 11/8, scraped home but they all count.

Anyone got a Stan James account? Vorda is still 33/1 for the 1000 Guineas. Very inconsistent with the odds in the Chevely Park. Door is going to be shut in 10 minutes.

Think Ladbrokes should pay 11/8. Don't think he can be restricted yet, but you never know.

She's obv decent Doobsy and I was looking at that 33-1 earlier in the week. But her trainer has said he always thought she'd be precocious and it sounds like the Pouliches is a more likely target next spring.
