Shouldn't back horses - mug's game.
£50 @ 4-1 seems sensible, and a chuckaway fiver at 50s on both losing a player.
Sigh.
Glory be for PP Restricting us.
BETS PLACED
Tiddlearsey £20 or a respectable £50?
Billy Hills going 4/1 too

We had £30 in total with WH on a red card.
The other market is only with Paddy Power, and I loaded up to the very maximum on that.

Mukhadram runs in the Champion Stakes.
The ground at Ascot is soft at the moment but only the odd shower is forecast for the next two days, so it should dry out a bit.
We're not going to be left in a terrible spot with the 12-1. At worst we'll be able to lay it back at the same price, either most of it or all of it. Leave till Saturday morning imo.
I'm not a fan of stats but would suggest we ought to be having more than a nibble on the red card bet given those numbers.
With Declaration of War coming out why would Mukhadram have drifted to 9-1. Just the ground? Haggas is pretty adamant it will go in soft, and as a front runners the others would have to get past him in the mud...
Ryan Moore has chosesn Ruler of the World over Hillstar. Pushed it into 8-1
I note Morandi is into 14-1 in spots too. Doobs put us on at 20-1

I think we all expected it to cut up to the usual 6/7 so having 10 has probably allowed them to adjust.
Farrh and Ruler both being declared wasn't expected either.

Max bet on Townsend- he will go,barring injury
Big bet in Fraser foster there is hardly any English keepers and evens is huge
11/10 on Chris stalling is big he is versatile and ahead of Phil jones in pecking order and England have v few centre halfs
9/1 Jordan Henderson seems big if he plays often for Liverpool I see him taking miners position more, than 1 in 9 times especially ifmmilner doesn't get a game at city (pellegrini loves Jesus navas who plays in same position)
Saido beharino at 20s could take defoes place. He is scoring lots of goals and featuring at west brom and n great form for England. If Defoe is injured he is natural replacement. Would suggest small bet
4/11 for glen Johnson I'd bet big. He's 1/5 elsewhere. Bet is with bet victor
1/3 Danny welbeck with sky bet is too big he's 1/8 elsewhere and will go. Doesn't get jnjured much
I don't have a strong enough knowledge to quibble with those views Patrick, but they accord with the views of most experts, I'd say.
I'm not sure we'll be doing any though, we have to tie money up for 9 months, & with "player betting" we have to trust to luck that they don't get injured. Off the top of my head, I'd suggest we need to include for a 10% risk of any single player being unavailable due to injury. The Premier League season is a long long road.
Taking those 2 factors into account, I'm not sure backing 4/11 & 1/3 shots stacks up, or not for me, anyway.
Hope you win the lot.
Fair enough, see you in 6 months for some chirping!

I wouldn't want to lock up the money for so long on a 1/3 chance and we have a big forward book, and you could get that return on the money in that time just by betting well. I don't see much harm in the two outsiders for a long punt, though not sure understudy to Defoe sells him well, given Defoe is probably missing the squad right now. I know Hodgson is conservative, but the kid has 6 months to force his way in.

tikay
get whatever betfair sportsbook will allow (it wont be more than £15) on Noel King next roi manager at 16/1
they ARE NOT best price but there is a reason to use them which i will explain later
edit brief reasoning
betfair and betfair sportsbook settle on the rules after a manager has been in charge for 3 games (INCLUDING FRIENDLIES) even if he is still at that point termed a interim manager.coach
King has now been in charge for 2 games on this basis
ROI currently have no friendlies planned on the 15 + 19 th Nov, however it has emerged today they are in discussions to have two on these dates.
If King is still in charge for the first one then betfair and betfair sportsbook pay out on there rules on this market
Downsides
Friendly/ies may not happen should do though its a date were others are playing
Someone else appt before then
Other firms may have same rules but it is not that clear and 16/1 is near enough top price anyway

Sorry John, I can't find this market on Betfair Sportsbook, only on the Exchange.
I can get 20/1 elsewhere, but no idea how they might settle in the scenario you describe.

I more or less back caretaker managers blind as ive had huge success in the past doing this and the prices are obv ridic.
Funnily was thinking of backing Mr King for this due to above but forgot about it.
Cheers Horsey, win or lose love the bet.
