We had "run good" in a couple of spots for the two winners
- +£100.10 on Tampa Bay +9.5 at Atlanta. They lost by 8, when 31-20 down with not long remaining they kicked a field goal to get within one score of Atlanta. We had to survive a couple of minutes, and Atlanta ran the clock down with no further attempt to score
- +£40 on Cleveland/Green Bay under 45, which finished with 44 points. With two minutes to go Cleveland were driving hoping for quick points, and had 1st and goal inside the Packers 10 yard line. We were heavy odds on to lose the bet. A completed pass and two incompletions later it was 4th and goal. A field goal was no good for them so...an under fire Cleveland Quarterback Brandon Weeden threw it into the end zone. Wide receiver Greg Little, who has hands of stone, dropped the ball when unmarked. Green Bay got the ball back and ran out the clock.
That's how to have a winning day!
The Miami-Buffalo points line was a push
Losers yesterday
- The Exeter Chiefs narrowly failed to win in Glasgow - £20
- Fiona Fullarton lived to dance another week in Strictly goes on Forever - £20
- Richard Silvrikrin failed to score a try at Northampton -76p
To longer term stuff
- Paulinho did not score for Spurs. He remains on 1 for the season. Spent most of the match resolutely in front of the back four and didn't cross his half way line and it didn't look to promising, tbh, until he created Soldado's goal
- Clermont beat Quins but Nalaga was on the bench. Unhelpful
In the NFL
- A huge result for the Bengals who beat the Lions away on the last kick of the game. With Baltimore and Cleveland losing the Bengals at 5-2 are two games clear in the lead of the AFC North. Bengals now 2/7 to win their division and 8-1 to win the AFC
- A monster win for the Chiefs 17-16 over the Texans. They, at 7-0 are now the NFL's last undefeated team as the Broncos lost by Six points in Indy. Strike another one for Homer ChReffers. Denver remain 4/7 to win the divisiion despite being a game behind, KC 100/30. This reflects a couple of factors. The Chiefs and the Broncos have to play each other twice, and a feeling that the Chiefs win despite their offense. The Chiefs do though have the best Defense in the league currently and this, and a top running back, can carry them a long way. Anyway, on a 7-1 for the division, we have a shot
- Miami lost at home to Buffalo, but the Jets beat the Patriots too so the AFC East looks tight all of a sudden. Not out of that bet yet
- The Titans scored 17 points against the 49ers. Not bad this, as all 17 points came in garbage time. The Titans are in a run of playing very tough defenses. Waiting for the schedule to flatten out a bit for them to score some points above what we need
- Quarterbacks. Brees on a bye and a decent day for Stafford 357 yards and Ryan 273 yards respectively. Stafford is immeasurably helped by having Calvin Johnson fully fit again. On one play Stafford flung the ball 60 yards into the endzone. Johnson outjumped three defenders and clung on for the touchdown. thats 60 yards onto Stafford's stats!
- The Eagles looked horrible at home to Dallas, particularly at Quarterback, but again that is a tight division. A run by any team gives a shot at getting into the play-offs
