Ravel Morrison 12/1 first and 5/1 anytime goal scorer on saturday?
He is west hams joint top goal scorer with 4 goals in 10 games, West ham are currently without Vaz Te who is their other joint scorer. No Carroll eiter and Maiga hasnt played for the last 3 games so their striking options are limited. Norwhich don't really have any prolific scorers either and just got thumped 7-0 by city, this could work against the bet though as they will be playing much tighter are letting in 7 and trying to tighten up their defense, plus west ham are no man city. I still think 5/1 for a player who has scored 4 goals in 10 games is a bit big, especially as I think he will be the most likely threat from a team with limited striking options.
Does anyone have any views on this?
This is the one that got away, think it was 2 days ago. No idea if I would have got on, but I was AWOL most of Thursday.
Nice one Mr Sparrow, I shall pay more attention next time.
Oddly, a "No Scorer" suggestion for this game was made today, but we never got on that, either.

Great shout Ali, another one that got away from me today...
I was sweating 0-0 in the Palace game with Stelling's mob, so was my mate who had gotten on too at 10/1
Both giving it the oioi when FT comes in, and I notice that I have Skybet still open in a browser. Bet there with my £20 stake entered ready to deposit and confirm. The only thing was I had gotten distracted by the postie, and not put the bet on.

LOL ouch, sods law that the one you forget to place is a winner!
Thanks for the kind words too horsey et al, I should maybe be more vocal in my opinions rather than putting them as semi suggestions. I've had quite a good run in the goal scorer markets for awhile now, long may it continue.

Yes, be more assertive. But not on a Saturday morning, pre- latte.
As it happens, my bad mood saved us a few bob this morning, we swerved a good few losers. Not the traipsing one though.

Swings & Roundabouts... Suarez is looking good now, and I had all but written that bet off in the summer when Tighty quite rightfully informed me he could well leave!

My NFL Column this week talks about the Bengals. We are well placed, but there are clouds on the horizon due to injuries
"Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens
Every team is dealing with injuries at this point in the season, but the Bengals have been hit with huge injury problems.
All-Pro defensive tackle Geno Atkins went down with a season-ending ACL injury last week to become the fourth defensive starter (along with No. 1 corner Leon Hall, safety Taylor Mays and Defensive End Robert Geathers) to land on the Injured Reserve. Starting middle linebacker Rey Maualuga and Andy Dalton’s blind-side Andrew Whitworth missed last week’s game and will both probably be on the sidelines again this Sunday when the Bengals visit the Ravens.
That said, the Bengals are in a relatively comfortable place in the AFC North standings. They’re 6-3, and the rest of the division — Browns (4-5), Ravens (3-5) and Steelers (2-6) — is a mess. However, a loss on Sunday might open the door for Baltimore to sneak back into the race, especially with a second Bengals/Ravens game on the last game of the season.
The biggest thing working against that potential Ravens revival? They’re just not that good this season. Their biggest issue is the running game which has resulted in Baltimore averaging a league-low 2.78 yards a carry this year However all the indications are that Ray Rice is finally healthy and ready to have a far more effective second half of the season. With Atkins missing, the stars are aligned for this to begin on Sunday
To see the Ravens priced as 2 point underdogs on the spread to a Bengals team so beat up is an opportunity. The Ravens need to win badly, they are at home and the spread offered reflects the risks"

Haven't had a bet yet but this is also one of the few I like this week.
I think this game may be a good opportunity to introduce Fred to the delights of NFL teasers. This is a really great game to use in teasers. Can anyone give me an idea which books Fred has access to offer teasers (if any)
You'll have to explain this to me, Stu. Use short words, please.
Okay - so teasers are bets offered by some bookmakers (they are very popular in the States) in American football and basketball where in return for having to bet more teams you get a better handicap. In NFL it is generally 6,6.5 or 7 points. So lets take the example of the Ravens and Denver games. The Ravens +2 10/11 and Denver are -7 10/11. In this example you can "tease" Baltimore to +8 and Denver to -1 with a 6 point teaser and they both would have to cover the news spreads for you to get paid at, say, 10/11. 95% of the time in NFL and almost always in college football and all basketball these bets are a bookmakers benefit but there are certain spots where they represent very good value. Normally this is when you can tease across key pointspreads such as 3 and 7 but also sometimes when the totals are very low and each point becomes worth more. The more I think about this the more I realise the potential for epic misclickages....and to be honest I am not sure which firms offer them in the UK but they do offer some value in certain spots and I think the Ravens and potentially Tampa Bay and Philadelphia are good "teaser" teams this week.
Go on, put up a bet for us please !

Has Jaffa murdered someone up in Blackpool this week? Our two bankers are turning into rhyming slang.
These are the two biggest bets I've ever had I think....lovin life, massive swing for me. You should see how I ran at poker this week as well, badbeat stories galore. Talkin of Ravel Morrison, I backed him at 20/1 his first game this season FGS, he failed to deliver but has on three other occassions since, not backed him once. 20/1 musta been some price if we think 12s is value now.
To top of a fab week, I just noticed on the GPI UK poker rankings I'm ranked 287 in the country, two behind a Mr T. Kendall. Jesus Christ

Kendall Wright first TD for the Titans looks to be well overpriced with PP @ 13/1 (best price 9/1 elsewhere)
http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl/jacksonville-jaguars-at-tennessee-titans/first-touchdown-scorer
He looks to be getting a lot of receptions, so I suggest £10 (£2.59 is fine too)
You also have the added bonus of double odds if he scores first, and then scores again later in the game. With them being big favourites this looks to be quite a decent bet*
*Unless he has lost an arm leg since the last update on nfl.com
Recommend
£10 Kendall Wright @ 13/1 PP (best price 9/1 everywhere else)
£10 Delanie Walker @ 14/1 PP (best price 9/1 everywhere else)
Tidy it up a bit for 'Misclick Kendall'

Titans ran through the Rams last week, so Wright only got 5 targets. But he's predicted to score highly against Jacksonville in Fantasy this weekend.
I'm in.
