I am going to urge caution on Newcastle

Pardew was recently quoted as saying the europa league is "a complete waste of time" and "i dont want us to be in it again next season"

This is obviously of the back of nearly getting sacked last season when he could not manage the squad correctly when the fixtures starting stacking up.

So its either Champions League (Still unlikely) or finishing in Europa League places which manager has stated he does not want to do again....

Do you really think he'd "throw" League positions if CL was out of site so as to swerve Europa?

Be easier to qualify for Europa, & then just make no effort (weakened Teams) in the early rounds, surely?

I don't see him throwing points to avoid Europe either, but I think they can almost win the handicap without hitting European qualification.

I wouldn't go crazy with stakes as you have to invest for a long time.  Just another £20 on the nose feels fine.  I think the place bet is probably closer to 0EV, but the 12/1 looks fine in what looks a 6 runner race with them near the front.

OK, we've done the deed. I pre-empted your reply slightly, & plonked £25 on the nose @ 12/1, in case it went, so thats the bet.

We are the Toon Army!

Plinop will be chuffed to bits.

BET PLACED

Doobs, this bet is Newcastle with how many points on the handicap? Do you know?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/american-football/25186609

Saw this and the commentator said its going to be the best catch of the season (something along the lines of thats as good a catch as you will see any player make in the nfl all season). Is this a case of an american over exaggerating or really the truth? Im personnally not that impressed by the catch i was just thinking what was the defender doing? Why does he not try and catch it and why does he not nail the attacker, he seems to have no idea where the ball is? Really trying to understand NFL more but somethings like this just get me confused again if this is the best then for me its just not very impressive/good enough.

Am i too biased? This catch seems a lot better to me and it probably wont be in the top 5 this year in international cricket.

I already put up Williams to be booked in tonight's game at 15/2 as a value bet, but it is worth finding team news as soon as it is available and if jonjo shelvey starts up front for Swansea then the 9/1 for first goal scorer is too big IMO.  He is as low as 11/2 in places, also top price 10/3 anytime (abit bigger on betfair at the time of writing). Very team news dependant though, also if any elders would like to back up the bet or tell me it's not a good price then that would be appreciated.

meant to look at that sparrow as Swansea without all 3 senior strikers? (i think?)

if so and its shelvey or whoever starting upfront looks a decent bet

Reports are bony and Michu back in training, I am not sure if they are fit enough to start though.  Shelvey is joint second top scorer as it is, if starting up front then should be a good bet.  Betvictor have priced him up at 7/4 fav for most shots, ladbrokes have him at 5/1.  Ladbrokes are slow at adjusting prices when team news is released I think. Well only saying that because when Defoe started up front Saturday he was 6/1 most shots betvictor, 5/1 ladbrokes, as soon as team news was released betv cut his price in half and ladbrokes left it.  So maybe that's another route to go? If he starts up front on his own the most shots at 5/1 is quite big, He averages 2.1 shots per game, bony 2.9 and Michu top of the pile on 3.  Team news should be out on their twitter page first at 7pm and then it's easier to decide if you want to play, but their could be some value in him for sure.

Quick update on the banzai that is Jack Topping for xmas no 1:

His album has gone straight to no 1 on the classical charts beating Andre Rieu and Catherine Jenkins. He is also opening the Royal Variety performance tonight and is on daybreak in the morning. They are certainly doing what they can to give him the exposure he needs for 16th December release date.

get following and retweeting on @officaltopping

michu and shelvey starting

BV and lads unsure as to who will have most shots.

Michu 7/1 betv 2/1 lads
Shelvey 9/4 betv 5/1 lads.

If michu is fit the 7/1 most shots is huge.  I'm just going to leave my bets as they are as i have enough to cheer on so far.
