Daily ReportProfit on the Month £626.76Outstanding Bets £2964.54https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=33A profit of £192 yesterday, with one of the key season long NFL bets coming in to virtually guarantee a profit on that sub-portfolio
The Cincinnati Bengals smashed the Minnesota Vikings and when the New England Patriots pummelled the Baltimore Ravens, the Bengals had won the AFC North for a £230 profit. This Guarantees the Bengals their first play-off game at home, where they are 7-0 this season. Now the challenge is to trade correctly around the £50 at 16-1 we have on them to win the AFC where they are now 7-1 third favourites. They have to go through either or both of New England and Denver to get to the Superbowl, which is a tough ask, but we have a shot
Elsewhere yesterday in the profit column
- The Arizona Cardinals beat the Seattle Seahawks, ending Seattle's 15 game home winning streak. They were 10 point underdogs
- The Giants beat the imploding Lions in overtime, again as 10 point dogs
- Sadly the Raiders let me down for the treble, in circumstances that were a touch irking for ladies of a certain dispoosition
Still the three bets returned +£24
In Rugby Union the inclement weather and the toothless Worcester Warriors combined to give a £20 profit on a points unders bet
Losers
- Jack was not topping the charts - £5
- None of the seven first TD scorers came in for the Paddy Power offer -£36
- The Miami Dolphins did not win the AFC East - £40
- The Chiefs lost and now cannot win the AFC West, so that free bet was closed off
Longer term stuff
Southampton lost again, and are slipping down the table. From the heady heights of the top four, injuries struck their back four and they do not seem to have the strength in depth to withstand them. Remains a long long stretch to have them anywhere near going down, though
Bilbao beat Rayo V 2-1. They are 13 points behind A Madrid in the bet to win La Liga minus the top 2, Villareal 17 points behind
The Tennessee Titans scored a humdrum 20 points in beating the Jags. To win a £75 at 17/10 eason points bet the Titans need to score 9 points against the 2-13 Texans next week. We'd be doing well to lose this one
The Eagles walloped the Bears 54-11 to take the NFC East into a one game showdown next week at the Cowboys. Winner makes the play-offs. The loser is out. Dangerous team the Eagles, if they make the play-offs. I think they will
Quarterbacks. Not an easy day for Brees or Stafford. Brees: conditions and the suffocating Carolina defense. Stafford: His inconsistency, coaching, teammates and generally being the perennially underperforming Detroit Lions
Amidst all this the peerless Peyton Manning broke Tom Brady's record by throwing his 51st TD of the season and putting up another 400+ passing yards
1 Peyton Manning, QB DEN 5,211
2 Drew Brees, QB NO 4,781
3 Matthew Stafford, QB DET 4,433
4 Philip Rivers, QB SD 4,249
---------
5 Tom Brady, QB NE 4,221
6 Ben Roethlisberger, QB PIT 4,082
7 Andy Dalton, QB CIN 4,015
8 Matt Ryan, QB ATL 3,887
Brees will be an each way winner, its a bit nervy for the Stafford bet though. Ryan plays at the 49ers tonight. 372 yards gets him in the top 4. Very unlikely at the 49ers, but something to watch anyway
