Arizona survived a bit of a scare last night beating Washington 71 - 62 after being down as many as  6 points midway through the 2nd half Nick "bunnies" Johnson led the team with 24 pts.

Some other teams in the top 10 struggled also #2 Syracuse won an ugly low scoring game 49-44 #6 Oklahoma state were beaten by Kansas state and making all the Headlines were the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame who beat #7 Duke in a thriller 79-77.

Thanks moony.

What is the timeline of this bet, how long does it last?

Is there a League Table sorta thing we can follow?

Nice job on the sixes Maldini  thumbs up

Ski Slalom is tomorrow early afternoon if anyone wishes to watch. Two runs, the final run later in the afternoon. Not as exciting as downhill, but 10ths of a second will decide it. I'll update Fred if there is a sweat.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £97.53

Outstanding Bets £2832.12

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=34

A loss of £77 yesterday, which was -£127 with nine completed bets and nine losers until The Sixes bet came in this morning for a profit of £50

It all just felt a bit frantic yesterday, sometimes symptomatic of a busy Saturday, and we probably suffered in our rush to get stuff on without due contemplation.

That said, we undoubtedly had some exceptional circumstances in the NFL which conspired against us

At 41-10 up in the third quarter, the Kansas City Chiefs were, according to the statistical models employed by the Vegas books, a 99.7% shot to advance in the play offs

Some Andrew Luck brilliance later, the Colts won 45-44 and our 8-1 bet on the Chiefs to be the highest scoring team this weekend was in flames.

The poor Chiefs, had a wonderful season but were completely done by injuries to six starters during the game including the wonderful Jamaal Charles. As one old NFL Coach said as knees went on the artificial turf "If a cow can't eat it, I don't want my players playing on it"

Later the Eagles superbowl bet went at the hands of a superb defensive performance by the Saints. This was a triple whammy. Ertz dropped a difficult first touchdown pass in the end zone (strike one), the Saints took away McCoy and held him to 77 rushing and 15 receiving (strike two) and despite being +2 in turnovers the Eagles both failed to cover and lost (strike three and strike four for some of us)

We most likely have another £25 loss to come unless the Green Bay game tonight which will be played in -30c Wind chill exceeds 90 points. Quite.

The NFL aside, yesterday was unimpressive

Alfreton lost at Barnet

Bertie Milan lost at Newcastle

Jack Payne did not score at Kidderminster

The Lucky15 had two wins in Stoke and Coventry, but lost overall

In better news Perri Kiely looked a natural diving talent, I thought, as you would expect from a professional tumbler. In bad news I watched it.

The Ashes is finally over. To capitulate in three days having won the toss and had the opposition 97-5 on the first morning meant England reached new lows. Australia scored over 1000 runs more than England and took 34 more wickets in this Ashes series. They won a 5 match series 6-0.

Kris Commons first goalscorer 4/1

10 times he has done it this season. He is the same price as Stokes who couldn't strike a match. When Shearer was all the rage he was getting down to 5/2 for this market and his record wasn't a lot different.

Incredible price in my view. In fact if you could guarantee 4/1 every week for the rest of the season you'd be gutted not to be a right few quid up.

Thanks Rich, great stuff, & nowhere near as bad as feared, though some bad stuff remains imminent I guess.

Can I assume all the Ashes bets are now deemed to be settled? I am reminded, as I happened to spot that Corals have settled our Broad bet this morning - well done on that one. Think it effectively paid for our other Ashes bets? (£50 @ 3/1)

Yes I have closed off all the Ashes bets

Our series bets netted us £1

As Australia 5-0 was 100-1 ante post, no England batsman performed and only Broad and Stokes emerged with any credit, that the Australian wicketkeeper nearly top scored with 500 runs and Mitchell Johnson, routinely derided as hopeless by generations of the barmy army, took nearly 40 wickets.....

....that £1 is a right touch

M1

Thanks Sandy.

Celtic are 1/3, I think, so goals can be expected.

To my naive eye, 4/1 Commons FGS is huge.

I'm thinking maybe £25?

Anyone else have a view?

I suppose the price must be right, as 4/1 is widely available, but it does look big.

Wow, that, unlike our batsmen, is serious run-good.

Well done, & phew.

I can barely think of a positive from the Ashes, except Broad, who I thought did just fine. Boycott did his round up this morning, characteristically scathing, but he got it spot on I thought. Johnson apart, the Aussies are fairly pedestrian, & England have, (or had?) arguably, 7 or 8 "world-class" players. We just never applied ourselves.

And KP, in particular, after all the histrionics of the last 12 months, was the biggest disappointment of all. Never mind his talent, if I were an England selector, I'd never ever consider him again, lack of application, & wasting such amazing talent, is unforgiveable in my eyes. Doubt he's too keen on me, either, but there you go.

Team Management was also dreadful, they allowed it to happen, & they must pay some bills now.

If England Test Cricketers can't get motivated for an Ashes Series - the pinnacle of any England cricketers career - then it's a rum do.

The Bengals is a big game for us tonight, first on on Sky

£50 at 16-1 to win the AFC

To do that they need to go through the Chargers, then the Patriots then the Broncos/Colts

They are 6.5/7 point favourites over the Chargers

This is probably too high, and after last night we should expect the unexpected

The Niners/Green Bay game later should be a classic cold weather game, the 49ers are 2.5 points favourites away and I am queasy about taking that against Rodgers too

I wrote up a couple of individual player markets, with detailed explanations as to the justification as to why both were interesting given the make up of the two sides, this morning.

Think both are far more attractive than trying to beat -6.5 and -2.5 if you like the Bengals/Niners.

It is but it's also a one off. If it was for the next 19 games you'd be laughing.

I assume this refers to your BetPal articles?

Well before 20 Shop Sonour gets on my case, I'd better offer them up for debate, & a decision of whether to have a bet. Personally, I think we should, but let's try to be a little less hasty today & invite feedback.

The article is here.....

Positives from the ashes- Ben stokes has some talent and fight. I wouldn't even agree with broad tbh.

I would really like to go 5/10 years in the future now and read what was going on behind the scenes on this tour.
