The point against Jan is

- He is paid £2.95m
- He has 2.5 years left on contract
- Its a lot of wedge to fire him
- The porn barons are actually pretty patient

In favour

- Its more of a cost to go down
- The Olympic stadium due for end 2015, at which time they would be under a year from losinjg parachute payments.
- Whilst this has clauses for lower revenue Champ football vis a vis Premiership, the directors can try to do something about that now

I wouldn't be piling into 9/4, 2/1 and lower

but 4/1 seemed crazy.

I had the GG BOG email from BMU today, which was a surprise.

I've done alright out of them, because they're often best priced on horses and football, but I make sure I put a fair quota of trixies and trebles through for bowl stakes, too.

I actually withdrew some money to pay my credit card bill, and the email arrived the following morning, so I was wondering if they have thresholds with points to withdraw perks etc.

I just think BOG is a myth with them.  They prob have it for new accounts and huge losers.  As you say they are quite often best price even quite late on with horses, so the BOG is often irrelevant.

Arizona survived a bit of a scare last night beating Washington 71 - 62 after being down as many as  6 points midway through the 2nd half Nick "bunnies" Johnson led the team with 24 pts.

Some other teams in the top 10 struggled also #2 Syracuse won an ugly low scoring game 49-44 #6 Oklahoma state were beaten by Kansas state and making all the Headlines were the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame who beat #7 Duke in a thriller 79-77.

Thanks moony.

What is the timeline of this bet, how long does it last?

Is there a League Table sorta thing we can follow?

As moonandback says it finishes in march (possibly early April). The winner is decided by the NCAA tournament where 68 teams (4 play in games) play an fa cup straight knockout tournament which is seeded based on regular season performance.

This is known as "March madness" in the us and is truly huge over there especially from a gambling point of view. Vegas has some of their best weekends in March when the tournament is on as people flock to town to bet on the games.

It would be a huge surprise if Arizona weren't to make the tournament from here and then it gets interesting!

Thanks Mark.

Curiously, I just looked at the betslip, & it gives 18th March as the settlement date.....

18 Mar 2014 - NCAA Championship 2014 - Championship Winner

Perhaps that is when the knockout thingie commences?

I really love bets like this, NFL Outrights, Football Season, Ashes, etc, nice long sweat, followed by, we hope, a major sweat at the death.

Just checked and you are right this is when the tournament starts. The final four (semis and final) are being held first weekend in April (5-7) at the Dallas cowboys stadium.

Crikey, that must be quite a thing, that is the amazing stadium with the massive plasma/TV screens, right? I'd love to see that place, must be awesome.

NBA games are usually in much smaller venues, are they not?

Does it sell out for the NBA thing? Bet the atmo is extraordinary.

Yup jerryworld as it is known after cowboys owner Jerry Jones, he decided to try build a stadium as big as his ego and nearly managed it!

The last 4 NCAA finals have been held at nfl stadiums, with attendance in excess of 70000. Quite something and an event which barely anyone outside of the us knows or cares about.

NBA stadiums generally have a capacity of about 20k, having attended a couple of nba games I would have thought it would be very hard to follow the action from the back row of an nfl stadium.

I only know about it from a Vegas forum I'm a member of, but a lot of them head there for MM. Some of the trip reports of some are pretty com, and they go pretty crazy over it.

I remember the year I was out in Vegas for ages during the WSOP, and it was mental during the NBA playoffs. I only watched it, because I remember Ivey saying he had bet a million on one of the sides to win the championship.

Yeah, it won't make much difference for the reasons you've given.

I was just surprised to get it as I've never had any problems getting on, and Paddy restricted me massively before I got BOG taken.

You are right Mr T that my tip was up later than usual. Because of yesterday's poor run of results I wanted to put up a tip that was really strong, and I found weaknesses in all of the markets I was looking at so I decided to give it a miss. However, when I read the Racing Post at the bookies, they had put the Bath +7 bet up and realised straight away what a good bet it was and that I had overlooked that market entirely. So I curtailed my trip and came back to put it up with not much time to spare. I feel that karma was on my side after that good turn as I backed the draw in both the union games.

Yes, my account is still active.

Betfred and Paddy had restricted me before I lost BOG, so I didn't expect it.

Well done hector, knew there must be a reason. It's always so nice when I get a bit of time to sort things out.
