Really surprised to see Victors Serenade as big as 16s for the Betfair Chase @ Warwick tomorrow.

Promising heavy ground chaser a couple of years ago, he has had some niggles and wisely not been forced. Made his seasonal debut back over hurdles and ran very satisfactorily and not put back over fences to protect his mark.

I suggested this earlier in the week to a couple of mates, but have now seen several "recognised" tipsters put him up and so I'm very surprised his price has held up, as one of few with the right profile to take it.

Not a mega strong fancy but worth a Fred Jeff Kenna ew at 16s

Word of caution, and reason for the tempered recommend. Choc Thornton riding............Waaaah waaaah waaaah waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Its probably marginally value. Whether or not its the optimal use for your money given it will be tied up for a few weeks is obviously another matter to consider

and also the counterparty risk to consider

Thanks for the replies guys.

Tournament only lasts for a week so I don't mind my money to be tied for the coming week.

The risk is a matter to consider.

is it worth getting a slightly bigger price for the worry about getting paid if it wins?

Do you mean that the Greek bookmaker won't pay me if my bet wins?

Well its probably the best Greek bookmaker that exists. Its like the Greek Bet365. Fast payments, great live streaming and trustworthy.

Oh I forgot the best part. It also pays tax to the Greek goverment.

If you are talking about the WH refund if second then WH at 14/1 is worth about an additional 6.7% if we assume that the horse has the same chance of finishing 2nd as it does of finishing 1st.

16/1 is more than 7% better than 14/1 so the 16/1 is better.

Afternoon Mr T.

This evenings rugby match between Ulster and CESM's throws up an opportunity. Ulster have won all 4 of their Heineken matches and will be hoping to seal top spot and home advantage throughout the knockout stages. They will be going all out for 4 tries tonight for a bonus point. CESM's on the other hand are all ready out of the competition and have sent over their reserves to play for what is to them an unwanted, meaningless fixture.

I think the best way to approach this is to back A.Trimble to score a try at anytime. I make him about 4/5 and we can get 5/4.

Suggest £20 Trimble @ 5/4 with Corals.

Agreed.  You can't make a 14/1 chance more than 15/1 with the offer.  This is why short prices are so good.  Getting near 2/1 about an even money chance is great, getting near 15/1 on a 14/1 chance is a bit meh.

Edit, you can get the bet365 offer and 16/1 which obviously adds a bit if you can ever remember to put the bet on the next race (I am hopeless at this).
