The Tax office deal remains confidential but it understood to relate to the years 2004-2011 only.[13] Insiders report the settlement figure was $680m, to be paid over 12mths

yikes

I think Hector might have to agree to upping his stakes a bit

Anyone got any thoughts on the Oscars betting after the Golden Globes last night? Neil C, I think, last year was on the case?

First bet proposed on this thread was for the Academy Awards.

I see U2 won a Golden Globe last night for their Mandela song.

Matthew McConaughey winning best actor for Dallas Buyers Club, was a surprise to me. I'm on Chiwetel Ejiofor in the Oscars.

With apologies for the lack of daily reports the last few days, have been struggling with time and fitness

We are currently down £124 for the month. In large part this is due to me/Drew Brees which I felt terrible about. In a weekend dominated by defensive football, bad weather and where no winning quarterback in the four games exceeded 230 yards passing Brees struggled for three quarters and then started to get hot. These bets can depend a lot on game flow and when Seattle left him time on the clock, I knew we were done, as he had no choice but to get down the field quickly and Seattle started to go more conservative.

Anyway, Examiner and Captain Chris aside (nice winners on Saturday) its been a bad few days with Tennis, Rugby Union, Football and NFL losses to take

Long term portfolio looks decent in a few spots though, and I will be back with normal service from tomorrow

Get well soon Rich.

I've no regrets on the Brees thing. It was almost comical, we could see it coming. And it came.

I awoke on Sunday morning & thought "did we really lose that Brees bet?". So I checked again. We did.

Tony,

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I said not to worry about the Watford bet?

Well now is the time to start worrying.

Thanks

Dear Phil,

I'm suitably un-re-assured.

Best regards.....

Went to the game on Saturday and Watford were very unlucky to be fair.  Had enough chances to win 3-1 or so but kept putting the ball into orbit.

A couple of new players in I think before the end of the month and they are playing much better under Sannino.   I'd still expect a finish of between 5th and 12th, but of course the season has a certain dead rubber feel to it now being 9 points adrift of playoffs.

The last bet settled on my Boylesports account was on December 22nd, which was £24 @ 5/6 on a RU Unders single.

My last 8 bets there produced 4 wins, & 4 losses. Average bet size was about £40, & I made a net gain of around £30 in total on those 8 bets.

Monsta punter, me, right up there with this lad. Bigger, maybe.

Wow, that is some tax settlement.   I feel I must have wasted my maths degree.

I've got a funny story about Mr Ranogajec.

I'll tell you in the summer at our yearly baseball trip if you buy the hot dogs.

Bloody hell.

It wasn't a typo.

I've spent all weekend thinking West Ham won 1-0.

What a twit

I had the same problem - it was because one of the West Ham players said they won 1-0 in the post match interview which made the BBC feed!
