(I mentioned to you on Twitter Tighty but for others here)...pretty sure all bookmakers consider the Oscars a related contingency. Seems fair really. Singles only.

The six main Oscars markets all have odds-on favourites ahead of tonight's Hollywood ceremony and the six-fold is currently paying c 2.1/1 about all six favourites winning.

They are:

12 Years A Slave (best picture),

 Alfonso Cuaron (best director),

 Matthew McConaughey (best actor),

Cate Blanchett (best actress),

Jared Leto (best supporting actor) and

Lupita Nyongo (best supporing actress).

It is the latter market which is the closest to call, according to the odds.

Nyongo is a best of 5/6 with Stan James for her appearance in 12 Years A Slave,

American Hustle star Jennifer Lawrence available at 13/10

I can have Lawrence winning and upsetting the 6-fold, myself

any other views?

How often does an actress win Oscars in successive years? I know last year's was Best Actress, but still seems the biggest concern to me.

I considered this a possible surprise category. Voters could decide to ignore Lawrence (she's got an Oscar) & the young debut, Lupita. Nebraska has a lot of love, but little chances. June Sqibb could get votes. I took a little at 70/1 on betty earlier in the week.

marginally bad, as it freshens up the pitch for the seamers. Not much effect if play does not resume until tomorrow. Duminy the gentle  home spinner had taken 4 of the 7 wickets before the rain, so we are on the right lines

Quite sure the Lyren Legend debacle is owner based.

Clear to the world he travelled well to Ryanair distance and trainer agrees initially admitting several attempts at three miles proves he doesn't quite hack it at top level, then two weeks later changes his mind...ahem.

Many Clouds...staggered he is still at 16s. My outsider of the meeting. If he runs he has to be sub tens on the day.

Plinth. Will stick with my initial impressions. Just hope JP and Aiden still send him over.

Nadiya. Happy with the bet I recommended as NRNB p

Ok. Off to bed

Muireann Hi, my name is Muireann. How may I help you?

You Hi, in The Sun today, it says 'It's Oscar Time, Money back if he walks, we will refund all losing bets on the oscar pistorius trial if he is found not guilty'

You Where is this on the site?

Muireann That may be a shop but I will check the site now

You Online customers only it states.

Muireann One moment there

Muireann Apologies, I am still looking

Muireann Are you looking for the market or more information on the special

You The market

Muireann My apologies, I will send you the link now

Muireann  http://www.paddypower.com/bet/current-affairs/oscar-pistorius?ev_oc_grp_ids=1297770

You Ok, so if he is found not guilty, I get money back as it states in the advert in the sun?

Muireann That is correct, it is just not on site

You So, I bet guilty, if he is found not guilty, I get money back?

Muireann That's correct

That is weird!

A two way market, Money Back on one if wrong?

I have to say that I find this all a bit tasteless - he killed a young woman.

Also hopefully he can be found guilty of another charge (manslaughter etc?), so it might not be two way.

Agreed, this seems very tasteless by them, particulary the way it is marketed. However it does seem to be quite straight forward as a guilty or not guilty charge for "pre meditated murder" and I cannot see any other market. In there own blog, before the promotion 60% of bets were for not guilty.

Guilty is 7/4 and money back if found not guilty (which is 2/5) Is this not a max bet for those that can?

Laddies are going 14/1 Manyriverstocross in the opening day's novices' hcp.'chase.

Beats betty although there's not that much liquidity.

Worth a cockle EW?

Tikay has the max on already, think it was £12 or so.

Really looking forward to the Madrid derby starting at 4pm our time.

As ever there is a bit of value in the to be shown a card market after some digging.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/spain/la-liga-primera/atletico-madrid-v-real-madrid/to-be-shown-a-card

The standout for me is Mata Mario Suarez for Atheltico Madrid at 7/2 with victor.

7 bookings in 14 appearances this season including 2 in his last 2 games since returning from a longish injury (possibly still a bit rusty).

The referee is more than card happy and generally hits at least 6/7 yellows a game (Ladbrokes are 33/20 a red which is fair as well).

The other one that makes some appeal is Kasmirski Filipe Luis at 17/10 with 888 not for thread then but should be around evens considering he gets a yellow from left back nearly 1 in 2 league games and has been booked by todays official 3 of his last 4 games.

SUGGEST £30 Mata Mario Suarez 7/2 victor to be shown a card.

Good luck us then Smiley

I chucked a few quid on when Gary Nutting put it in his Cheltenham antepost bit on ATR.
