Shotgun Paddy
12/1
National Hunt Chase
Ladbrokes

Thanks.

That is generally 7/1 with the Books, but 11/1 with Betty, so a bit of value.

The place is just over 2/1 with Betty, & 3/1 (qtr odds, 1,2,3) with Ladbrokes.

I'm Restricted to EITHER £2.50 WIN or £2.50 EW, do it made sense to go EW.

Shotgun Paddy
National Hunt Chase

Singles - Non Runner No Bet - Each Way

2 lines @ £2.50 per line
.
Total Stake £5.00

Potential Return £42.50

Receipt No: O/142640973/0000541

That's me done until late afternoon, around 5pm, then offline from 6pm all evening.

Lord Grumps is the Guest on Ch 861 this evening (8pm - 10pm) discussing the Cheltenham Festival, along with Boycey, Michael Shinners, David Ord, & Bill Maynard.

Plenty of footage from Stable Tours & interviews with Trainers, I gather.

It was mentioned the other day by someone that they were concerned that TFT had reach a point that was quite difficult because of the restrictions on your accounts. I think we should see if we can fight to keep the thread going. I only mention this myself because it seems that the firms that have most of the offers on are the ones you are restricted with, hopefully the other firms will get in on the act soon and start doing specials that you can jump all over. In the mean time next week is a very important week - make or break in terms of volume of bets and amounts (maybe not so much break but you get my point- it's a big week)

Could a be so bold as to suggest a couple of ideas in preparation for next week and possibly to help on going.

1) Do a bit of Housekeeping on your accounts, Maybe contact the restricted accounts and see if something can be done about it, after all they are bookies and next week is quite a big week for them. Very Liquid markets that they may be happy to lift the restrictions on your accounts for or at least release the noose a little bit.

2) Ensure you have an account with everybody that is on oddschecker. Ie 888, Winner, Spreadex (they do fixed odds) etc This obviously increases the opportunities are getting near to best price. As well as maybe giving you some juicy Free bets to play with.

3) Have accounts that are not on Oddschecker, Pinnicle and Jennings spring to mind. That way If your struggling to get a bet on it gives you even more options to check to get near to best price.

4) Definitely for next week a lot of people are going to be around, If a bet gets put up that is with an account we all know is restricted maybe someone can offer to put it on for you. They then become the bookie on the spready. ( You could probably insert a line that says Paid and that way you know if you owe them money and vice versa). If it works next week it could work ongoing.

5) Would it be an idea of having a list of the bookies ( maybe on the first page or on the spready) and what the account status it. Closed, restricted, Open etc etc just so everybody knows.

I know that the above comes with a bit of work attached but they are only suggestions which may or may not be needed, Just putting a few ideas out there that hopefully can add to the longevity of the thread and also profitability. Not intented to derail the thread or create a lengthy debate just before a busy time of the year. Even if you take a morsal of good advice from it, it will have been worth the 10mins it took to write.

Be quick and get £50 on betfred on hurricane fly at 4/1
https://betfred.mobi/sports/horses/event/3080436.2

Totesport pls

They don't seem to be offering it. 11/4 @ present.

Maybe they sussed that yesterday peeps were doing both Sites.

You are restricted at BetDead but not at the Nanny.  So you go to the Nanny first when time restricted.  The offer ended at 12.30.

A couple of improvements people could make would be to put Paddy Power and Laddies offers on the Cheltenham thread.

It would be good to flag Betfred bets as totesport ones just in case Tikay goes to the wrong place.

Redarmi mentioned this yesterday, but if people carry on using badly damaged accounts to put 50p on, it isn't a good thing.  Paddies get to find out that lots of people want to back outcome X just for a liability of a pound to Paddies.  I never use my Ladbrokes account for this reason, they really do seem to cut prices even though they have barely laid a pound sometimes.

I am not sure if it is wise to put up click links to bookie sites either.  If Ladbrokes get 30 people clicking a link here and all betting £50, it wouldn't be too hard for them to put 2 and 2 together.

I'd also caution against anyone volunteering to bets at Paddies on for Tikay on this thread.  Arrangements off site are best kept that way.

Thanks, the Links really help.

The Restrictions, sadly, don't. We were allowed £1.06. I let them off the 6p.

Still, it's better than the 10p we were allowed on Dodging bullets!

06/03/2014 Single To Win Big Shu to win the Cross Country Chase @ 5/1
 Cheltenham Countdown Specials
Big Shu to win the Cross Country Chase  Pending £1.00

BET PLACED

can we put something in place like a bet has to be £5+ or don't bother?

Next week is going to be really hectic, lots of bets to account for and the utility of the bet is less than the effort to record it, report it etc (bets of £1.24, £1, £1, £2.50, £2.40 all placed in the last three weeks)

I am sure there are plenty of people who would make it up to a reasonable amount to top the thread up if we request it, as people like marky147 often do, kindly

PM can be sent to me and the spreadsheet can reflect

We may also wish to make the thread hidden/password only/subscription only for big weeks such as Cheltenham, or permanently going forward?

With all the offers from Patrick/Lads, I generally check how much I'm allowed, and then leave it if it's a bowl amount.

You have never tried to have a discussion with a trader at one of these firms have you?  95% of the time they will just refuse to talk to you and give you a blanket "it is a trading decision" line.  I am fairly persistent though so I will recount a couple of the conversations I have had when I have got through.

(after getting offered 50 quid at 6/1 a horse when I asked for 300)
Me: Hi, I asked for 300 on red rum at 6/1 and you only offered me 50 but you didn't cut the price and now it is 13/2 so I assume you want to lay it so can I have the other 250 I wanted now at 13/2.
Trader: No
Me: Okay well how much can I have at 13/2?
Trader: Nothing
Me:How about laying me the 6/1 for a bit then?
Trader: No sorry.

(asking why an account had been restricted)
Me: Hi there this is account xyz45455.  I notice my account has been restricted and wondered if there was a reason for this given I have only had 5 bets and they all lost?
Trader: We think you are an arber and we don't welcome that kind of business sir as we are strictly a recreational firm.
Me:  Oh okay....I was looking to have a monkey on Arsenal tonight at Evens and that isn't an arb....would you be interested in that?
Trader: No
Me: So there are no circumstances you would lay me a bet?  Not even on something like the Grand National or at the Festival.
Trader: No - it is a trading decision sir and we won't enter into discussion about it

And finally my favourite from years ago when I worked for VC and we occasionally had to put money on for Michael Tabor

Me:  Hi, what price are Nottingham Forest tonight?
Trader: 4/11 sir.
Me: erm.....can I have 1.1 million to win 400k please?
Trader:  Are you joking?
Me:  No they want 1.1m
Trader: hang on.....(puts me on hold for quite a long time).......Hello sir, we can take 110.
Me:  110 thousand?
Trader:  No sir pounds
Me: Oh....erm.....okay.  I don't think he is going to like that.  Shall we just say nothing done?
Trader: probably for the best.

The last one had an interesting postscript on the Saturday after when John Brown who was Hills boss at the time phoned to try and back one of his horses he was going for a touch on with us but it is largely unrepeatable......

Hi Sonour, I downloaded the PP messenger app, but I only get a front screen of log in or register (or view t's and c's) and all 3 just take me to a white blank screen. Is it broken or is there a trick to getting past this bit?!

I've got a bet where FredBet are best price but several firms haven't priced it up yet. Is it worth me putting the bet on here now or should I leave it until all the other firms have put their prices up? I know Fred can't get on and I've taken the Max I can. I don't think anyone will better this price but they may. Let me know?

Some great story's Red, but I suppose you would rather not have them to tell in the first place.  I suppose they can do what they want really. I only mentioned it as Pp raised a restriction from £5 to £36 the other day after I spoke to them although I haven't had a bet since so the account itself is still probably restricted.

Fred can get on, you just need to flag it as stoatsport.  Tikay goes to stoatsport, bet is laid in full.  Given he never puts much on and the account seems to be clean it is unlikely the Stoats will amend the price.  More get on.  Everybody happy.

Fred goes to Fredbet, Tikay gets restricted, Fredbet get a flag that a marked account is trying to get on, Tikay loses, price gets cut earlier.
