Cheltenham Portfolio

Below, I think, is our current Cheltenham position.

If I get some time, I'll try & sort it into specific days, & date/time order. Should be easy enough.

I asked Mere to do this, but the sorting of the Spready was a bit beyond him.

11-Mar   horses   Champion Hurdle, Cheltenham   Annie Power   12/1   25
12-Mar   Horses   Cheltenham - RSA Chase   Many Clouds   20/1   25
13-Mar   Horses   Champion Chase   Sprinter Sacre   10/11   50
Mar-2014   Horses   Ryanair, Cheltenham   Al Ferof   7/1   25
Mar-2014   Horses   Triumph Hurdle   Plinth   12/1   50
Mar-2014   Horses   Cheltenham Gold Cup   Lyreen Legend   50/1   16
Mar-2014   Horses   Cheltenham Gold Cup   Lyreen Legend   50/1   40
Mar-2014   Horses   Cheltenham Gold Cup   Last Instalment   14/1   20
Mar-2014   Horses   Ryanair chase   Lyreen Legend   33/1   10
Mar-2014   Horses   Ryanair chase   Lyreen Legend   33/1   6.06
Mar-2014   Horses   Cheltenham Going   Good   12/1   25
Mar-2014   Horses   Ryanair Chase   Lyreen Legend   33/1   14.2
Mar-2014   Horses   Royal Sun Alliance Chase   .Ballycasey   7/1   2.5
Mar-2014   Horses   Ryanair Chase   Lyreen Legend   33/1   25
Mar-2014   Horses   Supreme Novices Hurdle   Irving   9/4   18
1-Mar   Horses   Cross Country Chase   Big Shu   6/1   2.5
Mar-2014   Horses    Byrne Group Plate    Nadiya de la Vega   25/1   30
11-Mar   Horses   Supreme Novices' Hurdle - Official Going On The 'Off'    Good to Soft   8/13   65
12-Mar   Horses   Mares Hurdle   Quevega   Ev   25
12-Mar   Horses   Mares Hurdle   Quevega   Ev   50
12-Mar   Horses   Champion Hurdle    Hurricane Fly   4/1   12.5
12-Mar   Horses   Cross Country Chase   BigShu   5/1   1
12-Mar   Horses   National Hunt Chase   Shotgun Paddy   12/1   5
12-Mar   Horses   Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase   BigShu   4/1   50

I need to do so more tweaking to see which ones are Win, or EW, who Recommended the Bet, etc. Bear with me please, this is uber-complex stuff.

Looks like some £500+ invested so far.

If we get "Good" going for the first on Tuesday, we will have half our money back already......

Sopme of those bets are dead already I believe. If someone wants to let us know which ones, Tighty can remove them from the Spready.

Must be said, how on earth, during all those floods & rain, did Chompy come up with that "Goiong, Good" bet?

Win or lose, incredible foresight.

Well done to Hector on Castleford, 36-31 winners at 11/5.

Covers Wales, who it has to be said were deservedly beaten by England.

France now virtually certain not to win the 6n either. Even if they beat Ireland they would need a major shock in Rome to win it on points diff

BOOM!

Well done hector, sitting down there in the West Country perusing Rugby League Forums paid off. A genuine "value" spot.

In that Cheltenham going bet, what happens if the going is different on the hurdles course to that on the 'chase course?

It's not unusual for the going to be soft on one and good to soft on the other.

I believe it's the first race, so that would be the hurdle course.

Without wishing to sound Chompyish, are we not taking the Good to Soft for some money back? Do we really think the Clerk will call it Good?

Winner of the utility group was a poodle:

We have opposed this with our pastoral chappie:

There was me thinking he bore a resemblance to the accident prone character in The Brittas Empire...
