Countdown = £348.34

£350 on Man U to beat Bayern?  Thet are playing on April 1st which is just perfect.

Was a little tongue in cheek, but no love for this?

It has become fashionable to praise the Germans for having a well run league, with great teams, but I am not at all convinced the records of the respective Countries back this up.  Knocking Man U has also become even more popular than knocking Spurs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_Cup_and_UEFA_Champions_League_finals

Sure Bayern are the better side, and there record this season is fantastic, and Man U have been very inconsistent this year, and looked awful at times.  So Bayern definitely deserve to be favourites away in a Country whose clubs have a better record on the big stage, but 5/1+ Man U just seems to be something we should be taking advantage of?

You should be able to get 6.4 at home on Man U on Betfair (I just did), maybe we can limit our bet to just £50?

Helmet on, hiding behind big wall, thoughts please?

Incredible, that's the highlight of the world cup right there.  Forget the poor Irish bowling, that was fantastic from the Netherlands.

Hate to think what the odds on that was 90 minutes ago - anyone know?

At the end of the Ireland innings Netherlands were 16/1 Wink

I've backed United, not having them 5/1 at home, esp in a game where a small defeat wouldn't be a disaster for the away side

I am not sure on this one.  The current prices would make Munich a 2/9 shot at home to Manure.  Is anyone really a 2/9 shot at home to manchester utd who have nothing else to play for?  I really don't know but i would struggle to back Bayern at these prices tbh.

When will rubbish do his next photo gallery?

The next time i put up 3 winners at 9/2 and don't have a trixie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a bit busy with work this week, I've taken on someone under me (insert witty line here Tal), so I just haven't had any free time. Until now that is.

By my reckoning (with the help of two sites) a £5 trixie for three 9/2 shots pays £1285.62? Here's what you could have won.

10 tickets for the Darts in Cardiff, Capital of Gods Country.

For an extra hundred odd quid maybe Monaco.

Why not become an owner and with the money saved you can afford to watch your beast in action.

Or for the Cricket enthusiast 6365 AED is a touch over a grand.

Maybe stop being so selfish and take us all to see the Wigan Warriors? You can even choose the MOTM and I'm sure there's sites that will take a bet on that?

Alternatively buy a big fook off TV and watch them all on the box in the comfort of your front room.

Love it cheers rubbish.  Glad you didn't do it for my preferred trixie unit stake might have tilted me somewhat more missing out.

That would have been enough to bail me out from Cheltenham...... almost

the sixes bet floundered on two factors

- Pakistan's insipid batting performance, with two sixes only
- India could then pootle along with no real pressure

these sixes bets require a competitive first innings so that the chasing team has to open their shoulders and go for it

Although there wasn't much in the pitch to prevent big hitting, the ball definitely gripped for the spinners (the Indian spinners bowled 30 dot balls and took 3 wickets including one beauty from mishra) , and this bodes reasonably for our Badree bet (Now into 25-1) as the WI play all their group games in Mirpur.

The other ground, Chittagong, is quicker, more dew, tougher for spinners and this is the Eng/SA/Sri Lanka group

Obviously not great news for the Pakistan outright bet either.

Actually what I said isn't even as stupid as it sounds.

For £2750, which is quite expensive because most Match day Sponsorship's are for ten people, you pick the Man of the Match. Tonight's Leeds match has only four people under 10/1 so a £200 punt on a 16/1 shot more than covers it and you get a free day on the piss.

Or is it not the official MOTM which then makes it as stupid as it sounded?

Sounds like a great coup to me.  Surely it can't be that easy.

Pakistan's batting (as in the last warm up game) was shit.  I tried to think of a more descriptive word but that pretty much sums it up.

The only positive for the bet is that the bowlers look very hard to score against and so if they do manage to put some runs on the board they will be a tough team to beat.  Defeat against Australia will kill the bet unfortunately

Yet again India's pace bowlers look weak and whilst the batting is strong, it's not as good as previous world cups.   Can't help but think WI shouldn't be (significant) underdogs for Sunday's game - they are 13/10 at the moment, what do you think Tighty?

I like the wi to win it, and think australia are a lay. Any time I can get 5/4+ on a decent team in a short format against a similar one, I'm there.
