Tighty,

What did you think of Wednesday on Friday night?

I saw most of second half and thought we played quite well.

This is not a recommendation, you think 16/5 Wednesday to beat Forest looks a bit of value?

Forest a bit vulnerable at home?

Wednesday played quite an attacking line up at Leicester.

Whilst Wednesday lost our 2 central defenders in the game, I think Buxton is very comfortable there.

played reasonably well

with a bit more self-belief a point was there for the taking

antonio was a big threat, dangerous player

desperately need a striker, the Austrian lump up there didn't impress me much

in general a workmanlike side who as we can see from the table hold their own in the division

would need major investment in pace (up top) and creativity (in midfield) to compete at the top

haven't seen Forest for a while, obviously the form has been very poor either side of the managerial change (DLLLDDLLDL last ten games). in general I am well disposed to reasonable underdogs at short-ish favourites...anyone is capable of beating anyone. unless you are Barnsley.

i would think 3-1+ wednesday is a big price

From about 4pm this afternoon, no bet placing service available until the morning

I am at Leicester City v Brighton and Hove Abion.

tikay is listening to Mr Channing

"8pm - 9pm, it's the Masters Golf Betting Preview.

As well as Lord Channing & Boycey, Ben Coley (SportingLife.com) & Sam Harrop (oddschecker.com) will be dispensing pearls of golf whatsit."

channel 861

Mr Channing has let it be known to the twitterati this morning that he is not a fan of Jordan Speith

tonight, as well as hoping we get one of the three wins we need to win the championship, and land the thread bet, I will be watching mr Ulloa, who we also have a bet on

with 6 games left, the Brighton top goalscorers are

Ulloa 10
lingard 6
crofts 5
barnes 5 (now at burnley)
buckley 3
lopez 3

we have a tenner at 5-1, which looks very well placed

brighton have scored 42 goals in 40 games

perhaps a goalscorer or two on the summer shopping list

Cant say I'm as keen as I was when we placed the bet, but thems the rubs. Hopefully all his practice will pay off, but to be totally honest he hasn't progressed as well, or quickly as he looked liked doing at the end of last year. Too early to write him off as a journeyman yet, as he is young, but you need to be brave and put a line through a few 50-1 shots if you are to find the winner. Wink

4 top 10s since the turn of the year, bit early to be writing him off.  Next you'll be telling me Wenger is shit, just cos he hasn't won a trophy in only 8 years.

To be fair, I was hoping for better this year to.

Just treating it like any other tournament.  Can't see what can go wrong

Channing may have got me most of my Cheltenham losses back, but he can't dent my enthusiasm here

It's not much fun having one bet in an event and it to be a 1/50 shot. He can obviously win and he might go and be a great player. I just think when he's been in contention he's generally been overbet in running and he's seemed a bit temperamental and slightly impatient. Would certainly not be my main sport but I do watch a fair bit of golf and it's just something that has stuck in my mind.

Not sure if it's still there as it wasn't clear that it was there at all but somebody told me Paddy were 14/1 Scott in the shops even though it says 12/1 on oddschecker. Don't think I have a penny on yet but at 123456 it looks a pretty solid bet.

Just caught up on 50 pages of Fred having been otherwise engaged (I play a bit of poker in my spare time, u gambling guys should try it, you'd enjoy it). What I've learnt in those 50 pages, from two of my favourite posters:

- Being fondled by Edward Scissorhands isn't much fun
- Betting one of the other horses when the favourite is a bit of a 'woofer' is no bad thing

As u were...

 Incoming amusing Betfred story...

Betfred have been forced to withdraw their main Masters (golf) promotion after discovering that it was mathematically unsound.

 They were offering:

Bonus King Betfred have a US Masters offer of their own. Just place a bet pre-tournament on the outright winner and if your player makes a hole in one at any time during the tournament Betfred will pay you out as if your player won the Masters!

It is about 85/1 for any player to score a hole in one so betting any player bigger than 500/1 to fluke a hole in one was huge value.

They have quietly withdrawn the offer this morning but haven't told any of their affiliates etc so customers may well still place the bet without knowing it has been withdrawn.

typical bald.  Clueless 'loltraders'/marketing people of the highest order.  So typical they don't honour their feck up as well just grim punters quietly.

That is really bad.  Basically all of these offers are "mathematically unsound" that is kinda the point of them, they give away money the question is just to what extent.

My friend went on to enquire about it. He was firs told the offer ran until the 10th, then that it wasn't available...

[xxx] OK, so you have withdrawn your main Masters promotion two days before it starts?

[xxx] well done marketing department!

[James W] yes it is no longer available

[xxx] ok thanks for clarifying

[James W] we have it our limits for that promotion

[xxx] as a matter of interest, how could you hit your limits on that promotion?

[xxx] given that is applies to all the golfers in the Masters?

[xxx] did you decide that you would lay £1000 of bets on the Masters and then withdraw the offer?

[xxx] your explanation doesn't really make sense

[xxx] How much was your limit? £50? £100?

[James W] we would have had a max payout. once we had meet that risk we will remove the promotion

[xxx] I don't see how that works on the Masters

[xxx] what was the max payout?

[James W] I can not say I don't have that information

[xxx] ok, thanks for your help

Bald just admit you are clueless like all your traders and head of trading and say you fecked up.  Digging a hole this deep is just embarrassing.  Everyone in the game knows you are the most clueless firm going you don't have to pretend otherwise.  The interview i had with the head of trading at bald in early 2004 with his two right hand men was comical.  Their PR man sounds like he is an ex betting shop manager.  They even grimmed me on my travelling expenses even though they were agreed pre interview attendance.  Horrid firm of the highest order.

This is no different to Rob offering a £150k gtd for the deepstack.  It making £110k and Rob saying the gtd is cancelled sorry lads.  In some ways it's even worse because they had all the information available to them and just totally fecked up their calculations yet expect the punters to take the hit.  1.01 that no member of staff responsible will be held to account for it.  Blind leading the blind at bald's.

Only reason i attended the interview was to effectively get paid the petrol money to travel from the south coast when i was with Canbet to a bet365 jolly at stoke via Warrington.  Must be the only firm in the world who before interviewing you ask you what your current salary is then invite you to an interview which pays less than half of what you are currently earning and expect you to seriously take a 55% pay cut to move to Warrington to go and work for bald!
