It's interesting this discussion. What if a buyer of a football club literally did buy a club in order to close it down and asset strip it and use the ground for it's land value etc etc. What do you think would happen?
You mean come in, sell all the best players, sell the historic ground and turn it into flats and leave the team without silverware for years and the fans moaning about how the owners never show ambition?
Never happen.
Too good!

I'm not biting, but there again I don't have to do I with our lovely new stadium.
God forbid our board show the same approach to "ambition" as Mr.Levy.

Those that don't like Tikay's business heroes will be pleased to know that selling the shares of anyone he writes a love letter about is a profitable strategy.
On the subject of people buying sporting businesses to liquidise, that's pretty much what some racecourse owners are suspected of doing. People are a bit grumpy about that too.

Afteroon Mr T.
Most of my bets are thought out carefully but this one comes into the fun category. Tonight Benfica play Sevilla in the final of the Europa league cup thing. What makes Sevilla a bet tonight is the " curse " that was put on Benfica over 50 years ago. The full story is here.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27356047
They have now lost 7 European cup finals since the curse was instigated, and I have been the recipient of much wealth on the back of it.
Suggest £20 on Sevilla to lift the trophy @ 13/10 with Betfair, make sure you don't click win in 90 mins by mistake.
In the tennis, Giraldo got injured and retired after 1 set so that was a loser. Ferrer eased through yesterday, and in better news Federer got knocked out today. Tomorrow could be Murray time again.
I may have to put my own curse on Djokovic's dodgy wrist to make it easier for Ferrer to get to the final.
Evening hector. Bear with me, I have just awoken from my afternoon constitutional.
That's a pretty odd piece of reasoning, but in hector we trust.
Incidentally, did you see the wonderful Federer news? Now a proud dad to boy twins, Leo and Lenny, and he and his wife already gave twin girls, Myla and Charlene. One rather jaunty red top headline was "Federer, two sets to love".
We have £20 on Sevilla outright, @ 2.38, with Betfair Exchange.
BET PLACED
Winner!
The tap is dripping nicely.
Thanks hector.

Will come visit your diary soon I promise.
Brooklyn are playing great tonight, it's all too late tho, they're not gonna beat Miami in the series. Can't help but feel we were on the verge of a good bet, Brooklyn won all four games between the teams in the regular season (how ridic is that?) and at times they look like a team of grown ups against one man and a load of kids making up the numbers (bad analagy today as Wade is playing well and LBJ not doing much).
Nets have so many weapons, two hall of famers, two all star guards, two or three really good bench players 0 AK47, Andrei Kirilenko is perfect for any team off the bench, can do it all - and their arguably best player is injured and out for the season.
Me and argueboy both think Miami at 11/10 just have to be a lay, they're far too short, they really aren't that good, just tricky finding a definite opponent to bet. As Mark says tho, the fact they'll not have home court advantage after this series in the conference final and the Finals is pretty huge, price is just wrong (even tho they'll probs win)

Ahh, poor David Moyes, the butt of everyone's jokes. I hope he eventually gets to be Manager of one of the "makeweight" PL teams & gets them to be a Top 4 Team, so he can stick it to the ridiculous haters.
Another good gallery, Rubbish, as was yesterday's, which due to time issues, I omitted to thank you for.

Absolutely staggering.
The Top Teams are getting just shy of £100 million, "not quite a big team" Spurs got nearly £90 million, & the makeweights such as Stoke, Newcastle, Sunderland are getting well over £70 million.
Incredible.

Hope Moyes goes to Germany as he almost did a few years back.
Could come back a new man ala Mclaren, unfortunately after the superb job Mclaren has done at Derby he is still getting the umbrella questions most weeks.
Quite pathetic really.
Two of the most sought after managers in Europe Klopp and Simeone both got sides relegated within their first two seasons. Doesnt make them bad managers....
