Tighty,

Up to you, but it seems to me we should be lumping on NZ in the Rugby.

What's the worst that can happen? We find a value bet & it loses? Not be the first time.

It's just a case of "how big?" imo.

And don't be tiddlearsing. I'm not interested in the bet if we are punting less than a tenner. This looks a £15-er at least to me.

ok on

 New Zealand v England New Zealand -19 (3-Way Handicap - 80 Mins)

Odds: 10/11

Stake: 1100.00

Possible Return:  2100.00

FFS, don't do things like that, I nearly died.

EQUADOR AT WORLD CUP 2014

Just been having a rummage through various teams qualifying campaigns, and it struck me that Equador's home record was excellent (W7 D1) partially due to Quito being at high altitude of 2800 meters above sea level.

Their away record was pretty dismal - L5 so the home advantage played a huge part in their campaign, and made the team in my opinion look stronger than they are.

High altitude apparently is a factor at above 2000 meters, so I thought I'd have a look at where they are playing in the finals.

They are playing Switzerland at 1200 meters, Honduras at 900 meters and France at zero, so it seems reasonable to assume that it will be their ropey away record we should use as a guideline rather than their Quito form.

I am wondering whether the prices for the France/Switzerland games are based on Equador being "at home" in South America, as opposed to looking at sea level.

In light of my musings, I would like to make a few recommends for discussion:

£40 on Switzerland to beat Equador at 6/4
£80 on France to beat Equador at 10/11

Alternatively, £120 on Equador not to qualify at 4/5 depending on where we can get on.

Love that bet Dung.

One of our guys who is strong as an ox, never been ill, came back from working at a similar altitude in Peru for two weeks, and he looks the shell of the bloke he was.

Makes perfect sense having seen him.

No doubt Ecuador are better at home than away but they would not be alone in that in South America.

They were not disgraced away in qualifying (were very good away to Uruguay in a 1-1 draw)

They also recently drew 1-1 with the Dutch (on dutch soil). They have since lost 3-1 to Mexico but played the subs mainly.

They have been the vast improvers and i hope Montero plays against England as Jones or Johnson will have a hell of a game!

arsehole point: Ecuador. (sorry, but it tilted me)

in my amateur preview i wrote

South American challengers Ecuador have talented attacking players but struggle to defend away from their Quito home games  at altitude. In qualifying they only dropped two points at home, against Argentina, but failed to win a single away qualifier, taking just three points from those eight games. None of the Brazil games are at altitude and in qyualification they conceded two goals a game on average away from home.

None of this points to qualification out of the group here and they are 9/2 to win the group and odds against in places to qualify.

and put up

Qualification straight forecast France, Switzerland 5/2 William Hill

Qualification straight forecast Switzerland, France 9/2 William Hill

Highest scoring Group game Ecuador v Honduras 11/4 888Sport

yes

Kyle Eastmond came from League, showed a lot of promise but is inexperienced and diminuitive by the standards of Union centres. Major challenge at Eden Park to stand up physically to what will come at him

Falcao has been ruled out of the World Cup

A while ago, dubai put us on Jackson Martinez of Porto top scorer in the WC at 100-1 but hasn't been around to explain why

I assume Falcao's absence must help, and must have been part of the rationale

its not the toughest group, to have any pretensions of going a way in it they should get through Japan, Greece and Ivory Coast

Anyway, Martinez has obviously shortened here (i liked Rodriguez of Monaco at a price that has long gone, free kicks, long range shots, good little player)

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/world-cup/colombia/top-goalscorer

and for anyone who follows dubai (seems a sensible enough strategy) Martinez is still 80-1 at Coral, if you like Colombia to play 5+ games

thank you, i think people like the e/w shape of the race, awaiting offers like these....

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/flat/the-derby/winner

this morning's puff was

"Kingston Hill has been backed into 8/1 from 9/1 with Betfred for the Investec Derby this weekend at Epsom.

The market move oddly coincided with his name appearing in chalk on the famous wishing well at the Amato Inn in Epsom.

Geoffrey Chaucer, on the other hand, is on the slide and has been eased to 8/1 (rom 7/1.

Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths said: "Each-way backers have been out in force for Kingston Hill.

"Maybe it's just coincidence, but since his name appeared on the well, he's been the best backed horse in the race."

Kingston Hill has also been cut to 9/2 from 11/2 in Betfred's without Australia market and shares favouritism with Geoffrey Chaucer"
