How do these southampton backers know? It does make you wonder sometimes about the epl the sheer size of some of these gambles to quite redic prices. Nolan played as well. They go 1-0 down and still win on the bridle.

Your mob turning over the Oil boys is a touch, and an unexpected 3 points in the bag!

We have our own form of oil in stoke it's called bet365!!!!  Very nice result for the firm I would imagine as well should just cover the win bonuses.

"Five-four is a hockey score, not a football score.

"In a three-against-three training match, if the score reaches 5-4 I send the players back to the dressing rooms as they are not defending properly.

"So to get a result like that in a game of 11 against 11 is disgraceful."

(Edit: how was that TEN years ago?!!)

Just a bit, 6 of the 10 most fancied teams failed to win, & most of the accas fell at the first when Man U drew @ Burnley. The horses went the other way though, with so many jollies winning.

We swerved that one a treat, (or I hope we did) phew. It looked a huge price to me, but at this time of year, you know how it is.

I noticed that Alex Song signed for West Ham on a loan deal.

I had a little google, as I remember him well from his Arsenal days. Never realised his real name is Alexandre Dimitri Song Billong, or more correctly, Mr Billong. Song Billong would scan nicely, I can't help but feel.

Perhaps of more interest (to whom?), he has 17 brothers & 10 sisters. Meal-time in the Billong home must have been on a rota system.

finally, Jack Charlton here in action in 1996. Where and why?

Surely 1966? Opening first ever driving range in Britain?

correct, at the Shay in Halifax

to diversify income, the board of directors had the idea that people could hit golf balls from the back of the terrace, onto the pitch

"the Shay was built on a rubbish dump and was a popular speedway venue in the 1970s. In the icy winter of 1962-63, the pitch was turned into a public skating rink. A golf driving range was also set up at the back of one of the stands and opened by Jack Charlton in December 1966. With 200 balls a week being lost, the club shut it down 12 months later."

Wish Jack had got his left heel slightly raised with that past parallel back swing

Daily Report

Loss on Month £763.95

Outstanding bets £4281.60

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=28

No bets completed yesterday, probably because neither of us were around to place West Ham.

The usual busy saturday

In the US Open Raonic made the fourth round beating Estrella Burgos in three straight tie-breaks. He now plays Nishikori in the last 16

Football

taking these division by division

Premier League

top ten bet Stoke in an old fashioned coupon buster winning at Man C one nil

there is also a bet on stoke v villa c wba finishing position, a good couple of results for that one too

we have 3/1 wba to go down....and that looks a live one with the 3-0 defeat at Swansea

top ten bet Newcastle still to win, but a plucky point for the Tyneside minnows at home to Crystal Palace

top everything bet Crystal Palace started the reign of Colin, mark 2, with a spirited performance to get that point

Relegation bet Southampton looked far from that form, impressive in winning at West Ham

We have West Ham to finish top ten too

No sign of any form from Man U, or Rooney goals. With Diego Costa in such blistering form, we may be playing for the each-way places anyway on that goal-scorer bet

Not bad for a player ruled out injured for 4-6 weeks the day before

Costa 9/4, Aguero 5/1, Sturridge 6/1, RVP 10/1 in that market currently

Chelsea 4/5 for the title after 3 games....

Championship

Watford beat Huddersfield 4-2 to go 2nd in the league. we have 8/1 on promotion

Vetokele scored twice for Charlton. Now has 5 in 4 games and we have 150-1 e/w championship golden boot

No sign of double-bet Hooper in the Norwich squad, fear he is being transferred out of the division tomorrow

League One

Peterborough won at Colchester to go top of the league. 12/1 for the title e/w in the books

Conor Washington a goalscorer bet off the mark for the season

Jonson Clarke Harris a goalscorer bet off the mark for the season for Oldham too

relegation bet and versus Peterborough match bet Doncaster lost at home

League Two

Newport won at Portsmouth to begin their climb up the table

Ricky Miller was an unused sub for Luton at Srewsbury but at least was in the matchday squad for the first time this season

Conference

Dover lost at home to Kidderminster, and remain just above the relegation places

Scotland

Hearts won comfortably at home and remain top of the Championship three points ahead of Rangers

Baseball

the Orioles beat the Twins 3-2 and with the Yankees losing that means the Orioles are now 8 games clear in the AL East. Would be doing very well to lose this bet from here

In the Central the Tigers split a double header with the White Sox but the Royals dropped their third in a row, losing in extra innings to the Indians. Both the Royals and Tigers now tied with identical 74-61 records at the top of the AL Central. Tense. The Royals, strong on pitching and defense, need to hit better to win this one for us

The FIBA Basketball world cup began in Spain. Bookmarks website. Lithuania beat Mexico 84-77, the USA scraped past Finland 114-55 and Croatia (i need to check if this was matched) beat the Phillipines 81-78 in one of the closest games on the first day

Finally, According to survation poll of Clacton voters reported on front page of Mail on Sunday UKIP has a 44% lead. 1/4 didn't look so bad, then...
