Re hills weather bet

Will be settled this afternoon

Did yours get settled yesterday please?

None of my online ones have been settled. I went into a shop yesterday and they said those weren't settled either.

He rang them up and asked for a price on November and December Smiley

They then agreed to settle him so maybe worth a try

I would love to know how much they have knocked out on this 'novelty' market.

I never understand how bookmakers can settle individual customer bets like this. Surely they should just settle the market and then all bets on that option are settled.

I had a situation once where we bet unders on a QB rushing yards. The make up was zero. In one shop they settled as a loser (as he had no rushing yards listed) but another 'customer' had the bet settled as a winner.

I don't see how a bet can have two options for settlement.

It's very scummy by Hills given they didn't quote November/December as betting options and didn't state others on request in the betting.  To now be settling customers individual bets on the basis of how much they kick off is very poor PR.  Most settling systems have the ability to settle individual bets however the logical thing to do is it just settle the whole market and everyone's bets in one go.  They obviously have a rather large lump tied up in this at short prices and don't fancy releasing it until a) punters kick off personally about it and will settle on an individual bet by bet basis or b) 1 Jan 2015.

Just spoken to him certainly not a bloke who would ever "kick off".

He simply asked when the bet was settled and then asked for a price on Nov and Dec.

If anyone has an amount locked up they need it's hardly hassle it took him five minutes.

They are funny.

My friend 'Bob' asked them to settle this weather market. They said they couldn't as 2014 isn't over. Bob explained that they only quoted up to October in the market. They said that was because November and December were 'unlikely'.

Bob asked for prices on November and December. They said that they needed to know how much he wanted to bet on November and December first as that could affect the price. Otherwise they couldn't give prices.

Am I awake or is this a dream?

hills lol 'novelty' compiler obviously on his last written warning for awful work and trying to stall as long as possible before the losses hit 'his' figures and the P45 arrives as he needs to be able to afford xmas first! Grin

TBF we have just had the hottest halloween on record recording a scorching 73degrees.  Maybe they think November has a squeak!  Only 20 spots to find. All the best of British.

Bob eventually got quoted 100/1 November and December but max bet is £20

You can't be too careful.

Mainz letting me down on the Bundesliga top 4 bet. :{

Luckily I had a little side bet on Hannover 96 at 66s but I didn't really fancy it enough to put that one on the thread. They are now 50s on bwin and best 8-1 elsewhere but I am not sure I would recommend putting anything on as they are remarkably inconsistent.

It is remarkable how out of line the Bwin prices still are in this market compared to the other bookies

Perhaps they are right after all though?

Crazy how Dortmund are so poor. Every week I can't believe they will not win again, but they deliver!

anyone got any opinions on Caroline Flack 11/2 1/5 each way with Sporting, i know its a point off bf's win market but it seems the winner will come form the front four in the betting, doesn't she fit the Abbey Clancy type from last year, all be it at shorter odds?

I think Frankie should be shorter in the market if anything.

Feel winner will def come out of her and Jake.

Believe that both Pixie and Caroline come across a bit meh, especially the former.

Thing with the Flack is she really is the Z of all Z listers.

Abbey was no superstar herself, but she danced great and grew on the public week by week.

Don't hate the place part massively, just wouldn't be for me, especially the win portion of the bet.

Plenty.

She has struggled with routines through the week but has seemed to perform well on the night. In Pasha, she has a partner who's very good at Latin* (which is her strength) and is a very good choreographer (remember that Joe Voter is largely picking on the performance) for the show.

Her ballroom needs work but, as with a few at the top, she will get time, provided she still gets votes.

Basically been a consistent, solid, rather than spectacular performer and she's joint third overall with Jake on average score.

She's danced (in order)
Cha-cha-cha (her lowest)
Tango
Rumba
Quickstep (her highest - I know that sounds contradictory, but her ballroom is definitely her weaker discipline; she doesn't struggle for speed and fitness)
Paso Doble
Samba

And she'll be waltzing this weekend. That will be a test, as both Sunetra and Pixie have foxtrots and I expect both to be good. She's only had one dance in traditional ballroom hold (tango hold is different) and the judges will be much sharper on footwork hopefully.

Next weekend, everyone goes to Blackpool, so there will be a clamouring for votes this weekend to ensure people's favourites get there.

I'm not convinced about her as yet, but she'll probably coast for a bit yet and then it's pot luck as to who makes improvements.

Hope that helps.

*not my personal taste in style - does a funny thing with his head when going forwards, but he's still very talented.
