BMU have a special for Boxing Day Premier games - 7/1 for there to be more than 34 goals scored.

There are 10 games. There were 29 goals last year and that included a 5-1 win for Newcastle over Stoke, and a 3-2 win for ManUre at Hull.

I can't see where 34 goals will come from so looks very short to me. Any thoughts?

would have been good value in 50 years ago

to your point, would want more than 7/1 this year i think. ice cream offer from bv :-)

That was the last time Wenger got his wish over fixture congestion granted.

They played 2 days later, away to Birmingham City, & knocked in 4. Wink

Earelier in the season, they had a 4-4 affair with 'Spurs, probably the last time 'Spurs scored 4 in a game, perhaps?

This site is a corker. What a thing the internet is.

http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/match/index.html?event=3;season=1963%2F64;team=240

I was at that home match v sp*rs which ended up 4-4.

They were leading 2-4 with ten minutes to go (a couple of goals from Jimmy Greaves iirc) and I couldn't take any more so I left the ground early. I felt like a right wally when I got home to discover that we'd scored twice in the last five minutes to salvage a draw.

I've always stayed until the final whistle since then.

Crikey Ralph, what a memory.

What would you be then, about 30?

I saw Jimmy Greaves many times at Stamford Bridge, in his early days with Chelsea, be late fifties I guess. He scored 120 in 150 games, includiung 41 in 40 games in his last season, but Chelsea were strapped for cash & so he went to Milan for £80,000, & got paid a monstrous £140 a week. The team were called "Drake's Ducklings, after Ted Drake, the Manager.

Just a small one for boxing day.  I don't know anything bookies don't but just don't understand the price.

Oldham have been woeful recently.  Lost 0-7, 0-4 and 0-1 in last 3 games.  Confidence must be very low.

Crewe have been poor most of the season, but are on a high after beating Bristol City last time out.  The have Ikpeazu back on loan from Watford.  "Mini Drogba" was one of the top players in his youth group (28 goals in his final academy season) before Watford somehow managed to pinch him from Reading's academy.   Large and powerful, the 19 year old just hasn't worked out when to pass the ball yet, but the Crewe fans were pleased with his bulldozing efforts against City.

Anyhow, seems to me the 9/2 on Crewe to win at nervous Oldham on Boxing day looks worth a tickle.

Recommend:

£20 Crewe to beat Oldham at 9-2
£5 Ikpeazu to score at any time at 3-1

I was there, horsey. He's been probably our best value signing from the Bale money but that's not saying much!

Can understand why Karabiner went to watch that game. Did we parade the cup round beforehand?

Tighty, is Romo worth a cover for MVP, if anyone can get on?

I could only get a couple quid on, or I'd have done it for you.

http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl-specials/regular-season/regular-season-mvp

Packers got a tough one against the Lions coming up, and if they get done, is it inconceivable he has had his losses at the worst possible time?

we don't have a bet on MVP, so have nothing to cover

the Rodgers bet is comeback player of the year, which will be won by Gronk or Rolando McClain

Romo is definitely in the hunt for MVP (better passing rating than rodgers, most accurate qb in the league this year, played through bad injuries, leader etc), but i don't think will win it

a) the pro-cowboys vote will be split between Murray and Romo (and there is a big anti cowboys vote even in the media)

b) the media and fans spent 3-4 years taking the mick out of Romo, so don't expect too many to do the volte face this quickly

I expect it to be Brady or Rodgers

if it was "most outstanding player" then the winner is JJ Watt, as the best player in the NFL irrespective of position but the most valuable (ie they wouldn't win without him) is one of the quarterbacks

My bad. I thought that Fred was on him for both.

The Rodgers omission from that is perplexing. Is he not eligible, because he made his comeback in the post-season, last year?

I had thought it would be Romo/Brady, but came across 'First Take', last night, and they were discussing Romo. Those 2 are pretty com, and I take it Stephen A. Smith, doesn't like/rate Romo, or the Cowboys all that much.

Bayless seemed to take great pleasure in the fact that Smith had to wear some Cowboys clothing for the whole show Cheesy

first take is a terrible show. like watching the back page of the daily star with american accents. two shock jocks who take opposing positions for ratings, and not proper analysis at all

gronkowski and mcclain are more compelling stories for comeback player of the year, especially as rodtgers must be top 3 for MVP

I guess that's what I found so amusing Cheesy

That said, they didn't really argue much on Romo/Cowboys, in that video, and Smith couldn't really disagree on all the points made on Romo, because he had all the QBR stats etc. to back it up.

Watched a few others, and see what you mean. It's mostly those two going against each other, and the 3rd person is there to referee.

Also a boxing day footy bet that I like, QPR to win away at arsenal 25/2 on 887+1, 67/5 matchbook, don't really think it's likely but think that price is good for any team to win any game in the pl (well maybe not v che away I spose!), especially vs Arsenal who on their day can capitulate against anyone. I realise QPR haven't won away all season (they may not even have picked up a point) but their home form suggests that they will pick up something away at some point.. I'm flicking £10 in anyway, gl!:)

The Bahamas bowl, the first NCAA bowl held outside the US since 1935

W Kentucky lead 49-14 and Central Michigan bring it back to 42-49 with  seconds to go

its hail mary time

So 48-49 down, an extra point to take it into OT

but they go for 2, fail, and the laterals are for nothing

Incred scenes, but he's obviously no Eric Taylor!

Seems a bit crazy to go for 2, though, given there is no time left at all?

Happy Xmas everyone!
