Tennis.
Australian Open - Women's Tournament.

Maria Sharapova to win.
7/1 generally available.
Recommend £20.
http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/australian-open/womens/winner

Sharapova is looking fit and playing really well.
Serena Williams is looking poor although only playing Hopman Cup matches.

Sharapova will be seeded #2.

Good Luck Tony!

South Africa v West Indies T20 series starts tomorrow. It's a 3 match series. West Indies have all they big hitters in minus Narine and Badree. South Africa have a very experimental side out. I'm surprised to see South Africa favourites for the first match/series.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/south-africa-v-west-indies/t20s/series-winner

Dinesh Ramdin is expected to bat @ no.4 and you can get 25/1 on him being top Windies top scorer for the series.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/south-africa-v-west-indies/t20s/top-west-indies-batsman

Ladblokes are offereing 16/1 for there to be a century in the first match, the price is crazy wrong, should be around the 8's mark.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/south-africa-v-west-indies/1st-t20/century-in-match

Bet suggestions:

£30 on Windies to win series @ 2/1 with

£10 on Ramdin top series batsman @ 25's (bit of a dart as the Windies can change the batting lineup but at the price worth a small investment)

£10 on century to be scored in first match @ 16/1 with Ladblokes.

11/10 best to win the series which i think we should leave

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/south-africa-v-west-indies/t20s/top-west-indies-batsman

sigh

when the market makers in this one are only bet365, sky, 888, pp, unibet and stan j i have nowhere to go either i am afraid. no accounts at three of them and not able to get on at the other three

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/south-africa-v-west-indies/1st-t20/century-in-match

16-1 has become 9-1, which presumably you'd miss?

haven't done too well here, sorry, too long between post going up and my getting to it

no bets completed yesterday

bits and bobs around our bets

- it is the quarters of the BDO darts today

At 1pm Brian Dawson (Eng) v Scott Mitchell (Eng)

Mitchell is 2/9 to win his quarter-final

On at 10/1, he is 11/2 3rd favourite for this now

http://www.oddschecker.com/darts/bdo-world-championship/winner

- In league two last night Shrewsbury 0-0 Luton, two top six teams dropping a couple of points. Newport County can go second in League Two on Saturday if they beat Portsmouth.

- In the Copa Del Rey last night Sevilla won 2-1 away at Granada in a first leg tie in the last sixteen. Celta vigo lost 4-2 in the first leg to Bilbao. second legs are next week. Valencia and Malaga probably wait in the quarters. In the other half Real are out, and Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are scheduled to meet in a quarter

you might recognise one of the sevilla scorers last night, from last season's premier league

- BPI says there’s a 74% chance Duke will enter their Jan. 17 game vs Louisville unbeaten http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bpi

- Andrew Wiggins grabs control of No. 1 spot on NBA.com's Rookie Ladder: http://on.nba.com/1BIBxQM

- In the NBA last night two of our teams played

The Portland Trailblazers beat Miami Heat 99-83

Toronto Raptors lost to Charlotte 103-95

it is now reported that aaron rodgers has a slight calf tear as well as a strain and is racing to be fit for sunday

Has anyone got any views on the Masters Snooker this weekend?

I have been having a good look and finding it really difficult to find a way to oppose Ronnie O Sullivan. 7/4, he has such a kind draw that looks like heading to a semi-final match up with Neil Robertson.

The other half of the draw looks horrible, I like Judd a lot but he has to get through Maguire and then the winner of Selby/Murphy to win his quarter.

One bet that I do like. Selby v Murphy is the first match on Sunday (opening day) and looks like the pick of the first round ties. The total frames market give us 11/10 for over 9.5 frames. (First to 6). I would be surprised if this ends with more than a couple of frames between them. Unfortunately it is with the Irish bookmaker. If we decide we like it then can help get on.

i had a good look this week, but couldn't bring myself to put it up at sub 2/1.

that said, ROS obv is short but at 7/4 for this when he is only 2/1 for the Crucible in May it isn't that desperate. Only four rounds to win this

I agree about the draw, most of the firepower is in the other half

Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) v Ricky Walden (Eng)

Stuart Bingham (Eng) v Marco Fu (Eng)

Barry Hawkins (Eng) v Ali Carter (Eng)

Neil Robertson (Aus) v Robert Milkins (Eng)

--

Ding Junhui (Chn) v Joe Perry (Eng)

Mark Allen (NI) v John Higgins (Sco)

Judd Trump (Eng) v Stephen Maguire (Sco)

Mark Selby (Eng) v Shaun Murphy (Eng)

he's won it five times

he won the UK on one leg, trump came back from 9-1 down and ROS still won it

Mitchell through 4-2 with a solid 94 ave. He now plays a qualifier in the quarters who hasn't averaged higher than 85 in his 3 matches so far.

Thanks Bazza, appreciate the updates.

Looks like we have a sweat, & may even have to watch this now.

Very solid start from Mitchell, who has raced to a 2 set lead.

He has twice needed a 142 checkout - & hit it both times.
