Darts

Our 10-1 each way ante post bet Scott Mtchell plays Adams in the BDO final today. Won his semi 6-0

£100,000 to the winner. Mitchell's ambition if he wins? Buy a new tractor. It's almost as if he knows tikay has a bet on

Is this man the Leigh Wiltshire of Darts?

Ha! Good analogy.

If you are a friend, or fan, of Leigh, he will be on Ch 861 on Tuesday, taking viewers through his UKPC journey, & how he ended up winning a rather nice cheque for around £120,000. Quite a fairytale win that. I don't know if he deserved it, but I was so pleased for him, he is one of the very small minority who actually put something in to poker, rather than just take from it. Proper bloke, never moans of groans, glass always half full, & is respected by everyone who knows him.

Fred is on at 33s now best 20s some 16s without running since. The Hennessy should decide whether they go or not good to see Jonjo back to form last few days

Film Buff bet

Steve Carrell 25-1, Best Actor, Foxcatcher

http://www.oddschecker.com/awards/oscars/best-actor

He is brilliant in this, a very atypical serious drama role

"Nine years ago, Bennett Miller directed Philip Seymour Hoffman in Capote, for which the late star went on to win a best actor Oscar. Critics at Cannes on Monday were tipping Miller to repeat the trick at next year's Academy Awards, following the first screening of his new movie, Foxcatcher – which features a radical change of pace for Steve Carell."

Miller also directed moneyball, and this film is right up oscar voters strasse

http://www.theguardian.com/film/2014/may/19/cannes-acclaim-for-steve-carell-in-foxcatcher-sparks-oscars-hopes

"As du Pont, Steve Carell is extraordinary. "

"Steve Carell, Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo give career-best performances in the horribly magnificent true story of the billionaire who mentored the US Olympic wrestling team"

i would regard him as a certainty to be nominated, and to shorten in price.

whether he beats Keaton i don't know, but its a great price for a real oscar-bait performance

Southampton are 3/1 top 4 and 1/4 top 6 at the moment.

The LMA manager of the year award is currently priced:- Mourino 5/4 Koeman 4/1

The award has got a bit of a history of not going to the manager that wins the league but looks for clubs that have over performed.

If Southampton finish in the top 4 then Koeman would certainly win it wouldn't he? I would also think he has a decent chance with a top 6 finish given the well documented Summer. Thoughts?

if Dyche keeps Burnley up, on those resources, will be a lot shorter than 10/1 too

Can't disagree with the post above thoughi

Robbie Savage
Robbie Savage

BBC Radio 5 live at Old Trafford

Man Utd v Southampton (16:00 GMT)

"I always think that teams can score against Manchester United, so I think we're in for a game with a lot of goals - but I think United will get more than Southampton because of their firepower. If Southampton finish in the top six and Burnley stay up, it should be a straight fight for manager of the year between Ronald Koeman and Sean Dyche."

Robbie agrees!

West Indies chased down a record score to win the series with a game to spare. Unfortunately for century backers in the last game there was a century in this match to rub it in.

I think Rogers won it last year and it was like half way during season I said get on at 8/1 or 9/1, I guess at that stage it didn't look as though they'd win title but even then I thought top 3 May have been good enough.

Afternoon Mr T.

Next weeks tennis tournaments are fairly low key as it is the week before the first major. None of the top players are playing, but there is a bet I like in the APIA. Vasek Posipsil is 40-1 and is playing on his favourite surface. He is 25 years old do should be improving and he suffered with a back injury for much of last season, but  still managed to reach the final of an ATP tournament with a tougher group of players than this. He lost to Raonic in the final which was to be expected. He played in the Hopman cup last week and won all 3 of his matches including beating Isner who if he was in this tournament would be favourite.

I think Goffin will be the one to beat in this, he is 11-2, but Pospisil is value @ 40-1.

Suggest £5 e/w Pospisil @ 40-1 with Betfred.

I think it was Pulis last year.
