Bostick, a most inapproiate name under the circumstances.

It turns out Bostick was supposed to be blocking on the onside kick so it could be caught behind him.  A mental mistake he took so badly Sports center say he was crying at his locker for 15 minutes after the game. I can't believe Morgan Burnett sat down with 5 mins left to play after making the interception, he had room to run upfield and think that was more of a mistake than a guy trying to catch an onside kick that flys over his head.   The 2 point conversion was ridiculous, was like summat from Friday night lights that. Wilson just threw it up in the air and said a prayer. Seems like Seattle were matched at 400/1 on BF to win the Super Bowl during the game tho I can't see how much was matched.

Men were crying around me, I was shaking too and the noise and atmosphere was incredible. It was an unforgettable game wasn't it?

I wanted to ask about that when it happened, but was a bit scared I'd look a total oaf for not understanding the game. (Fair comment).

Why did he just slide to the ground like that? There was acres of space in front of him, surely another 10 or 15 yards were there for the taking?

The Bostick error was horrible, but I did not like to see him being bollocked by the Coach chap in full view of everyone. That's seemed like horrendous man managament from where I comfortably sit, in my little armchair.

He went to ground to avoid any possibility of fumbling the ball and returning possession to Seattle. It was a judgement call but I think that most people would say that it was the wrong decision.
The 2 point throw from Wilson seemed more startling to me as Clinton-Dix seemed to be in ideal position to stop the reception and then just appeared to pull out to my untrained eye.

It's not too often you have a day with two 14-1 positions, that both trade at 1.01 in running in the final stages of the event, and both lose

Quite something, that.

Great days fun though, from the Kaymer affair in the morning, the Arsenal game, then that most extraordinary turnaround in the Packers game.

Losing the bets won't linger in my mind, but the amazing unpredictability of sport will. Psychological pressure, time & time again, is shown to be such a powerful thing.

Snow sports report.

Lindsey Vonn equals the record for World Cup wins, one of the greatest ever. A win today in Super G today will put her at the top of the list.

Hannes Reichelt wins in Wengen, coming off a week of flu. He showed silky skiing skills, class.

More speed events this week at Kitzbuehel & St Moritz.

The reason the coach was so annoyed was not that he failed to catch the ball but that the was attempting to catch it in the first place.
It wasn't his catch to make, he was supposed to be blocking.

I've just booked my tickets for the Jets / Dolphins game. Anyone else going ?

This reminds me of a rugby semi final when I was at school.  We were 4 points down in the last minute, and I fancied a shot at glory so summoned all my energy to rumble out of the back of the scrum and "hide" myself in the line with the backs when the ball was taking a while to be recycled.  I could taste the incoming adulation as the star outside centre arrowed the pass into my midriff at perfect height.  I will always remember the look of confusion and then horror on his face, while the ball was in mid air, when he realised the flying winger had been replaced by mystery galloping fatty.

I knocked it on.

a great read

"But this game … this was different than anything. It was the suddenness. It was Seattle being awful for 55 minutes, as bad as they’d been in any Pete Carroll Era game of consequence, Russell Wilson capping the worst game of his high school, college or pro football career with his fourth interception with 5:04 left. At that moment, Green Bay led 19-7 (it should have been more one-sided by then), and this was Wilson’s line:

Comp. Att. Yards    TD    Int.    Rating
8    22    75    0    4    7.0

At that moment, CenturyLink Field as quiet as anyone’s ever heard it, some fans got up and streamed for the exits. Wilson came to the sidelines and made a beeline for offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.

“We’re gonna win it,” Wilson said. “I know we’re gonna win it.”"

page 2 describes all the plays we are discussing.

Wow. Just wow.

These past weekends had some incredible reverses.

A few times over the weekend I thought about the mantra we have been taught on Blonde about spewing ev to cover bets/laying when almost across the line. I covered Kaymer at 1.02, all the while thinking how stupid I was, with the words of lost EV, mathematically unsound etc, continually coming to the fore.
,
I think if I have a couple of grand locked at 1.01 but for £20  of my £2k, I take all the worry away, I'm doing it every day of the week. I have no doubt over a full career of punting it may not be the long term most profitable solution, but the short term effects of a loss and "feel bad" factor, gotta be far worse.

We have seen enough this weekend, if you had been on the wrong end of some these results you would be a gibbering wreck.

Three big examples in two weeks, means 300 times you gotta wait to break even. Food for thought.

I think the proper 1.01 pros love weekends like this even though they do their bollocks short term as it wipes out a lot of smaller rolled 1.01 players so it is easier for them to get placed in the 1.01 and 1000/1 'queue' in all future events.  Having been a 1.01 backer and 1000/1 layer in selective circumstances in selective sports for years i have only ever backed one 1.01 loser and never been close to laying a 1000/1 winner.  The 1.01 loser i backed was totally insane and over £100 was done on 1000/1 at the same time my lump at 1.01 was matched.  So i got 1/100 about probably a 1/2000 shot which i don't mind long term.

Queue management is the key 'edge' in being a 1.01 backer or 1000/1 layer.

Really interestng stuff Arb, I might look abit stupid here but I really don't know that much about this sort of thing, wouldn't mind u putting up a basic sort of guide when u Get the chance, not to start doing it but just maybe the reasons behind it, how far in advance u have to queue, bankroll management etc, things like this interest me quite a lot. If u don't want to clog up TFT happy to get a PM or start another thread (there is a Betfair one on here somewhere). Cheers.

Probably a few sicker than us  Shocked

Cheers Mark and Graham, do you know the biggest price Seattle were matched to win the game? I'm guessing the 1.01 GB was after Burnetts interception?

120/1 was biggest which suprised me they were done at 400/1 for the superbowl.

Cheers,

I was surprised they were done at 400 too but see it was only for bits.then again being caught in the moment it didn't feel quite like a 100 on GB at any stage of the match either.

Another sizzling PaddyPower offer as I know that you are all big fans:

Log into your account every day for the next 30, and you'll have an exclusive enhanced priced offer sitting there waiting for you. Today it's Victoria Azarenka to beat Sloane Stephens 2-0 enhanced from Evens to a whopping 15/8!

Evens may have been a little short but 15/8 is definitely value.
I could get the best part of £20 on.

Azarenka is far from match fit but Sloane Stephens appears to be living on a different planet most of the time recently so it's definitely a decent bet.

Azarenka is 1.44 to win the match and 2.2 to win 2-0 on Betfair. I'm not sure that these odds are particularly consistent - they seem to indicate a lesser chance of her winning 2-0 than I would expect.

It's possible that this offer may be restricted to ice-creams like me. Smiley
