The Tal v Bobby1 derby?

They can't stop 'em
The boys from Tottenham
The boys from White Hart Lane
Oh!
Spurs are on their way to Wembley*

*or we'll defend horrendously, miss a load of sitters and I'll be back to shouting at Chadli, while hiding from the inevitable stream of "bants" coming my way via myriad platforms. One of the two for sure.

Remembered the Badiel and Skinner sketch when Spurs had been banned from the FA Cup in the 90s.

Went from Spurs are on their way to Wembley, to Spurs are on their way to Norwich, to Spurs are on their way to Tottenham.

The song we've always sung for Soldado is the standard Volare song:

Soldado
Ohhhhhhh
Soldado
Ohhhhhhh
He came from sunny Spain
To play at White Hart Lane

Recognising the changing circumstances, the last part is now:

He came from sunny Spain
To play with Harry Kane

several firms have been cutting Peter Beardsley to be the next Newcastle manager with the former favourite of the Toon Army now priced between 12/1 and 28/1.

Another name has emerged as well, however, with William Hill reporting a 'a significant gamble' on Bernd Schuster.

They have slashed the odds from 100/1 to 7/1, catapulting him into the top five in the betting with his price ranging between 4/1 and 10/1.

“The gamble suggests at the very least that Bernd is not just on the radar but almost certainly he has made the shortlist,” said the firm's Rupert Adams

Afternoon Mr T.

i think we should back Dodig on the game handicap in tonight's match v Nishikori. I think Nishikori will prevail but we can get a 7.5 game start and odds against. I think the key to this bet is that Nishikori's serve is weak and liable to be broken. I can see this game going to tie breaks and Dodig getting a set is certainly possible.

Suggest £20 Dodig + 7.5 games @ 11/10 with betfred.

Dodig, I v Nishikori, K
Game Handicap -7.5
   Dodig, I    11/10    7.5
Total stake   £ 20.00
Estimated return   £ 42.00
Full stake   £ 20.00
Full estimated return   £ 42.00

Did you look into this one properly Hector? The first thing to check for is a players well being. At the end of his last match Dodig had the trainer out and took a timeout serving for the match. Very risky proposition imo, especially with his injury last season.

Thanks for the advice, I will add that to the list of things I mull over with my coffee for my next suggested tip. How about coming onto Fred and give us all a tip for something to win rather than someone else's to lose? I sometimes find it lonely here with regards to tennis betting. But it is certainly better now that Merenovice is dabbling in the women's again.

Well done mate.

I just find the whole thread a bit dodgy considering the ease in which ppl in the industry can view it, if I share my lampy punts and many people get involved it just gives them yet another reason to look at things.

So I will just have to toddle on holding hands with Mr Novice then !

Raonic just won in 3 sets, would be nice if we can get Djokovic beaten before they have to meet.

Careful hector, Mere prefers "dabbling in women".

Tom Dum going well, nice bet that. Is stage 5 to Willunga still the crucial stage cws?

I've been quite happy with Dumoulin's performance so far. It's a lot to ask from a guy to be at his peak form so early in the season. Still, I get the feeling that comparatively weak finishing on both Stage 2 and Stage 3 has left a vital 6 bonus seconds on the table. This might make all the difference come Saturday, as I don't believe that Dumoulin can win on Willunga Hill. Nevertheless, in the past three editions of the TDU, the winner on Willunga Hill has not gone on to win the overall, so it'll very much be a case of limiting his losses if he wants to make the podium (or, dare I say it, win). Here are some interesting quotes I picked up from the web:

“I’m happy with my third place,” said Dumoulin. “The boys took me and Simon perfectly to the bottom of the climb. I had a nice gap with Porte, Evans and Pozzovivo, but at the top, a group came back and Rohan Dennis attacked. I attacked but could not catch him and got passed on the line by Evans. I tried behind him, but I could not close the gap. It is unfortunate that Evans passed me in the last few metres. But I am certainly pleased with this third place.

"I will try to defend the podium spot. The stage to Willunga on Saturday will be decisive. Whether I can be better on a more regular climb is hard to say in advance. It's going to be a battle with both BMC riders and Porte."

Oioi, Wetty has given us another great cycling sweat.

It might be more of a sweat than you think. I'm sure it was only Boylesports that offered 4 places on the each-way bet. Pretty sure that Fred went with Ladbrokes which only pays out for 3. Hope you can prove me wrong.
