For balance, I was on Draw/NE on half-time/full-time.
It was still a shocking call.
Everyone is doing it in, and Tal is flicking in world class aftertimes?
Usually the other way round tbf. That was the one green in a sea of red on my list of bets (yes, I have colour coded pens).
Sorry we couldn't get the Katy Perry song right. On that note,
if you want a world class aftertime, check out Flushy's Twitter account.

Amateur hour on the related bets tho.

Daily Report
Profit on Month £370.84
Outstanding Bets £3597.97
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web&pli=1#gid=19
A loss of £65 yesterday
£20 of that on the GP la Marseillaise cycling with both selected riders unplaced
£45 loss on the superbowl.
the superbowl produced three winners for us
- Tom Brady MVP for a profit of £105. Not a flawless performance but he threw for 328 yards and 4 touchdowns against one of the greatest defenses ever including two absolute money fourth quarter touchdown drives.
- Marshawn Lynch overs for a profit of £30. 102 rushing yards needing 88.5
- Shane Vereen rushing and receiving overs for a profit of £20. 77 yards needing 42.5
the losers included Roaring at Katy Perry's 1st choice song, the same as 108 dates on her world tour, for -£40. Dark Horses was played second
i thought it was a very fun half time performance.
in the end though the difference between a profit and loss on the event came from contriving to lose first half unders from 0-0 at half time and 7-7 with a minute to go in the half. Two touchdowns later, including the tying touchdown that very few coaches even attempt, most kick the field goal to go in 14-10, and we conjure a loser out of nowhere
in that second quarter the Patriots had no answer for Chris Matthews, but in fairness, they didn't even know he was a question to start with.
and then the end of the game. By now the game unders is sunk, and with the ball on the one yard line, three downs to go, two time outs to use we need Seattle to score for second half scoring to beat first half scoring
The rest of course, is history with the only interception from the one yard line in the NFL this season
Its a shame the Seahawks didn't have a rhinoceros at running back to hand it off too really. Oh, wait, they did
All in all though, an absolute classic, swinging one way then the next and £45 was decent value for the sweats, even if we was robbed guv.

ongoing positions
Southampton lost at home, the start of an epic swoon towards inevitable relegation
Arsenal scored 5 at home, with our Arsenal top scorer bet injured
Both our bets surived the first show of The Jump. Louis Spence went down on a teatray faster than Tindall, Steve O struggled to get past a googlebox person. Not sentences i ever thought i would write on a Monday morning

tighty just out of interest if Seattle had scored the 1 yard play at the end who would have been MVP in your opinion?

Matthews or Wilson. Probably Wilson
recency bias in MVP voting, what happens late in games weighs heavy on minds of voters there and then

Longer term discussion.
I'm struggling to see how Shaun Murphy isn't currently value for the World Snooker at 14-1.
He dismantled Neil Robertson in the final of the Masters, who himself had hammered Ronnie and Carter in the previous rounds.
I know Murphy will have shortened after this, but I'm not sure he has shortened enough, considering the woefully out of form Selby and Ding are on offer at around 8-1.
It might be that this was just a burst of Murphy form, but it might be one of those occasions when we are scratching our head as to how he could have gone off 14-1 at the crucible if he maintains his form for a couple of months.
I think it's worth a £20 interest as he may go off 4th favourite if he continues to play as he has in the upcoming events (I assume Ronnie, Trump and Robertson will lead the market)

the cut off for world championship seedings is after the Welsh open next month
we know selby will be 1, ding/ronnie/robertson/trump to follow etc
the rest currently are on
http://www.worldsnooker.com/staticFiles/ba/c6/0,,13165~181946,00.pdf
these of course may change slightly after the Welsh
the Masters as a top 16 invitational was non ranking, so murphy is 10 currently and would have to play a top 8 in the last 16
this is a slight issue i have with backing him now
another would be that form now isn't necessarily form in may
of course, he was sensational in the masters and 14-1 allows for a lot of the risks

Haha, it was late and I forgot this ->
We got bluffed by Katy Perry, the sneaky cow!
I guess Flushy must have seen a few aftertimes himself, in order to have felt the need to tap that out, lol.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/to-stay-up
West Brom 1/4 and Stoke 1/100 to stay in the EPL. £50 double recommended. Stoke literally can't go down (400/1 is available in the relegation markets) so we are just adding 1% onto the WBA bet which is decent value as they are close to 5/1 on bf to go down (9/2 available with fixed odds firms) and everyone knows Pulis record of keeping teams up. Victor is 3/1 they go down and just seemed to have applied the default 'other side' of the 3/1 for the stay up price which is wrong.
Free feel to put these two in any other VC bets in the next week which are long term if you don't like the idea of backing a 1/4 shot ante post. If anyone else spots anything decent ante post to add to this double can you post the selections please.

we'll use this in something else that crops up. bet vic balance isn't that high, so rather than tie up a chunk of it at 1/4 for 3 months we'll look to churn the balance and park the 1/4 with something else

At what point does someone tell Lynch he isn't getting the ball on the one yard line to win the super bowl?
Might be the stupidest call I've seen this season.
This
Especially as I was on Seattle, 2nd half most points and under 1.5 yard shortest TD. I brought up a little bit of sick.
Me too (and a load others I'd imagine)
I made the mistake of counting my money. Still can't believe the call.
However, Seattle got this far with some adventurous play calling and I suppose NE were expecting the run. But Lynch gets 2 (maybe 3 with timeouts) gos to go half a yard. Just as well he doesn't do interviews

time may see some revisionism on the call, we'll see. its hailed as a gutsy great play if they make it and new england were in goalline defense against three wide receivers
the interception got belichick out of some stick, as it was surprising that he wasn't calling a time out to try to give brady some time to get down the field if seattle scored
there was even talk that new england should let seattle score there to have some time left!
the play offs as a whole were sensational
in the nfc detroit got jobbed by a call v dallas, dallas got jobbed by a call v green bay, green bay jobbed themselves by calls against seattle then seattle jobbed the last 30 seconds of the superbowl
big swings in every game, and in 3 of the 4 i was the wrong way on it. character building :-)

2.50 at lingfield
Happy dreams is 25/1 with Goodfixed and OKs (16/1 or worse elsewhere)
It's only ran once (finished 7/10) but it got a bad start.
Worth a £5 EW if the price is still there.
Horsey types please let us know if 25's is correct and no value

Alpine Ski World Championships. Vail-Beaver Creek, Colorado.
First up is the women's Super G on Tuesday 2nd.
Hometown girl Lindsey Voon is odds on favourite. Her results this season 2 DNF 1 1. Rarely oppose her, but the stats show she is a tad weaker in SG than Downhill, & her turns this season have looked less sharp & dynamic than years gone by.
Three girls have the potential to overturn Vonn.
Lara Gut has yet to find any consistent form, although did win the last downhill at St Moritz. Beaver Creek is probably her favourite venue, last raced in 2013, she won both downhill & Super G (Vonn was out injured).
Anna Feninger, has been consistent, consistently second all year! Has great record on the Raptor hill, a 2nd & 3rd in 2013/11. Technically excellent, but can lack raw aggression to commit to a run fully.
Tina Maze, the best all round skier. Wins this season in Slalom, Giant Slalom & Downhill, but has been just as likely to finish outside the top ten. Unwell in St Moritz, but if she's recovered well she'll be in the hunt, a skier who finds her best form for the big events.
Close call, but I think I like Gut the best on this hill, always aggresive in the turns to find extra speed, win or bust skiing. Watch her run (3 minutes in) at Beaver Creek in 2013. Same again this year & she''ll be close. Small stakes 8/1.
