Daily Report

Profit on Month £348.84

Outstanding Bets £3616.97

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=19

a loss of £33 yesterday with both backed horses unplaced in the Betfair hurdle won by Violet Dancer on a day where the Champion Jockey x19 Grand National winner x1 Gold Cup winner x2 Sports Personality of the Year winner x1 announced his impending retirement

ongoing positions

Tennis

Janowicz plays Gasquet today in the final of ATP Montpellier after his three set winner over Sousa in yesterday's semi

Rugby Union

Scotland lost 15-8 in Paris in the opening round of the six nations. Scotland look an exciting side in the making with finally some backs to score points but our top tounament points scorer Gregg Laidlaw had a slow start, with 3 points from 1 kick in the game

NBA

the Chicago Bulls thrashed the Pelicans 107-72

Anthony Davis went off injured for the Pelicans last night....at which point things took a turn for the worse

the Dallas Mavs beat the Portland trailblazers 111-101, in overtime propelled by veteran superstar Dirk Nowitzki's 25 points

NCAA

Duke beat Notre Dame 90-60 to go 20-3 for the season, currently nationally ranked number 4. Their star player Jahlil Okafor has scored 10+ points in 23 straight games, tying Duke's freshman record

Football

Premier League

Good news for the Crystal Palace bets with another away win, a real smash and grab against Leicester

Just a point for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, not much use for our handicap bet

A 93rd minute winner at Loftus road for Southampton. More grist to the Koeman manager of the year mill, and i should probably take the relegation bet as a loser now they have 45 points

Newcastle and Stoke play each other today, West Ham and West Brom in action too

Championship

Watford beat Blackburn 1-0 with a late goal. Watford remain 6th

Fulham drew 1-1 at home with Birmingham and are 15 points off the top six, not really in the consistent form to make a run at the play offs

Bamford scored again for Middlesborough

He now has 9 in the league this season, two behind penalty taker Leadbitter from midfield. that bet could come down to the wire

Hooper scored a hatrick for Norwich

Such a shame he was injured just before the season started and couldn't get back in the team until Adams left

Since his return, according to whoscored.com, Hooper has a better conversion rate (45.3%) than any other player with 5+ goals in the Championship this season

Hooper now has 9 this season, 4th in the goalscorer standings has 13. Just a squeak for us if his form continues

League one

Peterborough took the lead at Fleetwood but were held to a 1-1 draw

Doncaster lost 2-0 at home to Walsall

So Peterborough are 10th, set neither to get promoted or finish in the bottom half

they have 38 points, Doncaster 36 in the chunky match bet that we have

League Two

Newport lost their fourth in a row, this time at Wimbledon, are 6th now nine points off the top 3

Scotland

Hearts won 3-2 at Livingston and are 19 (N-N-N-nineteen) points clear at the top of the championship

Non League

At 0-0 the quixotically named Crusher McGrath blasted a penalty over the bar. 30 seconds later, straight from the goal kick Burgess Hill town FC went down the other end and scored on their way to a 3-0 win

Guernsey are 11th, some 24 points off the top 3

Not sure if we were lucky or unlucky with Janowicz. He has been ill for 2 days so I guess on the whole we got lucky to get
to the final. Ah well onto next weeks tournaments.

Next weeks tennis in Brazil has one of my favourite players from last year back on his favourite surface. Pablo Cuevas was consistently under rated by the bookies and won 2 tournaments. There are several players who could win this and Cuevas is the biggest price of the contenders.

Suggest £10 e/w Cuevas @ 16-1 with Victor, Corals and Laddies. Those with Paddy P can get 20-1.

Any views on the BAFTA for Outstanding British Film?

Imitation Game         10/11
Theory of Everything 5/4
Pride                            12/1
71                                  25/1
Under the Skin            33/1
Paddington                 40/1

Seems reasonable to call this a two horse race between the the film with guy who played Stephen Hawking on TV and the film with the guy who is playing him in a film.

The best actor nod is Cumberbatch's fifth nomination by BAFTA, although his first for a film. He has been unsuccessful on his previous four and he won't be beating Redmayne/Keaton this year. The film itself has had some criticism for its rather liberal recounting of events, when the truth of the Alan Turing story was as shocking and astonishing a story as could be told.

Must admit I'd love The Theory of Everything to win this. Any views here?

Winner. Hope people decided to give it a spin.

What are you claiming a winner on Tal? I couldn't make out a recommend when you posted it, more asking for views.

Burnley are now 9/5 to stay up.

Dyche has been pushed out to 20/1 with BV to win LMA manager of the year.

We are already with Koeman at 4/1, now best price 2/1. Jose still heads the market at 6/5.

Dyche must be worth a fiver at that price? If he keeps Burnley up, given their resources, then he would surely have to be in the discussion. As it’s voted for by the managers of all 92 clubs then surely your lower tier clubs are more likely to recognise plucky Burnley than moneybags Mourinho?
