I think Rangers are a backable price tonight against the Doonhammers at Ibrox.  As much I think this particular team is gash, it was only a matter of time before the bookies started pushing them out a little.  The price is still a tad skinny, but its ripe enough for us to have a little tickle and perhaps replenish the coffers for Cheltenham tomorrow.

Rangers have also been on a pretty horrific run, and despite my misgivings of the latest boardroom debacle I think things will have settled down enough in the past few days to get the players settled and I also expect a decent crowd at Ibrox tonight.

8/13 with VC or Coral is well worth a bet for however much Fred feels comfortable with.

wednesday..looks a less attractive betting line up than earlier?

All ideas welcome, i can collate into some positions tomorrow, taking into account offers that arise

1 The Neptune

10 runners, very competitive.

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-11-cheltenham/13:30/winner

Nicholls Canyon, Windsor Park, Outlander or something else?

2 The RSA

Another competitive one 9 runners

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-11-cheltenham/14:05/winner

7/1 bar 4 taking in don poli, southfield theatre, the young master etc

3 coral cup

26 runners to wade through

7/1 the field

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-11-cheltenham/14:40/winner

4 queen mum 2m championship

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-11-cheltenham/15:20/winner

a corker, sprinter sacre, sire de grugy and the rest

we are on sprinter sacre via offer

lots of questions all season long about those at the head of the market

5 the cross country

currently 16 runners, paying 4 places

how many of the 16 have a realistic chance?

we are on any currency via offer

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-11-cheltenham/16:00/winner

6 the fred winter

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-11-cheltenham/16:40/winner

22 runners, 7/1 the field

7 the bumper

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-11-cheltenham/17:15/winner

24 runners 7/1 the field

over to you

Baradari in Coral Cup EW 16/1 5 places is my idea of a good bet tomorrow

Fast finishing 5th in Fred Winter last year on good ground, won a decent race over 2m 3f at Ascot last time (beaten horses since run well),  further step up in trip will be ideal, unexposed, trainer won this race before

Only early but its about same price for win on bf (18)  after comm, more likely to get backed then get bigger though I would think

GL if you get involved Smiley

Edit:- VC are 18/1

I'm officially sulking as Fred continues to ignore my suggestions and four of the last five that I have put up here have won(7/2, 3/1,5/2, etc.) obviously unburdened by Fred's hard-earned, one of which was declined because of "bad grammar".

Tough card tomorrow that's for sure, but the gold cup looks to be an absolute cracker tomorrow, really looking forward to it!

Hate to say if, but wouldn't back SS with someone else's money

I'm guessing that you mean the QM Aaron.

I'm quite firmly in the SDG camp but looking forward to it immensely.

Especially now that I have Fred onside Smiley

This was exactly my thinking when I saw the price. Doesn't sound like they are playing great so far but on regardless.

I don't know how we managed to contrive to lose today but time to get back in the saddle.

I looked at the Neptune at first and thought that isn't that great, but I looked again and we effectively have 7 runners competing for 3 places, all the best odds win prices close to betfair, and a few offers on top, so it is a nice little betting heat.

I can't get an offer on my favoruite horse here, but Beast of Burden is a bet anyway.  There are a lot of flat types in the race, and given this ran over 3 miles last time it might just outstay the lot.  £15 e/w seems the Tighty preference, so lets do that at 12/1 with a good range of bookies.

I also think we should do a Hills offer on one of the the top 4, given all of them are going to break even long run if you back them e/w.  Similar to the one above, I think you want something that stays here, so going to go for Outlander £25 e/w on Hills mobile at 4/1.

They continue not to disappoint me as a spectator but as a gambler I am at a loss to understand it, they really needed a win tonight.  There is every chance they don't even make the play-of now if Hibs continue to pile on the pressure.  I think Rangers other game in hand is against Hearts.  That is now massive.

They ruined several bets tonight!

They don't need to finish second to go up. 3rd plays 4th, winner then plays second. Winner then plays second bottom. Unless it changed from last year?

The RSA is another nice race.  9 runners of which 3 are big prices, so you effectively have 6 fighting for 3 places, so you should get a bit of value backing any of the top 6 each way at best prices.  I have just backed The Young Master each way with Vic at 11/2.  That means I get to beat both the place and the win prices by quite a lot.  Where is tighty?  For you stats nuts, his sire is a sprinter, as his damn, this race is over 3 miles.  He has also raced on the all weather at Kempton, Wolverhampton, Southwell and Lingfield.  All in all, hard to resist I think you'll agree.

I am also hillsmobiling Don Poli.  I know this race has a bad record for fancied horses, but I can't help myself.

The County looks a bit of a nightmare, going to have to quit.  I really want to back Aux Ptits Soins, but can't get on at 9/1 and get 5 places, so will just have to look in the morning.

The Champion Chase is much nicer.  With the issues around Sire De Grugy and Sprinter Sacre, I think we should definitely back Champagne  Fever each way given how valuable the place part is.  He also has a v good Cheltenham record.  Suggest we up the stakes and go £40 each way with Hills mobile (5/1 best price).

I might also try and get 10/1 Mr Mole each way in the morning (can only get PP right now)

Sprinter Sacre has been drifting this week though, so don't see it as a given at all.   I think the chance it could be last or pull up must put many off?  Will see tomorrow.

Cross country chase.  If we get 16 and each way it will be great as there are a few no hopers in it.  But the race is on 16 now, so will just have to wait for tomorrow afternoon (prob backing Any Currency and Quantitative Easing e/w if we get 16).  If there aren't 16, I will probably duck it.

edit.   don't think there is much in the last 2 races for me.  I can't get the price and 4 places Pylonthepressure in the last and I quite like Zarib in the one before, but could have done with the bookies going nuts and offering 5 places.
