If you're feeling adventurous, I like 2 of Alan Kings at big prices in the hcaps, both progressive and open further improvement, will like the ground.  He's had a couple at biggish prices this week hit the frames already

The win prices are close to bf and 5 places available so cant go wrong Smiley

Pertemps - The Tourard Man @ 25/1
Plate - Hollow Penny @ 40/1

GL if you get involved

K&^&$TDFGVSE$W££RTGRT%^$TEFSC

i mean, if i don't and they win or place my evening will be ruined. Watching Alex on the One show at the end of a long day just won't be the same, it will gnaw away at me and ......

5 places on bfsb

£10 e/w at 25-1 The Tourard Man

5 places

£7.60 e/w at 40-1 Hollow penny

restricted

bits of 50-1 around but not available for us

if there is anything i have missed please shout before 1.30pm

saphir de rheu remains outstanding

i think aaron mentioned irish saint, no reasoning

anything else?

any omissions on my part are not deliberate, it is simply the worst week of the year (in some respects)

I can do Saphir for Fred, if you like?

its ok thanks

it was just the usual 3 places 4 places try and get the best terms problem

a lot of the 4 places best price are non bookmakers, to us

Single - 15:20

Saphir Du Rheu - |Race Winner|

Odds: 6/1

Each way : 1/4

1 lines at £15.00 per line

Total Stake for this bet: £30.00

Potential Return:£142.50

Time : 12/3/2015-12:26

Receipt No:O/142640973/0000897

tikay, something alarming seems to have happened to the ladbrokes balance. have you been busy?

Quality rub when I've knocked the lot in. Wink

No worries, today is the day.

Plan B is to re-deposit what we withdrew earlier this week, marv.

I'm having a shocker.

Did anyone hear John Inverdale's classic slip of the tongue live on radio 5 yesterday?

He was interviewing Lizzie Kelly and John Francome and tried to say "rose-tinted" or "rose-coloured" spectacles but instead came out with "rose-c*nted spectacles".

This was live on air too. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

I saw it reported, yes. As you say, could not happen to a nicer guy. Sort of.

I had to drive to work midway through Cheltenham Day One, so tuned in to Radio 5 on the wireless, & promptly had to tune off, as Mr Inverdale was whittling away as per, in what someone else described yesterday, rather splendidly I thought, as mindless fuckwittery.

I know that national radio has to appeal to the masses, not just racing enthusiasts, but there's dumbing down, & there's John Inverdale.

Ugh.

Blimey there's a first.

Tikay obviously is not a fan of John Inverdale and I think he's great.

I wonder if I can continue this day of firsts by backing my first winner of the Festival.

Sybarite 2.05 at 20/1 seems a good bet. Hasnt been penalised for close couple of good runs where he was just coming too late/jumping denied him a shot. CD winner, won on good ground. Only bad run of the season came over brush which didnt suit.

not sure if people have seen this

the last click of the camera before the horses went through the guard rail in the cross country yesterday

the racing post photographer, who took this, had his leg broken moments later

i thought, watching that the Mcmanus horse was going so well up the inner that it looked a probable winner..until the french jockey jumped that fence!

The winner was absolutely cantering in behind.

Quantitiveeasing is a bit of a dodge and Nina was hitting the front plenty early enough.

I think both these would have been placed probably, but doubt they would have beaten the winner.

Morning Mr T's.

Amid all the Cheltenham shenanigans it is easy to miss that there is a decent tennis tournament starting today in Indian Wells, California. The market at the top is the usual suspects, Djokovic around evs and Federer 3 to 1 ish and neither appeal as a bet. This tournament has dished up some surprises in the past so I am looking at a couple of longer priced shots.

My first suggestion is Thomas Berdych at 25-1, not a player I completely trust to win finals but he is a bit of a flat track bully and very capable of getting to the final. He has reached the semi final here in the past and he has showed some good form this season. He also didn't play in the Davis cup last weekend.

The other player I like is Gilles Simon at 200-1 generally but there is a betfair sportsbook at 250-1. He has already won a tournament this season and he is an excellent returner which I think is important here with the ball bouncing all over the place. Both players are in the bottom half of the draw which has a number of players that have caused Federer problems in the past.

Suggest £5 e/w on both of them.

Good to see a tennis punter on the site, you have missed all the action in the qualifiers, it started a few days ago Smiley

When you say this tournament has thrown up a few surprises,do you mean players losing in early rds etc?  In terms of shock winners of this event, only one shock in the last 20 years or so, all the big names win this event, last shock was Ljubucic who came in at 300/1 or bigger I think it was.

Berdcyh 25/1, he is a player who will take advantage of the top players having a bad day at the office but when he had a h2h with these guys he just doesn't have the ability to beat them consistently.    Berdych has a nightmare of a draw, that bottom half is a minefield. if he comes through that half I will tip my hat to you.  I see he has simon in the same half, doesn't get any easier for him, Gasquet holds a dominating h2h against him and then has Raonic or Dimitrov waiting, although Simon will beat this opponent if they are slightly off their game.  Djokovic draw couldn't have been hand picked better if you tried.  Really tough going, Wawrinka would be my pick from the tough bottom draw and Nishikori in the top half as his draw is soft.

good luck sir.

Hacked up, and at an amazing 9/2, well done Adz, that helps balance the books.

Leading question

are Valseur Lido and Apache stronghold not really nice e/w bets in the JLT?

four horses below 18/1 in the betting, 8 runners

almost a 100% book

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/cheltenham/13:30/winner

2nd Apache Stronghold, 3rd Valseur Lido.

:-)
