Anyway.
Fred is on at 6/5 so fingers crossed they win. There might be a smidge of value in the price, there might not.

Despite my slight criticism, I actually have Begovic in my fantasy team, hence why i have watched him a bit closer than i may normally. He's getting the tin tack if he lets one in this week! Clean sheet and a penalty save please.

Should Watford be odds against at home to Ipswich tomorrow?

Last 13 games

Watford W10 D1 L2
Ipswich W5 L6

Ipswich lost last 3 away.  Last 9 meetings at vicarage road Watford won 8, Ipswich won 1.

Does this match really end up in anything other than a home win more than half of the time?  What odds did Boro go off at home to Ipswich recently?

I like Watford tomorrow, no idea of the odds though, will be in a few small bets. However, do people take notice of previous records in that match? Always a stat that seems quite irrelevant.

Hopefully Watford win this and that Deeney bloke gets a hat trick.

You're right it's probably irrelevant.  More of a supporter thing - on the Ipswich forum they are full of doom and gloom about how they always lose at Watford.  Probably doesn't impact the players though due to the turnovers in playing squad.  It's not like historical tennis results where it has an impact on player mentality.

Closer to home for you & me, after losing last Saturday, Brentford won away to Blackburn on Tuesday, & tomorrow have - on paper - a soft home game v Millwall. Those with no connecton to Brentford will wonder what all the fuss is about, but to people like you & I, we've never seen anything like it. The added fun is QPR going down, so if we could just get the job done, that'd be a cracking bonus. Always been important to be better than that Loftus Road shambles.

It really is a tremendously exciting time to be a Bees fan. Even with the Warburton news - news which would formerly be met with universal doom and gloom and be the death knell for any potential success - was generally met with acceptance that it was a progressive decision taken with the clubs immediate and longer term future in mind. Being sat on the playoff spots with 8 games remaining was certainly not expected but now we're there, why not dream of what may be?! Not to mention a new stadium on the horizon with the ground being broken in the autumn.

Would it be too much to ask for the perfect trifecta of a Bees promotion and QPR and Fulham going down?!

Totes 1/2 on Barcelona to qualify vs PSG is a fill your boots job http://www.oddschecker.com/football/champions-league/psg-v-barcelona/to-qualify

Barca shouldn't be any longer than they were against City (1/3) and other firms have opened in the 1/4 to 1/3 range.

thanks for this, but i missed it when i wasn't around

4/11 now

Middlesborough were around the 6/5 mark

i looked because i was bamford watching

watford tomorrow are 6/5 in a place

default sort of price for a home championship favourite near the top

key game for the promotion bet, deeney and murphy both playing too

Fair enough.  If Boro priced up like that then guess the price is about tight.  Unless they were both wrong Wink

Personally I would expect to be in the poor house if I layed Boro and Watford in both these matches over a 1000 sample at 6-5 but hey-ho.

As you say we have plenty on this match already.  I will be in attendance!

I see stoke are > evens (again) to win at home against a team that are worse than them. This time against Palace. I am struggling to see what the bookies know differently that makes them that price.

always fearful of putting anything prem related up but surely this is a bet and possibly a big one too.

any comments??

Don't ask questions.  Gift horses and mouths spring to mind.  Are they bigger than 6/5 now then?  They were 6/5 earlier.

6/5 with Puppy power. Fred can get on at 23/20 with Billys. I have read that 6/5 is the standard price for a home team when the teams are evenly matched, so I reckon 23/20 is still value by a long way here. I'm still a bit reluctant to put this up as a recommend; I do not have the stats to hand that the bookies have, but Stoke have been formidable at home. Maybe they are having a ManU type season where their stats do not reflect their results so they are continually being overpriced.

Anyway I've only had £20 in the end and recommend the same for Fred

Palace are reborn under pardew. They have goals in them and the stoke defence hasnt been good this season, shawcross may be back though but wollschied is out. 6/5 about right IMO.

Whilst i agree Palace are smoking right now that recency bias is what is probably creating this price on Stoke as Stoke quietly go about their business as usual.  I don't buy the Stoke defence argument at all.  Stoke have the 7th lowest goals conceded total in the EPL this season even though they have had huge long term disruption of their settled back four for the vast majority of the season in comparison to previous seasons where the keeper and back 4 were virtually unchanged for the entire season (esp the two centre halves - Huth and Shawcross)

I can't see how you can call it recency bias.  Pardew has only had 12 games, so all his games are going to be recent.  His record on the last 6 was much the same as the first 6 and about the same as Stoke's last 6.  I guess the Pardew effect is going to fade as the season reaches its close.  Sort of how Newcastle did under him when their position is assured.

Dunno if 6/5 is value, but that 40 point bet looks good on palace right now.

Haven't posted in here for a while. I do read the thread but some days it is hard to keep up with the actual tips being given out from  all the nonsense that goes off in here.

Anyway, I KNOW this is probably a stupid question but I keep seeing the words 'ice cream' used here and I honestly haven't a clue what it means.....can someone please explain? (in simple terms)

Plus can i also ask why the proper names are not used when talking about betting sites?

One last thing......can someone please suggest a banker for the horse racing tomorrow (Saturday 21st).....need one for my scoop6 selections.

Thank you

Ice cream is short for ice cream freezer, which is rhyming slang in betting parlance for "geezer". These are the mug punters the bookies make their profit from.

We don't use real names of bookies because some have concerns here that some of the odds compilers keep an eye on the thread, so can make adjustments before we can get on.

As for tomorrow's racing, an orange lady will win Best Dressed.

ice cream = a poor punter, who doesn't recognise value and these days often synonymous with those who can still get on with certain firms, possibly people doing "hail mary" accumulators etc

names...if i put "skybet" into this post i know google alerts will pick up on this and on their daily report of media activity skybet get linked to the thread....whether this is the same for other sites not sure but it is true for skybet....so its google, SEO (and blonde is good on SEO) etc etc

Hello to the team in leeds

there is a debate about who follows the thread, but the suggestion is that if you put in the real name the bookie is more likely to see the tip, cut the price etc etc etc so it became convention to put nicknames in...sort of hiding in plain sight

racing....over to someone else
