But lots of opportunities to back our 7,8, or 9 to top score. Maybe back an Aussie to get a 300.

By the way Mr T did you read that Camel wrote that I was the most respected tipster? I can only think he has forgotten those ridiculous stories wot I wrote.

"Tikay's dinner party with Dubai" and "An An Evening with Mere Novice" were absolute classics, isn't it about time we had another one?

I don't recall either, for some reason. Maybe the MereNovice one, something about a bat cave, perhaps?

Links appreciated.

Oh, & how about Uncle Ralph getting on with his Canada/USA odessey, from back in the 70's?

As soon as the writer's cramp eases I will continue with my story Tony.

The highlight of your dinner-party was that you got Cirio Fileti di Pomelo rather than your regular Tesco bargain tomatoes especially because Dubai was coming.

Ahh yes, remember it now.

I purchased two tins of Tesco Value chopped toms this morning, as it happens. Value, see? 2 chicken breasts, 3 poached eggs topped off with tinned toms, a meal fit for a king.

Tighty could you mull this over with your morning coffee.

Are England correctly priced at 8/15 for the test series v the West Indies. We were abject in the world cup, seem uninterested, badly prepared, tired, and away from home before a long summer ahead. I looked at the WI squad and saw a lot of new faces but it won't take much to avoid defeat will it?  Should we be laying England?

tempting as it is, they are worse off than us

- major players will be at the IPL
- major conflict players and administrators
- lack of bowling talent
- the odd performance from jason holder aside, there was nothing much to suggest the WI were on the right track yet at the CWC
- Chanderpaul plays, still a class act

So at this early stage, i wasn't getting too excited

i was getting excited about the prospect of the the Aussies coming here and winning 5-0 later in the summer

loads of batting coming into its peak (steve smith notably), johnson, starc, hazlewood etc faster and more threatening than any english quick i could think of

think this series will represent our low ebb against a team near the top of its fortunes

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/ashes/test/series-correct-score

if it gets priced up anywhere near 12-1 elsewhere, i will be looking closely

Presumably, the greastest threat to that is the English weather, which could skuttle the bet so easily?

Yes

maybe dutch 4-1 5-0 3-1 etc

something for nearer the time

England have the west indies and new zealand series to get through first

i doubt our collective reasonings would pick more than 7 of the first test side correctly as of now. bowlers are going to break down with the schedule, there is no settled opener for alongside cook etc etc. lose in the WI and we may have a new captain etc

Long term 'lurker' on the thread, first post. I think England will win comfortably in the WI. Let's not forget our Test performances last year were much improved, with good 'debut' Summer's for Ali, Butler and most notably Ballance. Root was oustanding at 5 and surely Cook is due? Broad and Anderson will still take wickets and Woakes seems to have found the missing yard of pace required. I like the prospect of Lyth at the top of the order and have long been a fan of Rashid and believe he deserves an opportunity if Moeen is unfit. What really interests me is how Jonathan Trott can respond to the international lifeline been thrown to him.

Will he open?

Surely he can't replace Ballance at 3?

Will he be mentally able to cope with the rigours of a tour?

Will be looking at the markets nearer the time but like the idea of a Ballance top run-scorer/England to win series double I think.

The PokerStars Sportsbook launches today

should that be an avenue we should investigate for placing bets?

Have only really dipped my toe in the water of sports betting relatively recently compared to most on here. I am benefiting hugely from the experience and advice of many of the tipsters on here and have made a few quid on the back of some of their suggestions. I am betting mostly football, darts and cricket at the moment although will admit to investing a few quid on Peter's F1 advice last weekend and some of Hector's tennis bets. I really enjoy the mix of banter and gaming theory on the thread - long may it continue!

Certainly worth having a look at what they plan to offer.

Are they piggy-backing off an established site, or starting afresh, anyone know?

We'd start with a clean sheet, thats for sure, but I'm curious how a global brand will coipe with "local" markets, i.e., GB & ROI. Hard to see how they will have the expertise to price up say, a Peterborogh match

Isn't Redarmi working for them? If so I doubt pricing up a Peterborough match will be an issue Smiley

Not PokerStars that I was aware of, no. Close, but not quite.

In my years playing on Stars I reckon I have paid about $1,000,000 in rake. (I've got nearly 3 million lifetime VPPs)

Wonder if I get restricted as quickly as I did with Betfair SportsBook?

Wpwp Tal, made me roffle.

I have a dream, that they'll price up every race overnight and never restricto. In reality, though, expecting some sort of cross between 888 and Coral, who only price up footy and one or two other bits'n'bobs.

in Jan they announced it was to be launched before the end of Q1, which finishes today

a wag on twitter posts this morning linking the date with the previous announcement.

anyway, interested to see what markets they put up/when

Suarez navarro not being the fav v Radwanska is puzzling.

I have 4 for a Lucky 15

Janowicz 6/4
Suarez navarro 13/10
Petkovic  9/5
Venus Williams 4/5 (Nap) All 4 lose I will never post again which would bring great delight to many.

It this is no good single on Suarez navarro 13/10,courts look perfect and Radwanska couldn't hit her way out of a paper bag.

Good stuff, thank you. Two to go.

No hard luck story in scooping the lot,Goffin can be hot and cold, red hot today, 3/4 will have to do. The 3 that came off won fairly well. Some strange pricing with the two highlighted.  Always tomorrow.

Good effort indeed.  Tipping underdog tennis winners is hard work!  Nearly a big scoop.

Two of them were silly prices in the first place.  Have another go today.

How much did we lump on Shutthefkup at 8-1 for the National? Never gonna see that price again.

For those that can Barnsley are over-priced with Scuy to make the play-offs at 11-2. Don't know how they managed that price - they don't even tally with their 'to win the play-offs' prices.

Even weirder they bet 7-2 Barnsley to finish in the top six, which is effectively the same market given they're a million to finish in the top two.
