I know it's a long way away but what do Tighty and people think on the US Presidential election?
I was surprised to see Clinton fave over Jeb Bush. Surely Jeb wins if they go head to head? She's too marmite, isn't she? And he's a Bush. And a smart one. Even the idiot brother won twice.

Also if we can get any vox pop on the ground from our American correspondents, that'd be good!

can the republicans beat the democrats in '16? i doubt it

i quite like marco rubio to get very close to the nomination anyway. he is the name the democrats fear the most. of course being a bush (with a fairly patchy track record) is a good and a bad thing. wall street will fund the campaign though so he probably wins it

at this stage with hillary basically an unchallenged democrat nominee and going to have $1.5bn to $2bn in funding (Obama had $1.1m in 2012) i'm struggling to see how the markets are too far out of line

Patrick Reed looks like a bit of value @50/1+

what is the thinking on that please?

Hits it long and has as good a short game as anyone, great bunker-player too.

Karl Brown going well again for Lancashire; currently 68*. We'd have had a decent shot if he'd been playing from the start of the campaign.

I fear the prolific Prince has too much of a head start.

For those that can Sky have a free chance in the first race tomorrow. If your horse loses you get you money back. Think its max £25. All helps.

Pakistan travel to Sri Lanka for a 3 match test series starting early doors on wednesday morning. The draw is odds on so looks like a typical Galle wicket, flat in the main but will take spin. Was originally looked for series betting on Herath to be top wicket taker but it's not priced up. He is 5/2 to be top wicket taker in the first innings, which looks pretty good considering the rest of their bowling attack is very weak (2nd in the betting is an offspinning allrounder who's played 7 tests). In the first innings of his last 3 tests in the subcontinent he's taken 9 wickets, 4 wickets and 3 wickets and he'll get through a lot of overs so looks to have a very good chance. As short as 7/4 elsewhere, that was the kind of price I'd expected.

Whilst checking for that I saw Azhar Ali was 9/2 to be top Pakistan batsman, which seems too big. The Pakistani batting has been in good form collectively, so that will be the reason they are 4/1 the field here, but Ali has been in tremendous form with 3 tons and 3 50's from his last 9 knocks in tests. His form v Sri Lanka is very good, with 4 hundreds in 9 matches against them in his career. He's moved him game up a level lately, being more aggressive and scoring runs at a good pace in his recent ODI games (albeit against poor opposition) and will be looking to take over from the old heads of Misbah and Younis as Pakistan's number 1 batsman. The 7/2 that a fair few firms have him at was what I'd expected.

rec £30 on Rangana Herath, top Sri Lanka bowler, at 5/2 with baldy
rec £20 on Azhar Ali, top Pakistan batsman, at 9/2 with pp

There are a few good each way races tomorrow at Ascot.

The 2.30 is a hot race, but I am a fan of Toormore.  8/1 quarter odds with 3 places looks very good to me.  Available in a few spots including Hills, Victor and b365.  Suggest £20 e/w. Hills mobile is best as we get the free bet if 2nd too.

I think we should also have an interest in Cougar Mountain at 40/1 e/w.  Listen the horse is better than his form suggests and e have always thought he was a miler.  Basically why are they running him here and putting the best jockey up if they thought he was a 40/1 no hoper.  This together with the good e/w terms means we can live with a fiver each way at that price with hills and lads.

In the 3.40 hills and corals are going quarter first 4.  You could tip up a fair few in this race on those terms including the favourite.  Suggest 20 e/w muhtmir with hills mobile at 11/2, so you get the good e/w terms and free bet if 2nd too.

Can't get anything on from the U.S., so good luck.

Yep. £25 max and you get money back as a free bet.

The race I have least conviction over tbh mate. I have done Night of Thunder ew, but purely because I thought it was an ew bet to nothing.
