Little extract of what I posted on my facebook page after practice one:

"A bit of a manic first practice session in London.

Everybody expected the extreme camber on the track to be the problem, but in actual fact it was the bumps at turn one and eight that were the big issue. They're so big in fact that cars are getting airborne every lap.

This raises many issues; suspension failures (Jérôme D'Ambrosio already had one) and potential issues on the opening lap with cars launching into each other while side-by-side in the air.

The other issue is that the plank underneath the car is getting worn down considerably for all teams. I think it is possible that a number of drivers could be disqualified after the race for the plank being worn down too much."

RECOMMENDED BET

Been up all night here, researching the Wimbledon Ladies Tennis, & I've found a bit of cracking value.

Laura Robson, who does not have a baby, is going to lose - she is - in the first round to Rodina, who has a baby. Laura has been injured, is not sufficiently recovered in my opinion.

I was in like a shot & have snaffled £20 @ 2.15 for Rodina to win 2-0, unless the baby keeps her up all night.

Fred can have the £20 if they wish, or ignore my wise words at their peril.

confirmed

thank you for the recommendation

looking forward to more over the wimbledon fortnight

your expertise is much appreciated

The London ePrix is on this weekend, the conclusion of the first ever season.

As it's the finale, there are more bookies pricing up this weekend and there is massive value at Sky Gamble and Stan Shames right now. Jean Eric Verne to win the London ePrix @ 15/2! He's one of the fastest in the championship, this is far too high. Suggest £15.

Interestingly it doesn't say if the bet is for race one or two, I'm assuming race one.

Ded race 1 with Stan.

Loss of £50 yesterday

-£30 Bellew on points

"After entering the final stanza, it appeared as though Bellew would have to settle for a points win, but early in the 10th, he landed with a thunderous uppercut that forced the referee to step in to bring an end to the bout."

close, but no cigar then

-£20 Hull lost 24-6 to Leeds in the challenge cup

in a rush, fuller version tomorrow

Last time before they run the plate on the beach, had bets AP on clever cookie and oasis fantasy. Dont know if oasis fantasy is a rogue but 2m end to end gallop on good ground if he stays, and he should imagine he will after epsom he should at least pick up a place. Stats are heavily in favour of NH horses in plate history but think that is skewed by the fact its usually bottomless at newcastle, even with average amounts of rainfall/ ground being gts officially. If clever cookie handles the ground he could give these another 10lb and still thrash them and his weight is no problem as thats the min he would ever carry in a hurdle anyway.

Anybody dabbling today? 5 places is looking decent value

I'm glad you asked, I thought I was going to be the only one!

Practice two is supposed to be going on now, but the drivers are all down at turn one with the FIA examining the bumps - possible track modification going to happen.

Definitely the 1st race with Stan.

Def is short for definitely, use it often as auto usually changes it to defiantly. Not a lot of people notice this as I see it often.

Practice two just finished, another extract from my report:

"The session was delayed and reduced in length to 25 minutes as turn one was changed. It has been narrowed by installing a new barrier in order to avoid the massive bump that was launching cars into the air. Sadly, this means that no overtaking will be allowed in turn one, and the race will start under safety car.

The field spread here is huge, there is 4.4 seconds between first and last. In a same make formula, that's massive."

Vergne topped it by 0.325 seconds from Piquet in second.

there are street circuits and street circuits. what is the point of this if you cannot possibly overtake anywhere?

vergne is just interviewed "it is simply impossible to overtake anywhere, absolutely impossible"

he is qualifed P2 so far and is gloomy!

the most ludicrous course track you will ever see!

Paul Wesselingh has been a prolific winner since joining the European Seniors Tour three years ago with eight victories, and on -3 he's only two shots behind the leaders at the half-way point of the US Seniors Open.

I think he looks like a very decent EW bet @ the 66/1 generally available.

Recommending £5 EW Paul Wesselingh @66/1.

I think Vergne was exaggerating due to frustration. We'll see some passing, although it will be extremely difficult.

This is a great track though, I think the drivers and fans are both enjoying it. Certainly not the most ludicrous, there have been much worse.

In the old A1GP series, the 2006 Beijing race was the craziest street track I can remember.

There was a tight hairpin at the end of the back straight - and when cars got out on track, it turned out they needed to do three-point turns to get round the corner! The officials of course modified the track, but it was still too tight and the rest of the weekend saw SO many red flags as a result.

In qualifying, manhole covers started to come up onto the track due to the downforce of the cars, and advertising boards were coming loose and falling onto the track. They had to cancel the session and determine the grid based on practice. Both races started behind safety car, and pretty much entirely ran behind it too ..

Piquet qualified 4th, Vergne 5th.

Provisional though, I'm expecting a number of penalties here for exceeding maximum power usage. Let's see.

A Cambridgeshire man walked in to a William Hill shop this morning with a bundle of cash, trying to bet £1,000 on July being the hottest month of the year at odds of 11-10.

After several minutes, staff at the St Neots branch told him this was a 'limited market' and that he'd only be allowed to bet £50.

It wasn't all bad news for the bookmaking giants, however, with a daily profit ensured by all four FOBT's being occupied by braindead chavs, and the weather tip-off allowing them to cut the price of July to 4-5 without any meaningful liability.

A William Hill spokesman said: "Our loltraders got the price wrong and rejecting bets is something we do all the time in these circumstances. Punters need to get used to it and stfu."
