I can do the spreads stuff. Need clear instructions and stakes though as bullet points.
Thanks Dung, & on that basis - that you use your judgement to assess the stakes (as to Fred's regular level of risk), & agree, I confirm Fred will be liable for any losses.

I am reluctant to do the spreads please
we (i) am not geared up to do reasonable volumes of spreads from an admin context
apart from the odd season long bet, lets stick to fixed odds

Happy for me to have a running balance with Fred across everything for a single cash settlement either way at end of football season Tighty which I can keep on a spreadsheet and report weekly as long as we keep balance below £1,000. Let me know. Happy either way of course.

I would be happy with that, but Tighty has the final say, as he has to do the Admin. There ought to be a way to sort it, but I do know that Tighty & Mere like to keep the records just so.
The running balance would be based upon the current (prevailing) quote, presumably?

I was thinking just keep a running total of settled bets and if the total gets to 1k either way we make a transfer. If not then do a transfer in May when our 3 long term football bets settle.
Anyhow think race starts in an hour so will check back in 20 mins to see it'll anything needs doing. If we do the bets would recommend just £1 on all four recommends. That would be about £200 loss if there was a hugely unlikely doomsday scenario.

Thank you.
I think Tighty/Mere just need a liability to appear on the spready.

I can post a statement every few days of cash balance plus close out value of any open positions.

ok thats useful thank you.
The issue we have is getting an accurate liability figure on the spreadsheet when we place the bet, for example on preston/leeds
at the moment we are often estimating
mere hasn't been around so i haven't had the conversation yet to resolve this one
as a secondary issue, and not wishing to be impolite, but peter isn't very experienced at spreads and there is no guarantee that when he suggests bets an experienced head will be around to guide where necessary
hence my wish to leave it for now

Which reminds me, I need to drop Mere a line - he's not logged on since 1st September. I worry about folks like him & Karabiner, who are very old.

No problem. I will try to post a close out value for the football stuff every Tuesday. That's the cost if you want to abandon all bets at any time and best way to monitor liability imo

Alternatively just record liability as the most Fred is willing to lose and add a couple of points to cover close out.

Agreed! While I know my sport inside out, when it comes to betting, I still feel like a student compared to you guys - and need that guidance.
I guess it makes sense because I'm probably the youngest (and therefore least experienced) in the TFT community? 23, if you were wondering.

Rosberg is having trouble getting his car started, it has malfunctioned twice already on the way to the grid.
Must be one of the scariest things ever to be sat near the front of the grid with a car that might not start. Those cars accelerate like lightning, some will be doing 100mph+ by the time they reach his car.
Fingers crossed he gets away safely. Scary stuff.
