You'd think they'd mark him after he scored a four minute hattrick, wouldn't you?

Japanese GP this weekend

- last year Merc qualified 1,2

- last year, in difficult weather that is once again forecast for this weekend, Merc 1 and 2 won the race by 30 seconds

- On non-street circuits where the power advantage of the Merc relative to the field is not compromised, we should see a reversion this weekend to a more usual qualification and race pattern?

eg merc ahead of ferrari, williams once again ahead of redbull

- Why then can we back Hamilton at 10/11 for this race?

http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/formula-one/japanese-grand-prix/winner

three weeks ago he was 1/2 for Monza before the race weekend opened and whilst suzuka isn't as power hungry as monza is, its more "normalised" conditions than a street circuit with high barriers at night when mercedes couldn't sort out their tyres and aero.

there was nothing in the hamilton retirement that was engine related in the broken clamp, so he goes to suzuka with the upgraded package and an engine a race and a half old.

isnt 10/11 (negative) recency bias gone mad?

Yep, I knew this would happen and was going to suggest the same when I post my suggestions tomorrow. However, I need a day to read through the circuit information before being sure, just to ensure there have been no changes which could change things e.g. track layout, surface composition etc. etc.

I don't see much point in waiting.  The price is only available at Ladbrokes.

Proper header from Gestede. Reminds me of a young Robert Lewandowski.

Jenna just been flung out of the Big Bruv house. Can settle that one as a loser.

Likely the top USA contestant will be decided within the new half hour.

Still happy enough tbh, don't see the top four from last week being any different in the final.

We have £25EW James Hill, 7-2, quarter three places

and

£50EW Steve/Chloe 8-1, quarter three places

going into finals night.

James is now around 1-2. Stevi/Chloe have drifted to 16-1 but decent chance we'll get them in the three and I still wouldn't give up on the win part.

We're in fair shape.

Some of the stories you might have missed...

America's team struck a deal overnight with what almost became Canada's team, as the Dallas Cowboys brought in quarterback Matt Cassel from the Buffalo Bills, because their main guy Tony Romo is out for a while. I was reminded of a comment made elsewhere

"Matt Cassel really is the American Dream story though. He's turned 33 total college attempts into $70mil in career NFL earnings... "

In fairness, Tighty did also describe him as "better than Hoyer".

New York Yankees catcher, manager and Hall of Fame member, Yogi Berra, passed away overnight, aged 90.

Edinson Cavani. Remember how much everyone wanted him?

The Champion of Champions match in Bermuda's cricket league took a surprising turn:

The chap videoing it clearly overcome with emotion at the spectacle unfolding before him. "That all seems a bit unnecessary"

The Gabriel fella who booted the batsman gets a life ban. The batsman, Costa, a six game ban. Names changed for comic effect.

Ahead of South Africa v Samoa, the Samoans met Joost van der Vesthuisen, former golden boy of Springbok rugby. He was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2011. The Samoans sang a hymn to him

They posted on Facebook afterwards:

“Totally humbling experience to meet Springboks legend Joost Van Der Westhuizen in Brighton today. This man does not let Motor Neuron Disease define him or stop him living life to the fullest. This hymn seemed right for the occasion”. The hymn was Thank You, God Our Creator.

Spreadex are back up with their divisional indicies.  Interestingly they make Skins 3rd favs which is at odds with the fixed odds guys.

Buy and sell prices below.  Pays 50 for 1st, 25 for 2nd and 10 for 3rd.

Cowboys 27.5-30.5
Eagles 26.5-29.5
Skins 14-17
Giants 11-14

Any thoughts Tighty?
