Watching this Formula E for the first time. Three driver images popped up at the bottom talking of how they are the winners of "fan boost" - Genuinely thought for a moment that it meant Twitter fans weighed in live and voted for those guys to get more power in their cars

I honestly have no idea what that was all about.

I do know that most of the on screen graphics are perfectly ridiculous - either too "busy" or only suitable for 7 to 10 year olds. Never seen worse graphics. ITV suck at sport.

Got a chunk of money on the Renaults thanks to Peters recommendation. Think it was a great bet. Now watching the race online with a morning cup of tea. That's why I like this thread. Thanks guys, thanks Peter.

Agree. I really enjoy Tighty's NFL stuff.  Adds huge value to me as a punter who knows little about the sport and adds to my enjoyment of the games.

Very much this for me

Great spot by Peter too, thanks for posting!

Morning tighty.

Cant spare much time. I mentioned before about going for few points in the sa v nz semi today. Rain is coming and I think the best value is under 32.5 points with ladbrokes.

Suggest £15 under 32.5 points  at 5 to 2 with ladbrokes.

Thanks for the kind words all. I won £1000 on that bet, which is the most I've ever had from a single bet. Until the Force India season points bet is settled anyway Tongue

Is it bad that I was routing for Heidfeld when he was in second place? I guess I care about Mahindra too much

Not sure if the fan boost comment above was sarcasm, but it is fans giving a boost to their favourite drivers. Read more here: http://fanboost.fiaformulae.com/Frequently_Asked_Questions.pdf

This might seem a little odd to some, but part of Formula E's remit is to be a test arena for new and unusual ideas. It's all-electric racing, a brand new concept, which makes it the perfect arena to introduce other new concepts too. Some will work, some won't, but they all have the right to be at least tested. The current regulations, including fan boost, will be analysed at the end of season three.

As for the on screen graphics, they are from the FIA World TV feed and not ITV. The FIA are aware they need to be improved, but they're tied into a contract until the end of this season. I personally don't think a radical overhaul is necessary, but some improvements do need to be made - quite often there is way too much information on screen, particularly when we're on board with a driver.

Yes, fair comment that the feed is not from ITV, but they should never have agreed the deal with those graphics, they are way too complex or childish, (some are both), & as for the Studio Presentation, Gardeners Question Time do it better than that. So bland.

Just one question:

Tighty do you make money betting on NFL? (honestly)

Bad day, kush?

You should stop reading the daily fail before you hit Blonde Cheesy

It's a totally genuine question. I think he has huge knowledge of the sport but is bad at betting on it.

Yes I do ok thanks. It's taken me three and three quarter years of posting daily on this thread to be called out publically for being crap, so I haven't done too bad.

** climbs onto soapbox **

I've got the hide of a rhinoceros after some of the crap that has been sent in my direction on here over 10 years but am now not too likely to put NFL thoughts on here having been embarrassed. You'll no doubt be able to celebrate this at a street party but the wider point is that we don't call people out on here, please. People being called out for making bad bets etc has seen several people leave the thread from time to time.

The good thing is that the thread should be self-filtering. Everyone will have people they rate and people they don't rate and everyone can choose who they follow. The thread is a shadow of its former self unfortunately and a few hotspots of frequent ideas apart (Peter on motorsport and the nfl ideas most notably) we don't have a broad a range of ideas and a lot of great posters don't put ideas up for various reasons, unfortunately

As I seem to have a character flaw for pushing water uphill I spend some time most days asking questions, seeking opinions and putting ideas up, however half-formed. There will be duds in those opinions and ideas. I have about 20 ideas a day i could post, its inevitable there will be stuff that is plain wrong.

In this instance in midweek i asked for opinions about the 49ers +7 (i've previously had a bet accepted for them to finish 4th in their division this year) and Jets +9. The Jets +9 had support and the bet was placed. The reaction to the 49ers +7 was more mixed including your late comment and so, the process working, the bet didn't get placed. Thats all that needs to happen. I don't need to be dug out about it 24 hours later, thanks

Back when i was doing the daily reports, whuich i stopped because of minimal interaction, we never called out people for bets that lost. sometimes they are bad bets, sometimes good spots that didn't win. Everyone knows when there is a loser but the aim has always been to limit constructive adverse comments to before the bet is placed and not afterwards and not make people feel uncomfortable and reluctant to post ideas. Thats what has happened here.....

in the meantime, show me how its done, and put some regular recommendations up. Whether from you or anyone else thats the lifeblood of the thread, which is currently hooked up to a transfusion mechanism.

** climbs off soapbox, goes off to start more desperate threads **

As others have said, keep posting all your NFL stuff.

Between stopping the freefall, and bad betting, obv Wink

Yep, keep it up both of you.  I have nothing useful to add to most NFL threads, but still appreciate them all.  It is also one of our better sports, so it doesn't even make sense that Tighty could be bad it it.  Peter is clearly the best at formula E, unfortunately none of the bookies I can use offer prices on it.

Agree with both points, but the series is still developing/learning so they can be cut some slack at this stage Smiley
