The Mexican GP poses an interesting challenge this weekend. It's a returning circuit (last held 1992) that has been altered for modern day F1. The track is a hybrid between Interlagos, Brazil (high altitude) and Monza, Italy (massive top speeds). With that in mind, this could/should be a MEGA circuit for Force India which bodes well for our season points bet Smiley

Here are my pre-practice bet suggestions:

Not To Finish The Race - Jenson Button (7/4) & Fernando Alonso (9/4) tote and batfrad. Power circuit; Honda engines; disaster? Suggest £20 on each.

Just out of interest for a casual observer, is the price difference between these to due to skill or car related matters?

To be honest, I have no idea.

Both drivers drive for the same team and have the same (terribly unreliable) car. In addition, both drivers are vastly experienced previous World Champions who are both considered a "safe pair of hands". They've both started 15 races this season, Fernando has seven retirements, Jenson has five. Fernando's price being higher makes no sense at all really.

Thanks Peter.

The sad decline of all things Paul Gascoigne continues. Can't help but think this will end really badly.

On reports that Big Ben is definitely back laddies go Steelers 5/6 Bengals evens on the moneyline.Last Thursday BB admitted to having a setback and yesterday he shared reps with Landry Jones.Could be worth the evens on the Bengals before tomorrow's full practice and probable decision.

Ben Roethlisberger says he’s had “no issues” with his knee, which points to his returning this week

Here are my pre-practice bet suggestions:

Podium Finish - Sergio Perez @ 14/1 with SkaiBet & Brokes. As stated above, Force India should go well here. Sergio is on good form too, plus he'll get a lift with it being his home race. Suggest £10.

Fastest Lap - Sergio Perez & Nico Hulkenberg, both at 40/1 with SkaiBet, Lads, Choral & Hills. Similar to above. Suggest £5 on each.

Points Finish - Max Verstappen @ EVS with 365 and betunfair. Max at EVS is pretty much becoming an insta-bet given the boy's raw speed. Suggest £20.

Points Finish - Pastor Maldonado @ 2/1 with SkaiBet. This price for a Mercedes-engined car at a super high speed circuit? Yes please! Suggest £10. I wouldn't take lower than 2/1 though.

Not To Finish The Race - Jenson Button (7/4) & Fernando Alonso (9/4) tote and batfrad. Power circuit; Honda engines; disaster? Suggest £20 on each.

with the combination of high altitude and heavy braking zones, leading to possibility of turbo and brake failures

and mixed weather forecast on a very green/new track, and tight barriers in the stadium sector

As at austin (line was 15.5 finishers, 12 finished) should we be going under 15.5 for mexico?

5/6 looks like value to me here! However, I personally won't be doing that bet. I tend not to like under evens bets unless it's tremendous value. Risk vs reward just isn't good enough for me.

Be careful with the way you word these descriptions. In F1, it is possible to not finish the race and still be classified. This bet is for classified runners. Still a decent price though.

Another win for Roma tonight, that's 5 on the bounce now and still sees them top by 2 points. All their rivals (Inter, Napoli, Fiorentina) won, but Lazio did get beat to leave them off the pace a little bit.

Juventus beaten again, that's now 4 defeats from 10, but they have only let in 9 goals for the 3rd best defensive record in the league. Trail Roma by 11 points already. I thought they'd struggle to replicate running away with the league like last season after losing 3 key players in the summer, but I wasn't anticipating a Chelsea esque collapse. I also wasn't anticipating Gervinho to be a goal machine for Roma Wink

Hi Plumpo,

Thanks for the update. This is going pretty well, it seems. Let's hope it remains so.

If you follow Italian football, as you do (ditto maldini32), did you see the report about the 16 year old goalkeeper who made his debut this week for AC Milan? 16, strewth.

Gianluigi Rommadunna, proper Italian name that.

Just 16, so he's not even shaving yet, won't have kissed a girl or even had his first grope, & he's playing for A C Milan. Unbelievable Jeff.

6/1 now......fred can have a tenner of 8/1 if wanted.

Morning Nick.

I only just saw this, don't know what the bet was, or if it won or lost, but let me know if Fred owes you any money please, tomorrow (1st of the month) is when I like to settle all liabilities.

Even worse now it seems

However Thursday now clearer which gives 3 days to dry on a clay based track

At best will be good to soft methinks hopefully a bit more comes

How was the first day of Keeneland, horsey? I never saw any results, but I noted it had begun.

Not sure how this will be received, but here goes.

Blackpool have been showing signs of life in recent weeks and are unbeaten in their last 6. Today they are away at Bury, who have 1 win in 6.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-1/bury-v-blackpool/winner

Suggest a tentative £10.
