Ozil now just behind Mangala in the Assists Table.

Roll Eyes

I just discovered that Mangala cost £42M, similar price-tag to Ozil.

Incredible, isn't it? He must be close to the worst buy in the premiership. Makes Soldado look value.

There's always the old Fernando Torres fiasco to remember.

Thought Mangala looked good when he played alongside Kompany earlier in the season. How wrong could I be...

In the Big Bash this morning the Adelaide Strikers (ante-post joint 2nd favs to come bottom) beat defending champions and fancied side Perth Scorchers to start the season 2-0. This is another good result for our bet on Brisbane Heat to come bottom. Market is down at the moment but they were 13/8 to come bottom last night, will probably be a little bit shorter now after Adelaide's win. We're on at 9/2, so far so good. They travel to Hobart for the game tomorrow morning against the Hurricanes(8.10am start our time), Hurricanes were garbage last time out but are still 3/4 favs fior the match. Hopefully the home side can get the job done and we'll be in a good spot.

Good stuff Nelly, it's all going rather well so far from the looks of it.

Will watch it in the morning.

Thanks for the regular updates, it really helps.

No worries, hopefully we can get it over the line for a winner!

REMINDER

For those on Nelly's Big Bash Sweat (we want Brisbane Heat to lose) their next game is Live on Sky Sports at 8am this morning.

Surprised Hobart decided to bat first, we're going to need a big score ...

86/1 after 10 overs. We like that, yes?

184 is good. Runs on the board. Think they left a few out there though. Pitch looks good and Heat batting is their strong suit. Hurricanes 4/11 in-running so can't be unhappy with that i guess!

26/0 after TWO overs.

Crikey.

under the cosh. Cameron Boyce's 4 overs will be key

81/4 off 11.

Better.

Much more like it. Hobart's bowling has been poor though, not over yet :-(

soton faves away to west ham on 28th
seems strange to me
anyone else?

Southampton are not quite in the slump that results suggest. Should have put 3 or 4 past Villa, should have had a point against Palace and played well in spells against Spurs.

I think part of the issue is motivation - too much quality to go down but feel like we aren't going to be competing in the top 8 this season. Saying that, if we lose to Arsenal at the weekend then the West Ham game will have some pressure on it.

We are not scoring goals or creating enough chances at the moment. At first glance, West Ham look like a bet but wouldn't be going wild.

jeeeeez, that was a sweat. Hobart win by 20, but it was a lot closer than that for a long while. 2 poor sides, but Heat are now 0-2 so it's going well so far.

tomorrow is Renegades v Sixers, unlikely either of those will be in the running for the wooden spoon. Boxing day the Heat go to Scorchers, who won outright the last 2 years. Scorchers will be missing some guys to international call-up's, but you'd think they will have enough to get the job done. If they can and the Heat go to 0-3, we're in a good spot.

A belated recap from Italy this weekend.

Roma won (yay) despite Dzeko getting his first red of his career for telling the ref to ''fuck off'', Juventus won again (boo), Napoli won (boo), Fiorentina won (boo), but cross city rivals Lazio did us a favour by winning at Inter Milan (yay). The winter break kicks in now, and this is how the table is looking at close to the half way point.

1 Inter Milan  17 11 3 3 23 11 12 36

2 Fiorentina  17 11 2 4 33 15 18 35

3 Napoli  17 10 5 2 31 13 18 35

4 Juventus  17 10 3 4 28 14 14 33

5 Roma  17 9 5 3 32 18 14 32

6 AC Milan  17 8 4 5 24 21 3 28

That was a big result seeing Inter beaten, keeps things nice and congested. January transfer window could be interesting, not least because there are rumours circulating that Rudi Garcia is on the verge of being sacked at Roma, and Mourinho turned down an approach to take over. Will they give £££ to a manager on the brink? Will Chelsea recall Salah? Will Gervinho re-discover his scoring touch?! So many questions....

Leicester were 5/2 to win at Everton last weekend, did so, and are 16/5 to win at Anfield a week later.

i'll stay out of the discussion through bias, but with the possible exception of trips to the etihad and emirates i don't think we are 3/1+ to win any league game at the moment

Suppose it depends whether you thought the price was wrong against Everton.  If you thought that price was wrong then this price is probably more wrong.  I still can't have Klopp on my mind as the lolapool manager like the saviour he has been raved about.  Since he has turned up Scousers have been beaten at short prices numerous times (as per usual for the last 10 years) and i really don't see that much improvement he has made over Brenda tbh.  The bottom line is the scousers squad is still loaded with garbage players from top to bottom relative to their match prices week after week.  I said this at the start of the season and nothing has changed to make me think the same.  How many liverpool players would get into the Everton starting eleven?  Not many.    Would Everton swap their best 11 for liverpool's best 11 as a job lot swop?  I don't think they would.

Ha, very good.

Must be more to the story than meets the eye though, surely?

I'm sure many saw it on TV but Liverpool were woeful at Watford on Saturday.  A lack of fight and chaotic defending.  They hated facing pace and power and Leicester have plenty of that.
