Garde does have premier league experience and worked under the GOAT/Clown (delete as appropriate) at the Woolwich. He's made them more solid at the back and hasn't been helped by injuries and suspensions (Ayew and Westwood both out today). Agbonlahor is no loss at all. Villa fans have been waiting for him to go for years.

The issue, as you infer, is the lack of actual talent on the pitch. They simply HAVE to buy to stay up.

Fingers crossed that the chairman has had a few lessons from Oyston.

And the owner doesn't want to spend a penny on the club and wants to gtfo and sell up asap and get back to the USA.  Who are you going to be able to buy who will change the situation when you are 1/20 to go down?  Who is going to sign an epl contract with you of any talent?

Can the outright prices for a Premier League match ever be 'wrong' on the day of a game?

There's thousands lined up either side to back and lay at current prices, so aren't these prices essentially always correct?

Obv it's fine to disagree with them, but for punterers to ever say the prices are wrong is...wrong.

If the prices are always right then anyone who bets on football on the off should always just lose the commission to betfair over the long term?  How do numerous people keep beating the prices and making a living if the prices are always right?

Just because there is £100k at 2.0 and £100k the other side at 2.02 doesn't mean the price is 'right'.  Supply and demand are big factors in those two lumps being there.  IMO of course.

Were all the prices right last weekend for every team that had additional rest because they had postponed games on boxing day or did 99% of punters around the world just not factor that in and kept smashing away at teams without even thinking about it?

Fringe Euro 16 squad players? Turn up, play 20 games, score 14 goals, keep the team up in the most broadcast league in the world and give yourself a chance.

What is Danny Ings doing these days? Remember when he used to play? Adebayor on loan from TopShop or wherever he's working these days?

That's why Ayew went there I expect. If they go down (and they very likely will), there will be a clause negotiated for the release.

Why would anyone go to villa? Did the Barcelona B team and Shakiri go to Stoke because they always wanted to live in Hanley?

No they went there because they knew they would be playing for an upper mid table side for the length of their contract with ambitions to kick on (obviously earning big money at the same time).  Signing for villa in january means you will be out of the club 4 months later or playing in the championship.  No one who plays for Vale lives in Hanley (or anywhere else within 6 miles of Stoke) never mind Stoke players so that argument is just silly nowadays.

I havn't seen that much of Villa this season but I have seen every minute of us and I know how utterly dreadfull we've been.

When people say we have goalscorers they really mean we have Jermaine Defoe who's previous 12 years in the Premiership are clouding peoples judgments. He's really not the same player he was. He's had 3 or 4 clear 1 on 1's this season which he either scuffed the shot or not even got a shot away. His first touch is pretty awful now and he just generally doesnt look like a threat. Coupled with a midfield who can't create anything he's really gonna struggle to score goals.

We also have no centre halfs fit. Which is a shade worse than having all of our centre half's fit.

Our record against Villa is shocking and our record in general against the bottom few teams in the last 4 years is the reason why we are always in a relegation fight. I can't remember us beating a team in the relegation zone. We seem to only beat the mid table teams like Stoke, Everton and Southampton.

Just the 100 pages to catch up on. No bad.

Anyway, Dundee derby today in the half 12 kick off. bet365 have left Stewart in the goalscorer market which is skewing others plus they've just made some players way too short. Hemmings has 5 in last 2 games and is somehow 15/2, 9/2 the correct price I think.

12/5 anytime.
16/1 2 or more.
100/1 hat trick.

Just a heads up for anyone wanting a clear wrong price.

Nice spot Scotty - Hemmings has scored the game's second goal, here's hoping for a brace+

How many times have you played Villa when they have 8 points into the New year.  Historical stats are so irrelevent it is tilting when people mention them.  Come on we are better than that.

I will back 180 at 1.01 if you are offering.  Happy to lay any other score at 1000/1!
