England top batsman tomorrow morning, Rooty a standout 7/2 with badbrokes. Normally 11/4 or 3/1, seems strange they'd push him out when :

a) Cook is in bad from, Compton has been ill and Hales faces a late fitness test, so his competition has some doubts about them, and:

b) he's been in decent nick himself. 28, 39 and 117 in the warm-up games, 24, 73, 50 and 29 in the tests. Got "in" in all 4 innings, which is the hard part. Just needs to push on once he's got himself settled.

20 to win 90 seems more than fair

Is this due to it being a low scoring game (expected) and therefore more random?

It's meant to be a result wicket but not so much that it's a complete lottery? Unless it's like Edgbaston 1995  Grin Tougher conditions should theoretically mean those with the best technique have the best chance to survive/prosper? That would be my opinion of it, happy to debate it though

Paddy just opened 3 which won't last

The horse is not really a great each way one imo. Will either prove to be good enough for this test or not.

What I mean by that it is potential rather than lots of solid form.
