Point of order, if I may just check...

We are on Smith for top Australasian? I did say Australian.

Be pretty galling if we get Matsuyama-ed!

Here's that gruesome 7 putts by Ernie Els, on his way to a 10 at the first. I gather he broke all sorts of records in carding a 10 at the first hole in the Masters.

He must be livid with himself.

I like Poults in the GB+I market.

Back to something like his best after a 3rd place finish LTO in Puerto Rico and with some question marks about the form of those at the top of the market 20/1 looks very fair value to me. Decent C+D form too.

Recommend £10 EW Ian Poulter @20/1 to be top GB+I.

I could only find 1/5th odds 1-2-3 but obviously 1/4 would be better.

        Type: Single
Top GB and Ireland Who Will Shoot the Lowest Score Over 72 Holes?
                Ian Poulter 20/1
                Each Way: 1/5 1 - 3
Possible Payout (inc. stake) 260.00 GBP
    2 bets @
    10.00 GBP

    Total Cost: 20.00 GBP
Total Possible Payout (inc. stake): 260.00 GBP

yup that too

One for discussion perhaps:

Jordan Henderson looks to have picked up a knee injury tonight that may well rule him out of the Euros. The prices don't seem to have adjusted yet as he's still 1.17 to make the squad: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/euro-2016/england-euro-2016-specials/to-make-the-squad

So the question is whose claims for a squad place does it strengthen the most?

Fabian Delph (3.00)
Danny Drinkwater (2.38)
Michael Carrick (6.00)
Jack Wilshere (2.4)

One of that quartet seem the most likely to me, but which one and there any value to be had? I think one of the top two seems the most like-for-like Hendo replacement. Roy seems a big fan of Delph and the fact he's left footed is a factor too.

How many of these would we expect to go?

3 keepers

7 or 8 defenders

4 or 5 strikers

leaves 9 or 10 midfielders, of whom Attacking midfielders like Alli and Barkley, Lallana etc will form a large component

Dier + how many for holding midfield role? 3?

Keepers (3), Defenders (7), Strikers (5) leaving eight midfield spots:

On the plane you have (fitness permitting): Alli, Dier, Milner, Barkley, Sterling & Lallana.

That leaves two spots. With Welbeck/Vardy/Sturridge all able to play wide as well as central I think at least one of those spots, possibly both, will go to a protector type who plays in the double pivot rather than an out and out wide man like Walcott. I forgot about Oxlade-Chamberlin, but I'd expect two of the five to go.

Morning Mr T.

Sam Querrey plays this evening in the 1/4's against Juan Monaco. He is a slight favourite to win this game. His odds for the tournament are now 5-1.

Interestingly I was all set to put up a recommend for Baghdatis to win his first round match against Schwartzman. I made Baghdatis a 1-2 shot but all the bookies had him at about 6/4. It didn't stop me backing him but I thought they must know something and maybe he was ill, or injured . He then won the match 6-0  6-0 for the first double bagel of the ATP season.

Delph and Wilshere.

think Drinkwater might just miss out, unless the two above have any fitness doubts

Tighty

Can we put £25 e/w on Sir Des Champs with Coral.  I was planning on backing it anyway as it has class, but can't see the price lasting til tomorrow as we beat Betfair on win and place.  Cheers

The Masters Top Argentinian   grillo   6/5   50

-1 three shots clear in a three runner field

The Masters Top Australasian   smith    40/1    5

+2 3 shots behind Matsuyama

the masters top south african   grace   7/2   15

+3, three shots behind Oosthuizen

the masters top ten finish   kuchar   5/1   15

+3 a bad start

the masters top 20 finish   matsuyama   6/5   20

-1 in the top 20 at this early stage

Spieth became the first masters winner since Nicklaus in 66 to lead after a round the next year.

Rich, is that just a selection, or is it all our positions?

Pretty sure we are on Poulter, Top GB & I, @ 20/1, down to Methuselah.

Sorry if I have misunderstood.

He's just not used to placing my recommends.

Vladimir Klitschko is coming to Manchester to be Tyson Fury's next opponent. We've got got £70 @6/4 on the next opponent being Vlad courtesy of Chompy and co.

July the 9th is the date. The same weekend as the Wimbledon and Euro 2016 finals.

Tighty.

In the Morrocco tennis jobbie, which is a normal clay court, I think we should back Paul Mathieu to beat Borna Coric. Coric has been disappointing so far this season and Mathieu looks the most likely winner to me. His form in reaching the final at Kitzbuhel last season, beating Delbonnis and Almagro is better than anything Coric has done. I think Coric is favourite only because he is seeded.

Suggest £15 Mathieu @ 6/5 with Lads, hills or corals.
