40/1 Leicester to go down is way too big if Vardy is off this quickly before the Euro's.
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation
Freeth reported yesterday that Bet365 had 500 bets on lcfc to go down at 40s in the past 24 hours (they are top price)
i gather Chelsea have invoked Kante's release clause and he has asked to make a decision after the Euros
with Vardy and Kante possibly gone, Mahrez will go too you'd expect
lcfc tried to keep Vardy but its not easy under FFP to match the contract offer 140k p/w and he's on 70k p/w (which is why its tough for medium sized clubs to become big clubs as FFP sets up to keep the status quo)
Disappointing, puts all the pressure on that good scouting unit to replace them and then for a new team to gel quickly

How do you think he will do at Arsenal Tightend?
I know you have seen a lot more of him live than myself but can see him being a massive flop
Can't see how Arsenal are ever getting the best out him, I personally thought England should use him exactly how Leicester did this season but Woy will just shoehorn him to the wide positions
I know loyalty is long gone in the game but this really is about nothing but money ,quite sickening, and says a lot about the kind of guy he is, I would be livid if I was a Leicester supporter
Was looking forward to seeing LCFC play that style in the CL next season

I've worked for the same employer for 10 years. Have great friends at the company, good reputation, have won the odd award. If a competitor offered to double my wage I'd leave tomorrow. No brainer.

We will play that style of play in the UCL, we have no choice. Hardly going to play possession football and tiki taka
we will replace him, Ahmed Musa from CSKA is a real flyer and i remember him from nigeria's team in the 2014 world cup and the deal is allegedly done for £23m (release clause again). Lapadula from Pescara was top scorer in serie B and is also v quick, we are in for him
the issue is really that others will follow if one is leaving this early and what it means for that legendary team spirit they showed all last season
As to Vardy at Arsenal, whilst it appears reasonable to draw parallels to an earier transfer...Is Wenger going for Vardy like Fergie and RVP? Desperate to win the league before going, buying a player whose age would normally be a bar?
i think its easy to see how it works. Vardy plays on the last defender with extreme pace, teams can't defend too high as a result and this leaves acres of room in midfield for Ozil, Sanchez, Ramsey, Xhaka and the rest to create
whether they will get the ball to him quick enough is the question, he's not used to standing around while a midfield plays 19 pass pretty triangles to adoring nods from the London intelligentsia (except for 15 minutes after half time when they are still in corporate trying to quaff their champers)
think vardy will be particularly effective in UCL away ties, where you can set up to play on the break
--
As an aside, Fleetwood are due a 20% sell on. At £29.8m that's just under £6m going to a chairman not scared to invest, ambitious club who just stayed in league one last year but will now have a lump to play with
50/1 in a spot to go up....

Think that is always the easy out
Big difference between earning 50k a year and someone doubling it than already earning 80kplus a week(?) and being offered 120k a week , and I think LCFC were or would be willing to reward him again anyway
They built a side around his strengths and stood by him when he could easily have been sacked for the casino incident last year
Think it says a lot about him myself, and him and his new Mrs seem to be courting publicity

You got me excited there!! 50/1 to win the league not go up!! Great outside the box thinking though like it.
Think we should be having £50 on both Leicester 40/1 and Fleetwood at 50/1. Happy to put them under my name. Maybe even £100 on Leicester at 40/1. The price could look huge come August. They could easily go off single figures to go down. Nothing can happen that will make them bigger than 40/1 to go down imo.

Guess we will see , I know a few Arsenal fans who are just happy to have signed a couple of players who have a degree of aggression in their game and are hoping it will change the team mentality

lolz!!!! This guy has 4 years left max in his career to make enough money for him to never have to worry about money again. Why would he do anything else? Total no brainer. For the vast majority of his career he has just received a pretty standard wage. Cash in time is totally understandable. Can't believe anyone would hold it against him if Leicester don't want to/can't match the offer.

i would need help on both
Leicester 40/1 is bet365 only
Fleetwood 50/1 is paddypower only
if anyone wants to help, please let me know
p.s we aren't going down. At worst, at worst we turn into West Brom and Ranieri sets them up to draw 0-0 away and sneak the odd win
but totally accept 40/1 is a price we aren't seeing again and looks an interesting bet should it all unravel

"Nothing can happen that will make them bigger than 40/1 to go down imo"
100% agree
Think there is a bit more too it than just replacing him with a foreign 'flyer' imo or Wenger might as well just go sign those players
Vardy epitomised the hardworking pacy style last year and not many forwards graft as hard as he has
Plus gives Kante etc the perfect excuse to follow

How big is Fleetwood's annual budget pre the £6m should they get it just to put it in context at that level? What would be their annual wage budget for the whole squad? £2m tops?

He's a legend for our club whatever he does.
He's 29, he's being offered £140,000 a week and we can't match it easily under the FFP rules. Obviously the owners would match it if these rules did not exist.
has to take it and a few idiots aside once it calms down i don't believe any lcfc fans will hold it against him

It is an awful signing for Arsenal imo on a four year deal. Vardy in all likelihood will not age well given his skill set and he hardly looked after his body/health/fitness well prior to joining Leicester which he openly admitted he was a decent drinker. I would't want to be paying him £140k a week in 2020.
Another baffling AW move.
Following the same path as Alan Smith 29 years ago to Arsenal.

Not sure it worth a 'lolz'
Plenty of sportsmen love their sport and not every single Player takes the highest offer of money I'm pretty sure
No doubt you will tell me different but I'm sure not all are completely money obsessed
Same as in all walks of life people are not all the same
