£6m has to be huge

remember FFP, you can only spend what you bring in. they have a 6k capacity ground so the numerator of revenue/expenditure is very limited.

their £6.5m spend on training ground is allowable to offset, but shows the money/ambition is there.

£6m in from the sell on clause changes their FFP for the next few years

Same as in all walks of life people are not all the same

almost every player takes the highest money, will be a far higher percentage than the general population motivated this way

short sporting careers, got to maximise it and much of the new TV deal income is going to find its way to the players

I don't know a great deal of footballers personally.   I have met several of different levels through various friends/contacts in the industry and in the vast majority of cases it really is just a job to them.  A couple i met spoke about football in a way which would shock most fans.  They literally couldn't care less about the game/fans and it was just the best way for them to earn money. No difference to the distain most of us would hold our customers in behind closed doors in our day to day jobs.  One of them played for England at full international level in the last 15 years.   I think most fans really don't get this and think these guys care about the clubs they care for.   Obviously the PR men work their magic selling this but the reality is somewhat different.
